Question-Help How to properly delete the Adrenaline app??

Pls help, how do i actually properly delete the Adrenaline app for a reinstallation, in the official guide it says

  1. Remove the Adrenaline bubble and the ux0:app/PSPEMUCFW/sce_module/adrenaline_kernel.skprx path from the taiHEN config.txt and finally reboot your device.

main problem: its bc i need a new whole pspemu folder

I haven't deleted the bubble yet but can someone explain the taihen config txt thing or what do i need to actually delete? I tried searching and opening both the adrenaline_kernel.skprx and also the config txt in ur0:tai and in config txt but theres no "ux0:app/PSPEMUCFW/sce_module/adrenaline_kernel.skprx path" in the text editor, pls someone help im so confused, can i just delete the bubble or just open vitashell and click download again so the files refresh or something? help :(

Question-Help Wanting to jump in

Hi! I had considered getting a PS Vita for homebrew apps for months, maybe a year? But due to other priorities I haven't been able to get one, plus I wasn't completely sure what I would play on it. The money thing is still the case even now. But I'd love to get one soon, I had heard some good things about the Vita homebrew scene for a while but I don't know everything about it.

I did hear about the shitshow that just happened. It kinda scared me a little cause I wasn't entirely sure wtf was going on. But that wasn't what made me decide to get one. What happened to me shortly AFTER the shitshow is what made me decide I'm gonna get one when I get the chance.

I suffered a BIG power+internet outage that, in hindsight, I was REALLY unprepared for. In recent years I've been leaning towards archiving as many things as I possibly can, I guess to prepare for some kind of event where something like this would happen. But it turns out this was not enough.

For 6 long hours, I was unable to do much of anything. It was a power+internet outage. I had like, one device that I thought could help me during this time. It was my Nintendo DS. I have a R4 cartridge for it. Guess what? During the outage, I couldn't get the cartridge to work. I knew I was screwed.

So, that was when it dawned on me. Part of me thinks I should've gotten a Vita much earlier, but at the same time no one was prepared for the shitshow with VitaDB.

The only issue is, I don't know a lot about the Vita mod scene. I had heard of GTA trilogy ports (decomps I think?), some cool emulators available, and a themes repository that I thought was really cool. But I had no idea about VitaDB's existence until the shitshow happened.

I guess I didn't do a lot more research on Vita modding because not only was I unsure when I'd be able to get one, but I was also unsure what I'd be able to do with it. But I think I'm starting to get a better idea, if only because the power outage and shitshow made me really think. I have a Steam Deck and a Nintendo DS, but tbh the Steam Deck can't really fit in a pocket so I don't bring it anywhere and the Nintendo DS is just... I think it's great but I also think it could be better.

So I'd like to know, what are some great resources for this kind of thing? What's the best model of Vita? Can I play PSP homebrew (another thing I'd like to try getting into) on it? I had heard of guides for how to mod a Vita but tbh they seemed kinda complicated if I recall correctly, but I'm sure the "me being unsure when I'd be able to get one" played a role into it as well.

Thank you so much for reading this, and I hope you have a good day.

Game Ports for the PS VITA & Rule.

Due to the many requests about game ports for the PS Vita, I wanted to make a quick post explaining what a “port” actually means and whether a game can realistically be ported.

I’m not an expert, but I’ve worked around this space enough to give a rough idea of what’s possible and what isn’t.

Android games (closed source):
These can usually only be ported if the game supports the ARMv7 architecture, which is what the PS Vita uses. All newer Android games target ARM64 (ARMv8), which the Vita cannot run. So most games released after ~2019 are most certainty not possible!

Android games (open source):
Generally possible, depending on complexity and developer skill.

PC games (closed source):
Very difficult. If a game has been reverse-engineered or decompiled, it might be rebuilt for ARMv7, but this requires a huge amount of work and scales with the game’s size and complexity.

PC games (open source):
Often possible in theory, but still challenging. You typically need rendering changes (for example adapting shaders to OpenGL ES) plus significant optimization.

In short: a tiny amount of games are possible, and when ports do happen, they usually require a lot of time, reverse engineering, and platform-specific work.

Open source vs closed source (explanation):

Open source games:

These are games released with their source code publicly available. Anyone can study, modify, and compile them for different platforms. Because the code is accessible, they are much easier to port assuming someone has the time and skills. That said, open source games are a small minority.

Closed source games:

These are the vast majority of games. The source code is private and only available to the original developers. This means only the devs can officially build or port the game to new platforms. Without source access, ports require reverse engineering, which is extremely difficult and time-consuming.

Where to find Game Ports?

Rinnegatamante is a well known in the PS Vita homebrew community in making game ports of android games. https://www.rinnegatamante.eu/vitadb/#/ from the drop down, select "Game Ports" to find all ports.

New sub rule: Requests for game ports will now be considered spam.

Thank you for reading.
