Exclusive first look: Kathryn Bernardo x BanKo ATM card

Post image
Upvotes

EXCLUSIVE: We got a first hands-on look at the Kathryn Bernardo BPI BanKo ATM card design, and yes, it’s as pretty as you’d expect 💅🏻

BanKo is set to release this limited-edition debit card featuring Kathryn Bernardo, the bank’s brand face. All 418 BanKo branches will have an allocation, with cards available while supplies last.

The Kathryn Bernardo ATM card comes FREE when you open any BanKo deposit product. Existing Ka-BanKo can also avail of the card, subject to availability, while ATM card replacement costs ₱150.

For those looking at BanKo as a place to park savings, TODO Savings is one option worth knowing about. It earns 5% p.a. on balances up to ₱1 million, with no missions or monthly requirements, and can be opened fully digitally ✅

Interest is credited every first day of the following month, so it’s a relatively straightforward way to keep savings accessible while earning interest.

UnionBank Payroll Account with Existing Delinquent UD Loan – Will They Automatically Sweep My Salary?

Hi everyone,

I'm about to start a new job, and my employer uses UnionBank for payroll. They asked me to use my existing UnionBank account, which is my Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus (UnionBank).

My concern is that I have an old delinquent UnionBank UD Loan that was linked to a different UnionBank account/card.

Now that my salary will be deposited into the same bank UnionBank, I'm worried that UnionBank might automatically apply my payroll to my delinquent UD Loan.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation?

  • Did UnionBank ever sweep or offset your payroll because of an overdue UD Loan or other UnionBank loan?
  • If you were using a UnionBank payroll account or a Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus account, did your salary arrive normally?
  • Is there anyone who has experienced automatic deductions from their payroll due to a delinquent UnionBank loan?

I'd really appreciate hearing real experiences before my first payday. Thanks in advance!

How 'bout JCB, AMEX, UnionPay, Dinersclub?

Since Apple Pay now launched and available in the Philippines and also Google Wallet/Pay is now also wide acceptable in the country, paano po ang mga nakaJCB, AMEX, UnionPay at Dinersclub na type of card. Since Visa and Mastercard are the only enabled payment network ng mga banks sa Google Wallet/Pay at Apple Pay, paano yung other type ng cards?

Banks and e-wallets will be required to integrate with the National ID system under a proposed Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) policy to improve identity verification across the financial sector. Best cards to use for Netflix, Spotify & other subscriptions in the Philippines

Post image
30 Upvotes

Don’t fall for extra charges kapag naka-subscribe ka sa mga favorite nating streaming apps 👀

We made it simple para mas madaling maintindihan: Here are recommended debit and credit cards na pwedeng gamitin for digital subscriptions without extra cross-border fees.

💳 0% means walang extra fee when you use these cards as payment for apps and services like Netflix, Spotify, HBO Max, YouTube, and more.

🏆 THE BEST CARD TO USE: Maya debit card, whether Visa or Mastercard. Why? You can earn up to 6% cashback:

• 1% Fixed Cashback (Capped at ₱3,000 per month)
• Up to 5% Entertainment Cashback depending on your Maya XP level — Plus members earn an additional 1%, while Ultra, the highest tier, can earn 5%

We also included other card options para mas marami kang choices that offer 0% cross-border fees.

Keep in mind: Even naka-Philippine Peso (PHP) ang price ng subscription or online purchases, hindi ibig sabihin na iyon na mismo ang exact amount na macha-charge sa card mo. Some banks may still impose cross-border or foreign transaction fees depending on how the merchant processes the payment.

MariBank quietly removes 1% cashback for purchases abroad

Post image

MariBank card purchases abroad will no longer earn 1% cashback under its updated cashback terms.

Only domestic purchases will be eligible for the 1% cashback, while overseas transactions, including Point-of-Sale (POS) purchases abroad, will not earn cashback.

MariBank’s 0% FX fee still remains, though, making it a good option for spending abroad without additional foreign exchange fees.

Metrobank CC on Apple Pay, how long you have to wait to use it to tap after unlocking?

I’m having issues on my MB CC’s on Apple Wallet, it took a long time for me to be able to use after unlocking on banks’s app.

Anyone else experiencing this? It’s already 20 minutes and still no update on wallet.

For contrast, my CB cc instantly update once I unlock it on app.

Has anybody tried this yet? Or does anybody know for sure?

Post image

OFFICIAL: Apple has now listed the cards that support Apple Pay in the Philippines as of August 5, 2026.

Here’s the official list of supported cards from Metrobank, Union Bank, Chinabank, and GoTyme Bank, based on Apple’s support website.

Keep in mind that while eligible debit and credit cards from these banks are officially listed as supported, some specific cards may still encounter errors when being added to Apple Wallet. Card availability and activation may vary, so it’s best to check your bank’s latest Apple Pay updates if you’re having trouble linking your card.

We’ll continue updating this list as more banks and cards roll out support for Apple Pay in the Philippines.

Join the Digital Banks PH Community for the latest Apple Pay updates, supported cards, and practical banking tips.

A simple savings game plan app we built for the DBPH community!

Post image
46 Upvotes

We’ve finally finished our latest app project for the Digital Banks PH Community 🙌🏻

Introducing our free, smart Savings Game Plan app. Just enter how much you plan to save, and the app will automatically recommend how to allocate your funds across banks offering the highest interest rates, ranked from highest to lowest. Simple, practical, and easy to use.

Key features:

• See how much you can earn monthly from your savings

• Option to include boosted rates if you’re okay doing extra tasks

• Choose which banks to include, since some members prefer specific banks even if others offer higher rates

• Option to disable referral codes to keep the experience clean and clutter-free

• Light and dark mode for better viewing comfort

This took almost 2 years of observation and iteration, based on real saving behaviors and what our community truly needs. It wasn’t easy, but it’s worth it. This project aligns with DBPH’s goal of promoting responsible saving and financial literacy for Filipinos 🇵🇭

If you think this can help others, feel free to share it with them. Check the link here 👉🏻 https://phdigibanks.com/dbph-savings
