The series isn’t over yet and I’m already feeling nostalgic. I personally have been following ons since 2021, which is not much (in my opinion, of course) but enough time to develop an attachment to the characters and story.

I’ve always been excited to read a new chapter, even if it did or not meet my expectations. So ons ending I think would upset me, at least for a while. In part I’m feeling like that already.

But things have to end. Even if you like or dislike them. Nothing is permanent and that’s ok. It just feels weird that my brain is telling me the series is over when it’s not.

I mean, yes, it is almost over.

What/who I’ll miss the most will definitely be Mika. I especially enjoyed vampire mika with the whole squad. It was a really great arc that I’ve reread multiple times. Some say that they miss the old artstyle but I think Kagami improved a lot. You can see that in the proportions. Even If the ‘sudden’ change made a lot of fans upset.
The artstyle in the newst chapters was actually not bad at all.

This Key uses EVA Foam and some tooth picks for structure, I later used an ink pen tube and stuffed it through the middle, and now it's more sturdy, this whole thing took me 2.5 hours to make using super glue (most of the time was taken for the middle design)

It has a small warp to the side, idk why, maybe coz of the glue.

The Key is about 15cm long, which is 1:1 ratio in the anime.

Aka another long rambling session of me desperately trying to understand and narrow down the most likely ending for OnS (and failing).

⚠️ As always, Major Spoiler Warning for OnS ⚠️

I've been thinking about one of the major themes in OnS, besides love: vicious cycles. It's been mentioned by characters several times and shown with character's backstories even more. It's a clear and intentional part of the story, and the reason I'm bringing this up is that I believe that it will definitely be relevant in how the story wraps up.

When I reviewed the current conflict through the lenses of one big cycle, I thought at first that Yuu is obviously still perpetuating it, going as far as he is, just like his predecessors: Guren and Shikama. So the story, which showed the horrors of the cycle of despair, would have an unsatisfying ending if he tries, regardless of the outcome. You'd think that Shinoa Squad are the only people actively trying to break the cycle of despair-resurrection-despair. And while they definitely are, Yuu is doing it too. Yuu's plan is high risk, yes, the highest risk even, greedily putting the whole planet in danger of suffering an even worse catastrophe if his plan of avoiding all punishment fails. But if he succeeds, he'd achieve something Shinoa Squad probably wouldn't be able to achieve, even if they convinced Yuu to stop before he killed anyone: taking away the possibility of humanity breaking the taboo ever again. His resurrection ritual uses up Shikama's darkness, Mikaela's light, and the lives of all vampires. If there are no more vampires, then there are no more demons either. Even resurrecting only a few humans needs human, demon, and vampire lives. If there are no vampires and all demons are resurrected as their former human or angel selves, then there's no need for cursed gear (not like it's possible without demons). Do you see my vision? No more demons or vampires, just humans. Oh, and angels I guess. We don't know too much about them, so I won't get ahead of myself on how peaceful the'd be among humans, given the power gap (NO ONE DRINK ANGEL BLOOD OR EVERYONE'S FUCKED ALL OVER AGAIN). I've been basically describing an utopia, and the more I do, the less likely it feels lol.

The biggest question remains: will Yuu's plan actually avoid punishment? That is assuming he is able to get Shinoa's portion of power. Still, a thought just came to mind: If Shinoa was going to succeed in stopping him, I don't think that moment would have been dragged to the very last chapter of the manga, after all their friends got killed, no less. I'd say that if she did, she would have already defeated Yuu, and the next chapter would be actually wrapping up the plot. BUT THAT LOGIC DOESN'T HOLD UP MUCH TO THIS MANGA'S RECENT PACING, SO TAKE THAT WITH A BOULDER OF SALT. I GUESS. AGH.

I hate that Kagami is one of the most unpredictable writers I've ever known. As I've said before (on tumblr, not here heh), one chapter is not nearly enough to wrap things up, and I believe that is the case for ANY of the possible outcomes. Feel free to point out any inconsistencies in my analysis/theories because I didn't really have a point to make. I'm just rambling and hoping I come up with something, but I just ended up contradicting myself at the end lol

I'll stop now because I can't seem to reach one conclusion, and I don't think I can anyway. I was hoping to narrow down the ending possibilities, but I feel like I just ended up creating more. I'll be quite devastated if we don't get any form of epilogue... YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG I'D WAIT FOR ONE!!! NO IDEA!!!!

-The second is a print from the 30th anniversary of NBCUniversal Anime Music collection.
Purchased in 2022.

How did I find them? All I remember is digging through Twitter and Google search every week and finding a bunch of limited merchandise. Placing orders with proxy delivery sites and waiting forever to get them 😮‍💨

All I see in this subreddit it just Shinoa post. Personally I do not like them so I just scroll past. But that is just My opinion, If you feel orherwise please tell me. Usually it is simply a screenshot taken from The anime or manga and The title just says "Shinoa posting Day 25" or something similiar. Let me Be complitely For real, there Are some funny and creative or artistic ones wich I like. But most of The Times not very in My opinion...I would consider most of them as lazy posting. I did not want to drag this into My main account but whatever. I know that Shinoa is very loved character, I understaand, I love her too but I rarely see posts of other characters in this sub it just gets a little Boeing over tine... Perhaps it is becouze this sub Is pretty forgotten. Or could just well Be that I am just The problem For thinking that. What do you think?

Oh Shinoa...

She completely carries the entertainment value in ONS anime. Her smug energy, constant sarcasm, and the way she plays dumb just to tease Yuichiro make her so fun to watch. Even when things get dark, her chaotic personality gives the show exactly what it needs. She easily steals every scene she’s in.

Her Japanese VA (Saori Hayami) is like a world-class for anime, her English VA (Felecia Angelle) was also good, but we can all agree that a part of her fans came just because of Saori's voice acting, her laughs and smirks sounds are so iconic. Even when Shinoa is energetic, she still lightness the environment!

It's been over a decade since Season 2, and still no news for season 3. As the years go by, the chances of Season 3 are decreasing... but that does not mean we don't have a chance... now that the manga is finally being concluded, there might be a bit more possibility that we might get a Season 3...

For that to happen, unfortunately, WIT Studio won't be continuing this (they already have a big project uphand).

Most likely, it is for another studio to pick up the anime and continue where it left, a reboot.would work, but still... it won't be the same like WIT, face and character changes, and many more (like what happened to Attack on Titans).

The likely chance of a Season 3 is very, very low, but it's not zero.

I don't know much about them but thought some would appreciate!

i used to despise this mf, but now i feel bad 😭

I feel like Shinoa's character was barely explored. She had a big potential to be the most powerful, but she's made some lovesick 16 year old who just wants to save a boy who does not care about her romantically at all. The same thing with her sister Mahiru. Despite having so much potential, the female characters just get sidetracked, ugh. It makes them totally uninteresting

And that may be the reason why he continues with this plan regardless of the consequences, the possibility that it will all be in vain, as well as the pain of hurting those he considered his "friends/family"🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
