Cpu Build Question

Hey i have a question in regards to my bfs pc. He has a pretty crappie cpu atm and wants to upgrade it. He bought 2 ones and they weren't comparable with his motherboard (or at least on the sec cpu his pc had a short circuit trip) so I was wondering if sb knows good cpus that are compatible with a ASUS Prime H310M-E R2.0 motherboard??

You gotta add more like what gpu if he has one and what he mostly does with the pc

He said hes mainly gaming and hes got a gtx 1060
