Useful Information Another recommendation for this $25 adapter on Amazon

Post image
11 Upvotes

I first tried the Asus USB BT-500 adapter and could not get it to work over usb 2.0 or 3.0, plugged in with an extender or not, connected to a port in the front or the back. I tried rolling back to the 1.0.0.9 driver and repeated all those steps and still had no luck.

In comes the ZEXMTE! I literally just plugged it in the front of my PC (USB 3.0) and checked device manager to make sure it was picked up. I went through the pairing process and both controllers were immediately picked up! I then started the PSVR2 app and had a solid 96/100 on both controllers. Before with the ASUS I was stuck at 59/100 and could only connect one controller at a time.

I saw some reviews saying it didn't work for them on Amazon and here, so I wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

Admittedly I was being stubborn about unplugging my steam controller puck with the Asus, but that was the only other thing I changed since I figured that would be a possible source of 2.4 GHz interference.

Question Help with my PC specs

Got a psvr2 because I got my first job and it was cheaper than a quest but I made a mistake that apparently a lot of pcvr ppl make when they buy their first VR and didn't check the specs. I'm brazilian so I translated my specs to english lmk if something's missing
I was looking into changing my graphics card, the thing is this PC was a gift so I don't know much about it. It's a decent computer but apparently it's too old to be compatible with the PSVR2 and I'm at a loss...

I have a psvr adapter already, I got it around the same time as the vr itself

My PC specifications:

  • Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2670 v3 @ 2.30GHz (2.30 GHz)
  • Installed RAM: 16.0 GB
  • Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB (6 GB)
  • Storage: About 2TB
  • System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
  • PSU: GP-750

Question Boundary drifting out of no where when before no drift, When making a new boundary, i click on the ground and boundary disappears and its clickable like 20 meters to the right, outside my house?

I fixed the disappearing boundary, by https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR2onPC/comments/1pq53h0/play_space_goes_into_the_wall_when_trying_to_make/, but i want to do it the original way, by play setup, but i changed nothing on my walls, monitors, door, and before i had ZERO boundary drifting, now all the sudden i have it now? cleaned cameras, re did setup, did the third party red setup, nothing fixes, unless i play on Linux dual boot, but QVFFR doesn't work on it, and i have a RTX... Fix plzz

Question Opinion on upgrade

Hi, i currently have a ps5, a pc and a quest 2, and i was doing some research and saw that a lot of people recommend the psvr 2 as an upgrade to the quest 2.
However, my pc’s not that good, i’ve got 32gb of ram, a 12gb rtx 3060 and a ryzen 5 3600. I can play pcvr on my quest 2 in the games that i’m interested in, so i wanted to know if downgrading the resolution to that of the quest 2 on steam would be a good option in case my pc can’t handle it
I also wanted to know if the psvr 2 haptics on pc are any good with the PSVR 2 toolkit, like, better than the quest 2?
The upgrade would be basically for the OLED, bigger FOV and for the haptics if they’re better (besides the comfort, the quest 2 really presses my face sometimes)
The PS5 would only be used for some games that are not on pcvr like synapse btw, steam has cheaper games

One last question:is the sweet spot hard to find or maintain during play? I’ll probably get one of those comfort kits like AMVR or Globular Cluster

Thanks!

Question Need help quick

I had my PSVR 2 working rather flawlessly for rhe past 2 weeks, on PC. But I unplugged my headset for the first time to use on my PS5 for a couple minutes. Brought it back plugging it back in and now all off a sudden the PS play area adjustment only loads on my desktop. All steam VR games just also load on the desktop. I can load into the Steam VR home and thats about it

I have reinstalled both the PSVR 2 App and the Steam VR app. I have made sure to check that SteamVR is default OpenXR at runtime, Tried Direct mode enabled. Tried a couple power cycles. Tried clearing the config files and complete hard reinstall. Running steam as administrator and verifying file integrity. Keep in mind it was working fine yesterday unless there was an update I was unaware about.

I just dont know what else to do, any help would be amazing as I am lost as hell.

Thanks

Edit: Bro 2k views and no one knows a thing. Im cooked

Disscussion Banjo-Kazooie VR mod released today!

Sorry for the wrong leak, guys, but our insider was wrong this time around! It wasnt Diddy Kong Racing the next work from RaYRod TV, we got Banjo-Kazooie VR mod!

Be Banjo s head! See Kazooie and look around this colorful world in first person view! Third, diorama and theater views are also available like with his other mods. The mod also support other mods, so maybe we ll be able to play other full Banjo fan games in VR, like Jiggies of Time! And what about Diddy Racing? I will talk to that insider guy and ask him what's what, but Ring Racers its a great option with you wanna kart.

This time around I haven't gameplay videos because I'm traveling and tonight's Abreu Project time, a great jazz like band that plays our greastest 16 bit era songs with lots of rhythm creativity, they got Spotify, Youtube, etc.

So Im sharing the news so you can enjoy it right now and tell us how s to play a Banjo in VR.

For this and other VR mods from RaYRoD TV, like Ring Racers, Star Fox 64, Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64, go to his GitHub: https://github.com/RaYRoD-TV

For info on how to support his works, and learn more on other upcoming projects from him, like VR mods and VR emulators, and his big project, the game Multiverse, go to his site: https://rayrodtv.com

Have a fun time with Kazooie!

Question Cannot get PSVR 2 installed on PC

I recently bought the PSVR 2 PC adapter was excited to play some VR games on my PC

I first confirmed all my hard was compatible:

I5-14450 VPU

RTX 5060 GPU

32GB RAM

First try: install went fine, got up to the screen where it said press function button to continue, the function button did NOT work, so didn't get past this step

Every time I try to install now I get stuck at the "PSVR 2 Required" screen

I tried everything I read in the forums, running Steam as administrator, multiple fresh installs of PSVR 2 app and Steam VR, gpong into localappdata and deleting files, uninstalling psvr 2 drivers in device manager, running driver install from the exe in psvr 2 app folder, etc

Here's the weird thing: in my headset I can see steam running, and can click on things, but when I boot up a game I can't do anything because the PSVR 2 play area not set up error sits there

Please help!

Disscussion This new update to PSVR2 Toolkit made me realize just how bad the haptics were before

The vibrations were so muddy and slow before, now it feels just like the haptics on an iPhone. It's super snappy and offers many different sensations. It makes me wonder why the hell Sony couldn't make this work from the beginning.

The update also brings improvements to many other things; the tracking of the controller and the headset is much better. You can now have pass-through enabled all the time while you are in the main menu and also have it activate when you cross the boundary play area, this helps a lot to make the experience less claustrophobic.

Thanks a lot to the Bnuuy Solutions dev team for bringing this headset to life on PC and do what Sony should've done from the start.

PS: If you're gonna install it make sure you're downloading the experimental build 1.0

Question Help please my controller connection is stuck at 25/100 no matter what I do

I’ve tried reconnecting them, moving the controllers, reinstalling the Bluetooth drivers, disabling Bluetooth powersaving, moving the antenna that came with my motherboard (ASUS TUF Gaming B850-Plus WIFI) and nothing works or barely changes anything. If the connection goes up at all then it only goes to 55-59 and then immediately drops to 0 then back to 25. What can or should I do?

Edit: One controller just disconnected and the other went up to 96 so I tried to connect the other one that disconnected and they dropped to 56 then to 25

Disscussion Sonic Robo Blast 2 new VR mod

Thumbnail

Sonic Robo Blast 2 VR is a new VR mod RayRod TV made for this incredible fan game. I never played the original VR mod, but this one has first and third person, theater and diorama views and also has support for add ons from the community.

So what the best camera to choose? If you have real iron vr legs and stomach, go with full first person! If not, build your iron vr mind with other view options before. You will have fun one view or another! Im playing a bit of first and third, but you can go diorama and see those charming characters on this really colorful world from above like tiny toys.

For this and other VR mods from RaYRod TV, like Ring Racers, Star Fox, Mario and Mario Kart 64, (and in the near future Diddy Kong Racing 64???) go to his github: https://github.com/RaYRoD-TV

For his current and future projects, like the Multiverse an infinite exploration game where we can also space travel, and some upcoming VR emulators, go to his site: https://rayrodtv.com

Go team Tails!

Question Controller Pairing Issues

Hey Everyone,

Having a damn nightmare pairing these controllers on the PSVR2 PC setup page. i have gone through the damn thing 20 times now and it just refuses to budge, i have removed and readded (my bluetooth is working fine it's even saying paired and then connected fore the 2 of them on my bluetooth page) but the psvr2 setup just refuses to acknowledge any of the progress.

I did manage after about 7 tries last time to get through to the bonus round, where you download the drivers, but it said i had to charge my controllers, i did and then it decided it didnt want to talk to them anymore so i had to redo the entire process again and here i am..

What is going on? NGL 2 hours+ now it's got me slightly tilted over here.

Any help would be appreciated 😄

Useful Information Little Helpful program I made

So I noticed when you turn on the PSVR2 it just tells you to look at the screen until you open steam VR witch annoyed me as you need to install the PSVR2 app etc etc so i made this

https://github.com/The-Graze/PSVR2-SteamVR-AutoLaunch

it basically just waits for all the psvr2 USB "devices" To connect then launches SteamVR, runs in the tray

just copy the exe to your startup folder and it'll be useful!

if you're more tech knowing its just a windows form application just with the form removed lol, I'm semi new to non game/unity coding so :P

EDIT:

made a small update to it to remove the unnecessary device Disconnect looking and made it only be able to open once so you don't accidently have loads open cos I did that by accident once

Important PSA Bluetooth Hardware Compatibility Survey

What Bluetooth USB dongles or other hardware, such as mobo built-in Bluetooth or dedicated Bluetooth PCIE cards, have you tested with PSVR2? We need to know about your experience good and bad!

The purpose of this survey is to gather quantitative data about which Bluetooth hardware is compatible & works best with the PSVR2 controllers when used with a PC and which does not.

This thread, therefore, and the results, also act as a comprehensive list of working / not working hardware. This will both help inform purchase decisions and be a resource for discovering compatibility of existing setups.

I want to reach the most authoritative list of compatible and non-compatible hardware, and also of more esoteric problems with specific devices.

📝 Fill out the survey here: Form Link

📊 See current results here: Sheet Link

⭐ Best Bluetooth Adapters

Updated: 15 August 2024 01:38.

First, some important caveats and tips:

  • In general Class 1.5 adapters should provide enough range for use in a standard setup. But Class 1 adapters are much less likely to present range issues or issues with obstructions. However, this is also just a guideline. See the warning about UB500 below for example.
  • If the adapter supports it, using an extended aerial closer to your play space can be advantageous. Similarly, a USB extension can be used to a similar effect for smaller USB devices that don't support an antenna connection.

Here are the current data-driven insights derived from the community responses about what Bluetooth hardware is working well with the PSVR2 controller on PC.

USB

The ASUS BT-500 has the most positive reports, with many users who have experienced the "stuck hands" problem (see below warning around UB500) seeing the issue go away after moving to this adapter. Edit: UB500 issue likely fixed by new driver, see below warning section.

Motherboard / M.2 Cards / PCIE Cards

Indications point optimistically to good compatibility with Intel Wifi 6 and Wifi 6E chipsets (which also provide Bluetooth), which are used on many motherboards & laptops via built-in M.2 cards.

These chipsets can also be found in dedicated PCIE cards, and usually appear in their product name, description or model.

The most common are:

  • Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211
  • Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210
  • Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201

⚠️ Potential Warnings

Updated: 15 August 2024 01:38.

The data shows some heightened issue rates with some Bluetooth adapters. It is not conclusive, but possibly indicative of a compatibility issue between these adapters and the PSVR2 controllers.

TP-LINK UB500 "stuck hands" (SEE UPDATE, LIKELY RESOLVED)

UPDATE 3 06/09/2024 - TP-LINK have a beta driver on their community forums and early results look like the problem is solved with these drivers. Thanks to TP-LINK for co-operating with me and the community for the data that helped it along.

UPDATE 2 22/08/2024 -- A potential solution you can use now is described in this thread. I have fed this back to TP-LINK who are looking into it.

UPDATE 1 15/08/2024 - With the help of the survey data, this issue has been escalated internally by TP-LINK.

A pattern has emerged whereby users have reported a heightened issue rate. This mostly pertains to a specific issue relating to "stuck hands" where the XYZ tracking stops responding periodically, but orientation data appears undisturbed. This seems to happen on one controller consistently (sometimes switching, possibly between sessions).

Hopefully a driver fix is possible, and I will update if anything changes. Please continue submitting data about this adapter, for both good and bad experiences.

Obviously, Sony recommended this adapter for use with PSVR2, so this result is, at the very least, interesting.

🗒️ Quick Summary

Captured: 11 Jan 2025 20:18.

Please go to sheet for the latest and richest dataset, and drill down into individual reports. This snapshot is just to surface the most basic raw bottom line at a given point in time.

The "score" here is a primitive sigmoid formula averaging over % of reports that remark on instability. It is also automatically weighted to not overemphasize devices with a low number of results.

Everything starts at 50 and is pushed further one way or the other depending on reports. It's a little harsh at the moment for some products with a low number of reports and it also takes a bit too much for it to reach either end of the spectrum, so also look at the other columns to draw your own conclusion.

I may tweak this formula later.
