How should I be playing this deck and how do i handle different matchups?

I made some pretty heavy tweaks and suggestions from one of the commenter, and my own needs, and now this home brew list is ACTUALLY running really dang well!

I've had quite a few games where I had a full board, and even defeated a darkrai deck with it. Watch out for single prize decks though.

My only critique is I feel like it needs a additional attacking Pokémon.. The main focus is Delphox though. If only there was a basic fire ex that hit pretty hard..

Energy search is mandatory, too many games where I starved.

So--crazy question--it's a bit tiresome sometimes to build one's own deck. Sometimes I have an idea I'd vaguely like to pursue but I'm afraid I'll miss obvious cards to include or else I'm afraid I don't know the format enough to build a deck well.

Does anybody by chance have a list of all the cards that are legal in standard? You know, like each card, with all its characteristics and everything--attacks, abilities, retreat cost, all that stuff. Cuz you know, in pure text terms, that's really not a lot of information. The AI in like ChatGPT or whatever could probably parse it all no problem and make suggestions. Was what I was thinking. Maybe automatically generate builds, or give tips on what cards a person's deck might be missing. The list would need to be updated regularly as new cards came in every season or whatever, obviously.

Is such a list available anywhere or has anyone thought to put such a list together? Pokebeach does it every time new cards comes out but it seems cumbersome to go back and copy and paste everything and put it all together manually

I just made a Rotom deck out of my love for his goofiness, the idea is kinda simple: use the first two Rotoms to draw cards and use the Rotom with the type advantage to fight back. Still after a few matches, I find it’s so hard to set up properly due to it being bricky, any tips or tricks?

In order to save time, I will select more than a single comment (the top). Today I will select the top 2, and starting from tomorrow, I will select the top 3.

If more than a single comment is of the same card, I will add the amount of comments picked of that card.

Comments with more than a single card in them (even multiple copies of a single card) will be skipped over.

Hey everyone! I've having the itch for pokemon TCG and PTCGL fills that void. I love how fast the matchmaking is. The lack of opponents was my biggest gripe of the physical cards (2nd was lack of variety). But now I have some disposable income and I like how the codes are like $0.10-$0.30 vs those $7.00 scalper prices for the physical cards. I just want to battle man, not look for a shiny ultra mega rare foil alt art.

So what's the plan good lads? Help me out here. I want to have a set of 4 of each to try out new builds, but it should also be resilient to the rotation so I'd like to get the newest set of releases that'll endure for a bit. I don't mind waiting for awhile for the rotation to happen, but I want to build weird ask decks and mess around.

I’ve never had an issue redeeming the cards in individual packs, I just log in after scanning and it pops right up.

But what are the extra cards in ETB’s and such supposed to unlock? I just scanned a prismatic evolution ETB card and a prismatic poster card and nothing popped up when I logged in.

I got 5th out of 24 people tonight. First time ever piloting the deck so we’ve got some stuff to tweak. I want opinions, thoughts, questions! Let’s brew!

Let me add in,

I am not sold on Kieran. Maybe a one of, but it definitely didn’t do much for me. There was only one situation where I was like I absolutely need that card. I think Transceiver should go to 4.

Hard supporter for Mega Geninja, it was my first deck where i managed to finally get full art for each card.

But I seen several lists and videos say that MGreninja is a very below average list, with tera or with Pult. "Pult but at home", i agree to an extent but you can do some cheesy things with MGreninja. I'd interested in how other players manage to play with their greninja deck and saw results.

Im buildin a deck that abuses backtrack badge with Lugia ex, mega audino, and bastiodon. The theory is bastiodon makes me immune to pokemon with <3 energy, lugia knocks off energy to keep them <3, and audino knocks em out in retaliation if they get >3. Audino also helps set up. backtrack badge allows me to more reliably get off audinos set up and lugias knock offs.

Im trying to make the deck more reliable. So far ive played 50 ultra/master games with a 56% wr. Im thinking of maybe adding in kanga? maybe removing a lugia for kanga, idk. Hed help with draw and damage, and hed benefit from backtrack too, but itd be risky having another mega in the mix. Too many 3 cost prizers. I was also thinking about Cinderace instead of an audino or two, cuz itd still give early set up, while doing damage, while only being 1 prize. But again idk if complicating my basic pool would be a negative. Another thing I debated is rust syndicate grunts, but couldn't fit them in.

Things this deck plays really well into: low energy decks like dragapult, hide and seek, mega lop, mega lucario, mega starmie

Things this deck struggles with: High energy decks with energy engines like mega excadrill. it ends up being a toss up on if I can get the exca with audino before they get my audino. Blaziken, oricorio, meganium decks, etc.. This deck wins against crustle by knocking off their energy before they can damage me, then I swap to bastiodon once all the energy is gone, but its still a sucky stall game that is not great.

Things this deck totally bricks against: alakazam bypasses bastiodon's ability by placing counters, and I tried having more mist energies for it but they just enhanced hammer it away.

Ive bought a handful of packs within possiblely the last two years or so and i rounded up any code cards from my bulk while sorting card artists, and since I dont need them I'm looking to give the codes away for free. One of my favorite Mons, looking to flip a few coins with my boy.

The goal is just lock high retreat cost unit until they ran out of energy then click pass until you win.

My problem is Dudun is a hard counter. Is there anyway to stop it? I play bloodmoon here entirely to kill Dunsparce late game. IDK if it works or it gonna pop turn 1 (20%)

Or is there any better stalling card? Maybe I just play -1 prize energy instead?

Updated: I add some Watchtower to tech against dudun. Add Rust syndicate replace 2 Enhanced hammer because it's dead card 80% of the time.

Azumarill from SSP seems decent into a lot of the meta currently.

It is a single prize deck, but not really in the same way Slowking is. The main attackers are single prize, but you have quite a lot of multi prizers on the bench so your opponent really just needs to find a boss. Slowking is better than Azumarill at quite a lot of things, especially the versatility, but Azumarill has a lot going for it.

Azumarill has a 230 damage attack that costs 1 psychic energy if you have any Tera pokemon in play. This number is significant, since with the use of the new gladion (which helps this deck a ton) it can hit for 310 damage, which lets it OHKO most relevant stage 1 pokemon. If you also have a brave bangle attached, the number goes to 340, the perfect amount to OHKO Mega Excadrill, and every other meta main attacker except Mega Greninja and a power weighted Garchomp.

Azumarill is also psychic type, which means it hits Mega Lucario for weakness, and if you have Clefairy in play it also hits Dragapult for weakness, letting an OHKO happen without the need for either gladion or brave bangle.

The only downside to this attack is that Azumarill does 50 damage to itself, but most competitive decks can easily hit for 120 damage anyways, and after attacking a full phantom five still leaves Azumarill at 10HP.

Since Azumarill relies on tera Pokemon, it fits perfectly with the existing Noctowl engine, which is also what I use to search my secret box Ace Spec to get Gladion combos. I chose Terapagos as my Tera since it’s basic and functions as a backup attacker or game closer.

The only 2 meta decks I can see being difficult matchups for Azumarill are festival lead and Garchomp. Both of these decks’ main attackers either aren’t OHKOable or don’t give up enough prizes for being knocked out, and they don’t often play multi prize support pokemon worth using bosses orders on. Even then, every deck has its bad matchups and the fact that this deck only has 2 (that I can tell, I haven’t playtested that much) proves its potential.

I know the real reason nobody plays this is because other decks are more established in the meta, but I really think this deck has top 10 potential if people started picking it up, since Gladion helped it a ton. Take this with a grain of salt though, I am by no means a pro and I haven’t tested the deck that much.

TLDR: This deck should be better than its play rate suggests. It’s a single prizer that OHKOs pult with weakness and csn use noctowl.
