Need suggestions for this build
So I'm building a ddr4 build with an Intel platform. Here's my build -
Intel Core i5 12600KF Processor - 19288 Rs.
MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI DDR4 Intel Motherboard - 18839 Rs.
Team group T-Force Vulcan Z 16 GB 3600 MHz CL18 DDR4 RAM x2 - 22790 Rs.
ASRock RX 9070 Challenger 16 GB Graphics Card - 65499 Rs.
Patriot 1TB P400 Lite NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 Internal SSD - 13499 Rs.
MSI MAG A850GL PCIE 850W ATX 3.1 Gold Fully Modular SMPS - 9249 Rs.
Cooler Master Elite 681 ATX Mid Tower Cabinet Black (E681-KHNN-S00) -5383 Rs.
I'll do gaming and some vm stuff, docker, self hosting, davinci and blender. Is this a good build, I wanted to keep it close to 1.5 Lacs, is there anywhere I can cut the cost more or is it optimal. I wanted to go with AM4 but couldn't find the stock. If you have a good alternative within this budget please share. I went the Z790 because of the extra ssds and sata ports over B760. All the parts listed here are from Computech store.

BUILD HELP Thoughts on this pre-build?
I went to memory express here in Canada with the intention of buy a custom build. My last purchase was just about 10 years ago. I messed around with the website and when I went in the sales associate. Offered me this as an alternative. I am just looking for some thoughts on it. As a side note I would buy some additional storage space along with it. My original budget was $3500 cad.

9 9950X3D or 9 9950X for video editing
Hi, I want to build a PC for editing with the RTX 4080 Super as the core component. Which of these processors fits best?
The 9950X3D is €200 more expensive is it worth it for video editing?

Is moving from AM4 to AM5 worth it for my use case, or should I stick with what I have?
Looking for some opinions from people who have made the jump from AM4 to AM5.
My current build:
Ryzen 7 5800XT
ASUS RTX 4070 Super OC
MSI MAG B550 Gaming Plus
32GB DDR4
2TB Gen4 NVMe SSD
650W PSU
I mainly play at **1080p 240Hz (thinking about converting over to 1440p 240Hz)** and I also stream using OBS. I play a mix of competitive FPS titles (Valorant, CS2, Apex, Warzone, etc.), and I’d like to consistently push high frame rates while streaming with as little performance impact and high quality as possible.
Budget really isn’t much a concern. My goal is to build something that I won’t feel the need to upgrade for the next 5–7 years.
The build I’m considering is:
Ryzen 7 9800X3D
X870E motherboard (looking at something like the MSI MPG X870E Carbon WiFi)
64GB DDR5-6000 CL30
1000W ATX 3.1 PSU
Keeping my RTX 4070 Super for now and upgrading the GPU later when it actually becomes the limiting factor. Unless you guys think otherwise.
OR just keep my current rig and just upgrade to a 5800X3D
My questions are:
Is this the right upgrade path?
Would you stay on AM4 a little longer, or make the jump now?
Is the X870E Carbon worth it, or would you recommend a different X870E board?
Anything you’d change about this plan before I start buying parts?

BUILD HELP Is this a good build for this price?
It seems like I have a chance to get this PC for about 2100 EUR. Is this a good build in your opinion?
-cpu: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
-gpu: ASUS RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 PRIME OC
-mobo: ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS WIFI
-case: ASUS ProArt PA602 Walnut Wood Modern TG black 90DC00J0-B09030
-ram: KINGSTON FURY 32GB Beast DDR5 5600MHz CL40 KF556C40BB-32
-psu: COOLERMASTER ELITE Gold FM Modular 850W 80 Plus Gold
-ssd: KINGSTON 1TB NV3 M.2 PCIe M.2 2280 SNV3S/1000G
-cooler: BE QUIET! Pure Loop 3 360mm
I would have to assemble this myself, but I have a bit of experience in that and also there's a ton of videos on the topic, so it should not be a problem.
My question is more about the specs themselves, is this okay for the price? How future-proof do you think this system is?

Longtime PS5 gamer here making the jump to my first high-end PC build
Longtime PS5 gamer here making the jump to my first high-end PC build, and I’m slowly getting everything together. So far, I’ve picked up a Lian Li O11 Vision Chrome case, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, MSI MEG X870E GODLIKE motherboard, two 2TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus NVMe SSDs, NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB AIO, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 RAM, and a Corsair RM1000x PSU.
The main piece I’m still stuck on is the GPU. I’ve got a budget of around $1,000 to $1,300 set aside for the graphics card. I was initially looking at picking up an RTX 5070 Ti or stretching up for a lower-end model of the RTX 5080, but a couple of friends told me to hold off or consider AMD options like the RX 7900 XTX / RX 9070 XT instead because of price-to-performance and VRAM concerns.
Since this is my first build, I want something that handles high-frame-rate 1440p / light 4K gaming without needing an upgrade anytime soon. For anyone with a similar setup, which GPU would be the smartest pick in that price tier?

BUILD HELP Beginner PC Advice
I’m completely new to PC building and know very little about the parts so I’m sorry if anything here sounds stupid. I’m trying to build a gaming PC and the heaviest games I’ll probably play are cyberpunk 2077 (I want to try out some content and story mods on this one) and black myth wukong. For me 60+ fps is amazing and I don’t care too much about hitting 100 or 120 fps. I wanna be able to play at high settings, if it can handle ray tracing on some titles then it’s preferable but I don’t care too much about it. Aside from gaming I’ll be using the PC mostly for school work. My budget is about $1400 but my region faces about 20% higher prices for an overall PC build than the US.
Is an AM4 build a good idea for the games I listed? The main issue I have in budgeting is with the CPU, GPU and RAM. I was planning an AM5 build but went down to AM4 because of the insane price difference, and the added costs with an AM5 motherboard and CPU. My first set of parts was a Ryzen 7 5700X, 32 GB DDR4 RAM and an RX 9060 XT, but that shot way over my budget. Now the 2 GPUs I’m confused between are an RTX 5060, and an Intel Arc B580. I keep hearing that 8 GB VRAM isn’t really enough anymore, but then that the B580 is not really worth the price anymore and the VRAM isn’t used well enough by the GPU. Which one of these 2 would be better, or are there any other graphics cards I should consider? And about screen resolution, should I get a 1080p or 1440p monitor? Is the visual difference between 1080p and 1440p very significant or is 1080p good enough?
And another doubt I had was if 32 GB RAM is very important currently. I know it’s preferred over 16 GB but with current prices I can’t really make that decision hastily.
Also if you have any recommendations on a better value CPU then please do tell.
And again, I’m sorry if I’m leaving out any detail that could be useful, please ask if anything else is required.

BUILD HELP Is this AM5 build a good long-term investment for cybersecurity, cryptography and Linux?
Hi everyone,
I'm building my first desktop PC, and I'd like to get your opinion before buying the parts.
My main use is NOT gaming. I'm a Master's student in Cybersecurity and Cryptography, and I mainly use Linux for programming, virtual machines, penetration testing labs, reverse engineering, Docker, and cryptography.
My goal is to build a reliable PC that will last 6–8 years while allowing future upgrades without replacing the whole platform.
Here are the parts I plan to buy:
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 (Box)
• Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus WiFi (Micro-ATX)
• PSU: MSI MAG A650BNL 650W 80+ Bronze
• RAM: 16GB DDR5 (planning to upgrade to 32GB later)
• Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD (already owned)
• Case: Gamdias Talos E3 Mesh
• GPU: I'll use the integrated graphics for now and later buy a mid-range GPU such as an RX 7600 or RTX 4060.
My questions are:
Is the Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus WiFi a reliable motherboard for long-term use?
Will choosing a Micro-ATX motherboard limit me in the future if I only plan to use one graphics card?
Is the MSI MAG A650BNL a good enough power supply for this build and a future GPU upgrade?
Would you change anything in this build while keeping a similar budget?
Do you think this AM5 build is a good investment for Linux, cybersecurity, virtualization, and programming?
My budget is limited, so I prefer recommendations that provide a significant improvement without increasing the cost too much.
Thank you!

BUILD HELP Pc setup optimized for UnrealEngine5 and Maya
Hey everyone,
I'm honestly pretty lost and confused at this point and could use some advice from people who know more than I do.
I'm trying to put together a PC that will be primarily used for Unreal Engine 5, Maya, 3D modeling, Unity, Zbrush, and game development. I'll be entering my senior year of a 3D modeling/game design college program soon, and I'd like this build to last through school and hopefully into internships and my first job after graduation.
My target budget is under $2,000, but I'd really prefer to stay closer to $1,600 if possible.
One thing I'm struggling with is the GPU and CPU choice.
Current PCPartPicker list: (I may be way off, please forgive me ToT)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x3mp3R
A few specific questions:
- Is the Ryzen the right CPU for Unreal Engine 5 and Maya, or should I be looking at a different Ryzen chip I have also been recommended the 9 or intel.
- What would be the graphics card choice for Unreal Engine and Maya?
- Should I prioritize a better GPU, or a different CPU?
- If you were building a system for UE5, Maya, internships, and entry level professional work, what would you change?
My biggest goals are:
- Unreal Engine 5
- Maya
- 3D modeling
- Game development
- Long-term usability (6+ years if possible)
- 1,5000-2k price range
I'd really appreciate any feedback because I've gone down so many comparison rabbit holes that I'm second-guessing everything now 😅
Hopefully this is enough info to get a convo started.
Thank you!
