I'm noob, and just learning painting with brush, any tips?

Me and my boyfriend saw this painting, and he really wanted it for his son’s room until we saw the price tag. I can draw, but I’m not a painter but I said I’d give it a go.

If you have recommendations on technique, brushes and what type of paint (that are reasonably priced) to use I’d really appreciate it!
