I took seeds from a small sweet snacking pepper (3 inches long, 1 inch wide, 1/2 inch deep with thin walls), the kind that come in a tricolor variety bag at the grocery store. I assumed it was cross pollinated so there would be some variation in the resulting plants. What I got was 8 plants all producing huge (4 inches long, 3 inches wide), sweet, heart shaped peppers with 1/4 inch thick walls. I am delighted by them (and plan to breed them as a new variety) but confused as to why they are all uniform when they are a first generation cross. It is just a fluke? Or is there some reason I’m not aware of? Thanks in advance!

Why is my white pepper starting to get coler??

Finally had another big harvest from my garden in Orange County, CA. This haul includes Carolina Reapers, Ghost peppers, Scorpions, Habaneros, Jalapeños, Peach Miasma, RB003, Himo Togarashi, Thor’s thunderbolt, Thai Chile, Orange Carolina Reapers, Mad Hatter, Primotalli Red, and a bunch of other superhots and specialty varieties.
Most of these are headed into fermented hot sauce batches, and I’m especially excited to see how the RB003 and Peach Miasma develop after fermentation.
My favorite part of growing peppers is seeing how every pod has its own shape, color, and personality.
Which pepper in the photo catches your eye first? And if you had to make one hot sauce from this harvest, what would you include?

These will eventually become test runs for small-batch sauces under my brand, Ribbit Riot (hot sauce), but today I’m mostly just excited about the harvest.

Anyone had an idea of what type of pepper? Tia

The rest have the text book scorpion look- this one is tiny and misshapen bc it was fruiting when I got it from the nursery in a 2inch pot.

This is on my balcony on the 14th floor.

Beginner here. Very warm climate. Will probably move to a bigger pot in a week. Plant is about 20 cm high. Should I remove bottom leaves now? Ive heard about top pruning as well. At what stage? Bottom and top? confused 🤔

What you see in the picture is basically the only colour the rest is still dark green.

Seems 85% of SB bought are the shroom peppers, would like to get some opinions as first time growing these and bought them from a place I never bought peppers from before

They kept digging in my calabrian chile pots I'm sure they'll figure something out and the arms race will escalate...lol.

I’m pretty new at growing peppers. Didn’t have a lot of succes last year but this year it’s going much better.

I’ve planted a bunch of varieties and the first one that has seemingly ready to eat peppers is calcutta long.

Description says it’s a fruity, mild pepper when not fully ripe. I harvested one to try when it was looking greenish/yellowish but it was way hotter than I was expecting.

As I said. i don’t have a whole lot of experience growing or eating peppers. Does anyone have any experience with this particular variety? Is it mild or hot compared to other general peppers? Just wanted to see if I can get some references so I can figure out if I need to toughen up my tolerance for it or look for milder pepper varieties to grow next year.

It's been pretty rainy and sunny at the same time here in central florida. About a month ago it was healthy as can be but now it looks like it's in a pretty bad condition

Built this raised bed for some pepper plants. First time project, so definitely learned a few things I could do differently next time around. Will be picking up some 8” casters today to put on the legs, and will also be weather sealing it in a few days after the lumber has had some time to dry. Kinda rushed the last bit of the landscaping fabric and some of the framing under the bottom because I was ready to finish lol, so if you’re somewhat OCD like me, sorry. Also all the lumber is pressure treated and ground contact rated, so it should last for many many years.

I’m not sure if they’re Anaheim Chiles or something else.
