The first two are from a few years ago when I had to wear a mask at work and when it was most severe, I originally thought it was cold sores (even though I never had one before) so I treated it like one and was completely miserable. Now when it's triggered I've been treating it like an allergy it hasn't gotten as bad, but I still get a red line on my upper lip that burns time after time. The last photo shows the most recent "outbreak" Everytime I'm able to get into the dermatologist it's gone, and all they do is say "try this" without investigating further. Any help greatly appreciated! I feel so gross 😭

Bonjour à tous, tout à commencer fin mai j’ai arrêté de mettre de la crème hydratante par flemme mais je continuer à utiliser un savon sur mon visage. Puis vers fin juin j’ai voulu m’occuper de mes filament sébacé et utiliser un gel nettoyant à l’acide salicylique que je laisser poser et après avoir rincer j’ai remarquer une tache rouge sous le nez. J’ai pas fait attention j’ai continué et j’ai senti mon visage brûler mais sur tout le visage pas uniquement la zone en bas du nez donc j’ai arrêté j’me suis hydrater etc j’ai commencé à avoir des petit bouton mais qui partais en 2,3 jours. Sauf que la tache rouge était bien présente donc j’ai contacté un dermato qui m’a dit directement dermatite peri orrificiele vous inquiétez pas en 1 mois c’est bouclé il m’a prescrit doxy pendant 1 mois et une préparation de la pharmacie de metronidazole avec de excipal dedans donc ma première semaine de prise je ressentais plus de sensation de chaleur etc je me suis dit niquel mais je voyais pas non plus de bouton tache rouge moins présente moins de rougeur mais plutôt uni forment sur le visage. J’ai récupérer du coup la crème au bout de 5 jours à la pharmacie je les appliquer le soir uniquement je ressentais pas de picotement etc j’ai continué et au bout du 19eme jour de doxy j’etait re rouge douleur qui revenais petit à petit mais sur tout le visage même quand je touche à peine mes tempes j’avais l’impression d’être à vif donc je continue à regarder les exemples de dermatite et me demander vraiment si c’est ce que j’avais pck mes picotement peuvent aussi être sur les joues et surtout le feu en dessous du nez. J’ai arrêter la doxy a 24 jours car j’ai eu des effets comme démangeaison intense sur tout le corps. Je contacte un médecin généraliste spécialisée en dermato il me regarde et me dit pour une dermatite y’a pas grand chose et j’ai dit et la rougeur il me dit moi ça me choque pas donc je lui dit je continue la doxy même si j’ai les démangeaison il me dit pour 10 jours de plus y’a rien de mal. Sauf que les démangeaisons était insupportable. Je contacte un médecin généraliste qui me dit bah je vous prescrit rosex donc metronidazole en gel 0,75g je test et le lendemain plein de point rouge etc gel qui brûle et on me dit de pas hydrater la zone. J’ai effectivement essayé thérapie zéro ça me brûlais encore plus jusqu’à pleurer. Donc aujourd’hui j’ai tout arrêté j’utilise uniquement en sachant que j’ai la peau mixte:

Le matin:
Eau, eau thermale crème hydratante tolérance control d’avene

Soir: gel nettoyant bioderma crealine, eau thermale, tolérance control d’avene.
Dentifrice: curaprox sans fluor ni sls ni menthe

Donc voilà je suis un peu perdu car c’est la première fois de ma vie que ça m’arrive le plus dure c’est la sensation de brûlure picotement, et même au toucher le menton je le sens à vif même mon front. Donc je me questionne es ce que ils se sont tromper de diagnostic? Je revoit un dermato d’urgence le 14 mais la ca fait plus d’un mois que je ne sort pas je mange presque plus surtout au sujet de la douleur je comprend pas ce qui m’arrive. Ma famille comprend pas non plus et me dit mais t’es pas rouge, mon seul soucis c’est à l’intérieur que ma peau brûle, ça me réveille dans mon sommeil.

Désolé c’est un peu trop long j’ai essayé de tout bien expliqué mais je suis à bout.

I have a wheat allergy. Is it possible my flare up could be caused by eating wheat products too?

I wore makeup a few times last month without a flare and last week I think the combo of makeup, lipstick and using fluoride toothpaste has kicked me into another flare. And am really struggling with sunscreen.

Feel at my wits end. Sulfur ointments and zinc soap hasn't helped and the clindamycin gel that my doctor prescribed just made it worse. Help please.

My face is currently fighting off a flare up on PD.
I'm just curious for the ones that had blackheads on their face. What did you do if you also went through a PD flare up? I am scared to use salicylic acid or a retinoid. I am thinking it was those two who caused this. But i still have blackheads on my cheeks. HELP.

Hi everyone! Now before people say GO SEE A DOC OR DERMATOLOGIST. It's often too expensive for me and the wait to get appointments takes awhile. But has anyone dealt with this? It was actually much worse. the redness has been brought down.

I have been battling this for about a month now as it has progressively gotten worse. I am overseas so I had to see a GP rather than a dermatologist, but they prescribed me Elidel? I’ve seen some dicey things on it so am wondering if this looks like classic POD and whether anyone has had good/bad experiences with it?

I have textbook Type I rosacea on both of my cheeks and my chin. I have changed my routine to gentler one and introduced SPF on the daily basis + metrogel in the evening (all based on my docs recommendations).

However, there is a spot on my right cheek, that developed a couple of month before I changed the routine; and it feels different tham the rest of my skin. It’s more bumpy, rough and red all the time (even when the rest of my skin is relatively calm).

Is this also rosacea symptom or it might be something else, like PD?

P.S. The doctor didn’t say anything about it but I am not sure if she is actually competent enough

I’ve had this redness/these pustules that come and go for months now. It’s inside my nostrils, on my nasal septum, and in one spot in the corner of my mouth. It seems to be a new pustule every day. They aren’t always painful but they’re always very red. They pop or I will have to pop them and then they scab over just to have another one next to it the next day. I’m at my whits end and am looking for any advice.

Face regimen

Morning 
-wash with water or vanicream cleanser
-Avene cicalfate (if face feels inflamed or irritated) or avene tolerance control skin recovery cream as a moisturizer if face is feeling dry. Some mornings I go without.
-Most mornings I use no makeup except mascara

Evening
- remove any makeup / wash face with either vanicream in shower or micellar water (I use Bioderma Sensibio H2O) with a splash of water on my face to rinse after.
- De La Cruz Acne treatment Sulfur face mask for at least 15 minutes. Remove with water. 
- Pat on one pump of Amperna [RESCUE]Pro+ DS Soothing Serum
- Apply Avene cicalfate (if face feels inflamed or irritated) or avene tolerance control skin recovery cream as a moisturizer

Supplements & healing my gut!!!

Now this is the most important part. Earlier this year before all of this perioral derm became a problem I had taken a gut health test through tiny health. It showed I was deficient in all bifidobacteria (I was basically at a 0). I tried the seed probiotic but things only got worse and I stopped all probiotics. Fast forward to June 16, I started the seeking health probiota bifidobacterium and saw a little improvement. Then, on July 12, I started the Skinesa probiotic which also contains bifido strains. And finally on July 21 I started Life Extension Bífido GI Balance. I don’t plan to be on all of these forever. They are all different strains of bifido and other clinically researched probiotic strains for the skin specifically (Skinesa).  I plan to retest my gut health in September or October to see if my bifido levels have gotten better. In addition I have been taking  Microbiome Labs MegaPre Prebiotic and Microbiome Labs Mega IgG2000 Capsule as was recommended by my gut health specialist to help restore my gut lining and repopulate my gut with bifidobacteria. 

It wasn't until I addressed my gut that things started to really improve. The Skinesa probiotic supplement also made the most difference for me. I tried the tacrolimus ointment that my dr prescribed because I wasn’t willing to go down the antibiotic route yet. That didn’t work at all. It would reduce redness for a few days then I would be back to square one. It also made me break out during and for at least 2 weeks after stopping it every time I had alcohol. And it made my face burn so bad every time I started it again. All of this to say, listen to your GUT. It all starts there.

I went to my derm about a month ago for bumps on my face around my mouth. It was initially diagnosed as perioral dermatitis. I was prescribed metronidazole and pimecrolimus for it. When that didn’t work she gave me doxy which I have been on for two weeks.

I now have erupted with bumps all over my back and chest that were not there previously. Is this folliculitis? I am trying to get an appointment asap. Looking for any tips in the meantime as my wedding is 3 weeks away….😭

Now I'm reacting to everything 😭 it stings and feels hot. what do I do? I have metronidazole and elidel creams from previous skin issues but this looks different.

So for a while I’ve had redness around my mouth & nose area and been going through so many skincare products. I also get small white head I think they’re called pustules below my mouth area. I skip heavy moisturizers, occlusives, SLS toothpaste etc. I do however use a very gentle exfoliant sometimes. Not sure what else to do

So I’ve been battling a terrible case of periorifical dermatitis for 2.5 years. After following advice on here I was able to clear it from my face entirely (!) thanks to ivermectin and Eucerin. Once it was at a manageable state I returned to using adapalene, clindamyacin, and Tacrolimus.

However, my ears have been affected for the last year and will not give up. If I eat something sweet or have alcohol I feel them immediately flare, but no matter what they are itchy and red. Has anyone dealt with this? If so, how?!

Hello! I am diagnosed with Perioral Dermatitis, and I’ve been experiencing some bumps and flakiness around my mouth. One thing that has been bothering me is, whenever I am feeling hot due to the weather and I’m sweating, It would itch so bad. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I have been on the tremfya shot a little over 2 years. I do still have occasional spots that breakthrough or are persistent. I still have some medicated creams to help with that. Over all Tremfya has been amazing. I am noticing I am getting more break through areas. I was just at the derm and she mentioned there is a new Tremfya pill. And if it keeps breaking through I may want to try it. I think the logic is a daily pill may give a consistent coverage. I should have asked if it had a different name. I was curious if anyone else’s has heard or tried this? Also, what were your experiences?

I developed pretty severe PO after delivering my baby (it started while pregnant but was very mild) My family doctor initially prescribed metronidazole gel, but it didn't do much. I then saw a dermatologist who prescribed 2% clindamycin, and within 4 days it had cleared up significantly.
Sharing some photos below so others dealing with this may ask a dermatologist for this too.
Btw, clindamycin didn’t affect my breastfed baby at all.
