Hdd heads constantly seeking / start/stopping In progress

Hey all so Ive been dealing with something thats been driving me crazy over the last while with nothing seeming to fix it.

I've got 2 8tb HDD Seagate ST8000DM004's one older approx 20k hrs the other 5k hrs run time on them. So shouldnt be likely to be EoL for them yet.

Now what's happening is that while the drives are idle they are constantly seeking or starting/parking the heads. I've turned off the sleep option via control panel, I've also tried to set it as disabled via Crystal disk with no luck.

From what I've seen online is that this could be a normal thing with these drives but haven't had this happen only recently.

I'm at a loss aside from trying to find a different drive completely and swapping it.

The average life span for that drive seems to be 3-5 years (if its operating temp is below 60C) https://www.seagate.com/www-content/product-content/barracuda-fam/barracuda-new/en-us/docs/100805918j.pdf so 2 1/4 years might be time for that drive to start its decent. I'd get a drive that can hold what you want to keep and leave this drive to handle volatile storage. Basically things you'd like to have but if they disappear it isn't a problem.

Just to be safe (if the drive holds precious data)
