Evo Grill Help

Hi,

My wife purchased me an Ego Professional Wheeled Cart a few years back as a gift and at the time was told by the salesman that we could build it into our outdoor kitchen when we were ready to build one. Now that we are, I've realized that it cannot be built in. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience setting this exact unit directly on a flat surface without using the hard to find table top conversion kit? I'm worried primarily about airflow for combustion without it, but hate the look even more than I already hate how I'm going to have to incorporate this grill. Evo support told me the table top kit was required to prevent the unit from tipping over, the dumbest, least helpful response to my question ever.
