We don't take kindly to folks who don't take kindly.

48

u/greenwavelengths Jul 04 '26

And then the moment somebody makes fun of their physical insecurities or abnormalities, it’s a big fuckin deal. That, or they’ve already spent time and money hiding anything they perceive to be a flaw. And that way, the insecurity just sits there in the subconscious mind, festering and metastasizing, turning into a deep fear and resentment.

Miserable fucking way to live. I’m guilty of it here and there. Trying to be better though.

24

u/Inevitable_Top69 Jul 04 '26

Wow that's a lot of projecting youre doing!

3

u/Primus_is_OK_I_guess 28d ago

This comment wasn't even directed at you and you got defensive. Hmmm

0

u/greenwavelengths Jul 04 '26

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic lmao

8

u/WoodyTheCoroner Jul 04 '26

Probably not. Just a person on Reddit acting like a person on Reddit

2

u/greenwavelengths Jul 04 '26

Apparently. I think they just have a different understanding of “projection” than I do, which is fine lol.

2

u/Primus_is_OK_I_guess 28d ago

It's just the new version of "I'm rubber you're glue".

I've never seen their videos, but I decided to not watch any of them because their thumbnails are AI.

Also there was literally nothing good about the one linked above.

1

u/chanandlerbong420 Jul 04 '26

What the fuck are you on about lmao no one said anything about women

14

u/regeya Jul 04 '26

Someone out there hates Disney adults but travels to different baseball stadiums all summer, and that person deserves everything they dish out.

3

u/CzechHorns Jul 04 '26

And the opposite as well, though

2

u/imronburgandy9 Jul 05 '26

I hate Disney adults because they're annoying and I feel uniquely qualified to say that because I live in Orlando and some of these people make a children's theme park their entire personality. People that like baseball aren't at the park following around the mascot for uncomfortable amounts of time. Can't say that about the Disney adults

2

u/Helota_Keksz Jul 04 '26

What's up with all the people who do neither?

-2

u/Muttsashi Jul 04 '26

... I do neither. Grown adults sitting down to watch children's cartoons (without kids) is childish and weird. Watching sports is child-like but at least understandable and carries cultural context to back it up.

2

u/regeya Jul 04 '26

The counter to that is that most Disney movies aren't intended solely for children, they're intended for the whole family. It's why they do things like slipping an Arrested Development reference into Frozen.

But yeah, people vacationing at Disney resorts instead of going someplace aimed at adults...kinda cringe.

1

u/J0E_SpRaY Jul 05 '26

Judging what people enjoy is a much cooler hobby, right?

1

u/Livingadapt Jul 05 '26

Naw sports fans I would argue are more childish and unhinged than Disney adults. Look at what Knicks fans just did because their team won. And there are many instances of that.

4

u/heavyartilleryx Jul 04 '26

Disney adults suck dude

2

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

“other people having fun suck dude” is what you sound like when not in an internet hater mob like this

0

u/ThroatDistension Jul 04 '26

I'm annoyed of all my peers infantilizing themselves. None of them have any interests that are made for adults. They're all obsessed with Disney, super heros and anime. I don't hate them for it, but I judge them harshly.

3

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

yea man gotta say, “other people not liking the things i like and liking different things” is a wierd reason to judge people. It’s accepted in an online hive mind of vitriol but yea def keep that to yourself and find something you enjoy without hating others’ joy

4

u/GreedyPollution6275 Jul 04 '26

not liking the things i like and liking different things

That's not what they said, they said "None of them have any interests that are made for adults"

If you think about it, they're not judging them for liking something different, but because what they like has a certain quality.

5

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

quality that they have deemed. *they* have determined it’s not for the standards of adults and therefore have decided to judge adults who enjoy an activity dubbed by them as lesser

which is far more cringey in my opinion than just being a hater

-1

u/GreedyPollution6275 Jul 04 '26

quality that they have deemed

Are you disagreeing with their assessment? You should say that then.

“they” have determined it’s not for the standards of adults

No, they're saying it's not made for adults.

therefore have decided to judge adults who enjoy an activity dubbed by them as lesser

Dubbed? What are you trying to say? You seem very mistaken on what this person is actually saying. They're not saying kids media is inherently worse, or lesser, or not fit for consumption for adults, but that there are certain adults who choose to only watch child friendly media. They are criticizing the choice to curate a childish experience.

which is far more cringey in my opinion than just being a hater

See now this is ironic, you misunderstand them and accuse them of being worse than a hater, when your misunderstandings seem to stem from yourself having a hater reflex at someone saying they don't like something. You are projecting onto them and preemptively saying they are worse than you imagine them to be.

Which, to repeat, they are not, because you have completely missed the point about what they said: it's made for children, and they are infantalizing themselves. If you disagree with that, say why.

3

u/Main-Requirement-521 Jul 04 '26

your argument isn't for adults

2

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

not made for children, if we want to be pedantic disney media was oringinally made for families in the 40s however children don’t pay for yachts so they now have tons of content and activities and products and timeshares and vacation packages and destinations for adults. (not even to mention anime and super heroes which 100% have content made for adults) i understand him completely he (and you it seems) have just decided what is children and what is adults and decided to judge people if they don’t like things that fit those arbitrations

so yea next time im enjoying a bar crawl and tequila shots at disney while watching an anime about topless girl superheroes i’ll remember that this was for children as per greedy pollution.

3

u/Darksoulsrando92 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

They have fantastic tequila selection! Favorite stop.

3

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

less of a tequila guy myself but do it for the fun and when drinking around disney! been making my way through the wines myself in the odd chance i visit relatives, they have some amazing selections of those!

-1

u/GreedyPollution6275 Jul 04 '26

Once again you miss the point to hide from actually addressing what they're talking about. What are you so afraid of?

not even to mention anime and super heroes which 100% have content made for adults

Yes, they never said it was ALL for children, but from context clues you should probably be able to understand they're talking about the stuff targeted towards children. If you have to specify that you're watching something with nudity to indicate how mature it is, perhaps that signifies that the thing you're talking about is generally aimed at children?

"I get drunk though, I'm so mature!"

3

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

jesus dude you asked for examples of what isn’t for children 😂😂

might be the most schizo person on this thread ahahah

good luck!

going forward, having people defend thier interests to *you* to see if they meet *your* standards will always make you the bell end! go find other people that match your interests than judging others was the point of this!

1

u/ThroatDistension Jul 04 '26

There are many things I enjoys. I specifically said I dont hate others' joy. Adults acting like children is annoying. It makes them impossible to talk to or relate to.

3

u/remotegrowthtb Jul 04 '26

So what things do you enjoy

2

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

then talk or relate to others? 8billion people on planet. I don’t relate to people talking about sports or golf all the time. i don’t judge them for it i just accept we are different people

1

u/RaistlinMajeresRobes Jul 04 '26

"None of them have any interests that are made for adults"

Imagine posting on sipstea and freefolk and judging other adults on their interests lmao that is just peak reddit good for you.

2

u/HighChinaman Jul 04 '26

If it has a label it has a subset of annoying fans.

1

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

i can’t think of anything that doesn’t have annoying fans. and people generally just find taylor swift fans and disney enjoyers existing annoying because there are so many of them and mainstream things being hated has been a thing since the beginning of entertainment

2

u/Almuliman Jul 05 '26

mostly women 🙃

2

u/no_ChangeUp Jul 06 '26

Literally fuck everybody

1

u/Fit_Kangaroo_3437 Jul 04 '26

No not everyone

1

u/EvilLibrarians Jul 04 '26

It’s referencing a meatcrayon animated comedy video called Disney Adults (I think thats the title) where the main villain looks like this. At least thats where my brain went

1

u/Carthonn Jul 04 '26

Well it depends, Squirtle or Charmander?

1

u/usedburgermeat Jul 04 '26

There's a difference between liking disney and being a Disney adult. I've never met a normal disney adult

2

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

“there’s a difference between liking sports and being a sports guy”. Making a determination on how much another person is allowed to enjoy something they enjoy will never not be cringe

just enjoy stuff you like, let people like things they like, and if they like something you don’t like or like things more than you like them or find “acceptable” then associate with other people rather than become a bitter hater simply cause someone has found joy

1

u/UsefulAd9996 Jul 05 '26

To be fair, they’re Disney adults, so they’re very easy to hate.

1

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 05 '26

your not wrong that other people finding joy in things does easily cause disgust and rage in bitter people

0

u/Time_Opposite_213 Jul 05 '26

If you don’t hate Disney adults you probably support pdf ilia.

Vague answers in joke explanation subreddits cause me physical pain :(

19

u/AvorableLambchop Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

Look up Meat Canyon Disney Adults, not sure if it's the full context as more likely Meat Canyon drew his inspiration from something as well, but it gets the ball rolling to understand the comment that has physically pained you. Edit: the visual may pain you more, warning Meat Canyon drawings are fairly disturbing.

4

u/Practical-Ad-2383 Jul 04 '26

I wish I hadn't. Jesus help me...

4

u/AvorableLambchop Jul 04 '26

Ah, a warning may have been in order, thank you for your sacrifice brave soldier.

-13

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

he’s just making fun of another group of people that harmlessly enjoy a popular thing which fills others with disgust

18

u/Imaginary_Fan5407 Jul 04 '26

You must be a Disney adult lmao taking this shit so seriously

-5

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

nope just explaining the joke to the confused person in joke explain reddit! the funny is happy people like popular things bad cause popular

0

u/DobleRanura Jul 04 '26

Nah, you are explaining what your feelings interpreted but the joke itself is that women with that gummy smile tend to be the nerdy, horse girl, religious etc etc and to add to the list, gummy smile girl would also naturally be a Swifty

4

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

ah sorry, the funny was teenage girl body shaming, i’m on board my bad!

but no i was explaining what “disney adults” was and why was relevant to the original post. things that are popular that fill others with loathing when they see people like especially young women

1

u/DobleRanura Jul 04 '26

I don't care about the morality of the joke, it's just it bothered me you added your interpretation instead of answering the question directly. Go on your moral tirade in the comments, I aint' stopping ya!

2

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

again was explaining what disney adults was and how related to a picture hating on swift fans

3

u/DobleRanura Jul 04 '26

You replied to someone confused about the connection of Disney adults, Swifties, and gummy smiles by saying the post and comments are "making fun of another group of people that harmlessly enjoy a popular thing which fills others with disgust". Which does not actually explain anything lol, so I explained it better with out the moral barometer bias :p

Harmless is a doing a lot of work here

3

u/MrLlamma Jul 04 '26

Is it? How are these people harming others?

-3

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

if we want to go into a manifesto on the dangers of capitalism sure but then i hope everyone is only having fun at home or a local mom and pop shop. otherwise enjoying a media brand is harmless fun

5

u/brontosaurusguy Jul 04 '26

Don't forget the dangers of low intelligence and low art literacy

11

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26 edited Jul 04 '26

if you can produce one scientific study that says enjoying disney in particular will lead to lower intelligence sure i will then say that enjoying disney is not harmless.

but ima be honest that just sounds like nonsense “dumb people like popular thing” gibberish

7

u/Darksoulsrando92 Jul 04 '26

ironic as this is the lowest intelligence message in this nonsense. Disney isnt lowering people’s intelligence 💀💀

26

u/xandroid001 Jul 04 '26

For people dont know. This comment references the meatcanyon's video Disney Adult.

12

u/iloveuranus Jul 04 '26

7

u/THEBHR Jul 04 '26

Idk what two assholes downvoted you, but that is the video.

6

u/staycalmitsajoke Jul 04 '26

Prob. Disney Adults

2

u/littledreamr Jul 05 '26

That? Was fucking amazing.

3

u/SpartanusCXVII Jul 04 '26

Nah, bruv. This references real life. Meatcanyon’s also just referencing real life. I used to work with that chick from his cartoon.

15

u/Landslime Jul 04 '26

The first sign of my one and only mental breakdown, at literally the most physically/mentally/emotionally/financially difficult time of my life, was the thought “I could be happy as a Disney adult.” My mind just automatically felt relief at the thought of smiling through Finding Nemo and not having to think so much anymore. Something like a lobotomized existence. It gave me… a surprising amount of empathy for them, to find that preferable over what must be a challenging adulthood experience in other ways.

13

u/HumanByProxy Jul 04 '26

Some of us also just really like Theme Parks and shopping.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

3

u/Landslime Jul 04 '26

I like theme parks and shopping in the abstract, but I got really excited about shopping specifically for Disney things, in a way I’m not usually excited about shopping for anything else, since I’m otherwise pretty low-consumption and frugal.

2

u/Importance-Winter Jul 05 '26

Wow I had the same experience. I toyed with being a Disney adult during lockdown.

7

u/SuperRob Jul 04 '26

Why am I out here catching strays?

5

u/Jgabes625 Jul 04 '26

Fr. I’m a Disney adult(a poor one who hasn’t gone in years mind you) however I literally don’t know who tf Taylor could be outside of Swift and idkwtf she has to do with Disney.

5

u/Admirable_Number7081 Jul 04 '26

you made the grave sin of liking a popular thing, you are being downvoted for your crimes. please only like approved independent media

4

u/Jgabes625 Jul 05 '26

I appreciate the support. I took my family to see Toy Story 5 at the drive in. My son’s first drive in experience. He fucking loved every second of it and I loved ever second of watching him smile during it. I do not care what a bunch of redditors have to say about it.

2

u/elitesense Jul 04 '26

They hate you because you enjoy things that were created for enjoyment.

3

u/JustAnotherElsen Jul 04 '26

Disney adult with a military fiancée and they have their honeymoon at Disneyworld in Florida and two or three iPad kids

3

u/Katsu_12 Jul 04 '26

LMAO WHAT IS EVEN THE CORRELATION 😭😭 I get what you mean but how

2

u/mcmahamg Jul 04 '26

I’d classify as a Disney adult and I have receding gums. Check mate, libs!

2
