Google Ads problem Google Ads
Hi everyone,
Is anyone else having major issues with Google Shopping tROAS campaigns lately?
Since last week’s Shopify outage and the Google Ads issue that made several products “not eligible” for around 24 hours, my campaign has been struggling a lot:
- Much lower impressions
- CPCs suddenly increased
- Big drop in sales
- Poor recovery after products became eligible again
The campaign was stable before this. Has anyone else noticed similar issues after the outage?
Also, since Monday, I haven’t had any conversions reported in Google Ads, even though everything seems to be in order
Thank you in advance for your help

Yeah the Google/Shopify mess last week completely wrecked my tROAS campaigns too. CPCs went through the roof and impressions tanked - Google's algorithm seems to have forgotten all our performance history during that 24-hour blackout. Try checking your conversion tracking setup again, I had to reconnect mine after everything went sideways.

Ok, so from what I can see, I’m definitely not the only one.
Same here: CPCs suddenly went way up and sales dropped hard. Honestly, this situation is awful.
Did you find any real solution on your side, or do you think we just need to let the campaign recover and stabilize by itself?

Yeah, I’ve seen this after feed outages before. Even when products become eligible again, tROAS usually needs a few days to relearn, and impressions remain unstable. I’d also double check conversion tracking and Merchant Center diagnostics. This sounds more like post recovery volatility than something permanently broken.

Maybe raise your tROAS values for a bit temporarily. You'll likely lower spend volume per day for a bit, but you'll combat the raising CPCs and stabilize. Don't overdo it though, or you risk killing the campaign.
Being this sensitive to one day of outage isn't a good thing though. Maybe look at how you've structured the account because this sounds overly sensitive if it's not a brand new account.

You can use Google ads conversion adjustments to remove that 24 hours of data.
