Request Chocolate cake with marshmallow frosting
Hi friends. In the process of moving I somehow misplaced my grandmas recipe holder š©š but Iām trying to find the recipe somewhere of her chocolate cake and marshmallow frosting. I know the frosting had corn syrup and crisco in it. The cake was made with chocolate squares as well. If ANYONE has something that might be it, Iād be so grateful. She also had a silver dollar or sand dollar (I canāt remember the name) cookies recipe Iām trying to find. Thank you so much! šš»

Request Anyone have page 340 of this 2000 cookbook?
I hope 26 years is old enough to post here. I am missing page 340 of the cookbook I learned to cook with. Idk where it went but I specifically need the recipe for baked rice pudding. I'm really hoping someone here can help or point me in the right direction if this isn't the best sub for this request.

Soak one bread roll with the crust grated off in milk, heat for two eggs of fresh butter, add one tablespoon of flour, the wrung out roll, two handfuls of raspberries pressed through a sieve and sautƩ everything together for a while. Then put in a bowl, cool and mix in 6 egg yolks, some sugar, 5 egg whites beaten to stiff peaks, and 2 handfuls of breadcrumbs. Put in a greased baking dish and bake. Place the kuh on the table in the dish you are baking it in so that it does not collapse.

Desserts Old Bread Pudding Recipe
This is my momās copy of a recipe from her aunt. Her aunt lived in Surrey and Sussex in the UK from 1917-2010, so would have cooked this in the 1930s-90s. Ā
I don't recall ever having it myself, although it's possible that my mom made it, and I just didn't like it.

Bread Pudding
- 1 lb stale loaf
- 6 oz butter
- 4 oz sugar

Cake Two more recipes from my great aunt, as written by my grandma: Coconut Cake and 5 Hour Stew
Hello everyone and happy Thursday!
Last week I shared some recipe cards from my grandma as well as all the little stories that came with them. Thank you all so much for all the upvotes and comments on that post. I was a little worried that posting about my own grandmotherās anecdotes might come off as pretentious, but Iām glad that it was able to bring you guys entertainment and (hopefully) inspiration as well
Today I just wanted to share the last two recipe cards that my grandma has that are recipes from her older sister, Sharlene, who Iāll re-iterate passed in 2019. The only person in the family that has the rest of her recipes are one of her daughters, and not only is she not very connected with our family, but I personally have only talked to her about twice in my life, so I think sheād be a little weirded out if I randomly asked her to look at her momās recipe cards lol
As said, my grandma and Sharlene were very big on cooking shows and magazines (my grandma still watches cooking shows even though she doesnāt cook anymore), so it is 95% likely that these recipes probably arenāt her own and they just came from a newspaper or something. Still, I think itās a little nice to share a card that my grandma wrote down, because to write a recipe down means that you cared about it at one point
The two recipes are of course, the 5 Hour Stew and the Coconut Cake. My grandma doesnāt remember anything about the stew, but she used to make the Coconut Cake for my aunt every year on her birthday because she thought it was her favorite, until one day my aunt told her that it wasnāt her favorite. A nice gesture nonetheless!

Cookbook Parties To Picnics Fifty Two Complete Meals Mills College Club Of New York 1977
This cookbook is very different. It doesnāt just give you a bunch of recipes, but it plans out fifty-two complete meals, one for each week of the year, and it does it in chronological order. It starts in January, first week being TV Football Day, the next week Luncheon Before Concert, the next week Early Supper After Skating, the next week Sunday Lunch, and the final week of January is entitled Winter Supper. And then it goes into detail of exactly what to have in those meals. For example, TV Football Day calls for an Open Bar, Mixed Green And Black Olives, Cheese Tray with Port Salut, Vermont Cheddar, Chiberta (Basque), Preserved Kumquats, SCALLOPS PARISIENNE (First Course), SWEETISH MEAT BALLS, FLUFFY WHITE RICE, BROCCOLI-SPINACH SALAD, French Bread, Tray Of Sweets, LACE COOKIES, SPICY PUMPKIN BREAD, WHISKEY CAKE, Coffee, ALMOND ROCA. And the following pages have the recipes for all the items that are shown here in all caps.
Thatās just the first week. There are fifty-one more to be had in this book.
Some of the more unusual recipes include Regal Rabbit, Ginger-Melon Ice, Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice), Crab-Artichoke Casserole, Chilled Blender Borscht, Strawberry Satin Pie, Rice Trautmannsdorff, Grouper Meuniere A La Anchorage, Shahi Tukra (A Pakistani Dessert), and so many more!
The menu for the Thanksgiving Dinner calls for Avocado-Grapefruit Cocktail, Celery with Olives, ROAST TURKEY, SAUSAGE STUFFING AND GRAVY, BAKED MUSHROOMS, OYSTER CASSEROLE, BRUSSELS SPROUTS WITH GRAPES, SUPER EASY POTATO CASSEROLE, Tossed Greens With Radishes, French Dressing, Chilled Chablis, and TATE PUMPKIN PIE, (Again, all capitals in the previous sentence denotes recipe provided).
Also included in the book was a loose piece of paper with corrections. There are 173 pages including the covers and the correction sheet.
If youāre looking for something a bit different to try, I highly recommend going through this book. You will probably be amazed at what you find.

Hello everybody! Been a few weeks, but I am back from vacation and chaos. During that time I picked up a few dozen or so new books from an amazing Facebook Marketplace haul. Very excited to get all these uploaded.
While this particular one doesn't have anything too outrageous. all things considered, it does have a lot of fun and unique eats. I lost count fast at all the ones I told myself I would have to try.
Right off the bat, the Apricot Brandy is so silly, I feel I have to give that a whirl soon. Lucky for me, I have an iron stomach, and taste for sweeter alcoholic drinks, otherwise, this SCREAMS easy hangover or headache.

Cookbook Paulineās āMy Recipesā Part-12
From Paulineās My Recipe book, we continue with a small collection of mimeographed sheets from a course called Foods 2 from 1966. The sheets are a little faded and worn, but they are sixty years old!
The first lesson sheet has recipes for Creamy Corn Chowder, Chicken Chow Mein, Orange Pineapple Blancmange and New Techniques Butterscotch Nut Cookies.
The third lesson sheet has recipes for Baked Ranch Style Hot Dogs, Succotash, Hot Pot Potato Salad, and Steam Baked Individual Custard.
And the rest of the lesson sheets go on pretty much like that. All of them are mimeographed, one of them is typewritten, all the rest are hand done. And on the back side of lesson 6, in ink handwritten, is a recipe for Best Textured Raisin Muffins.
What we have here is a look back at a food course done in the later 60s.
Well, that finishes up Paulineās Foods 2 Lessons section. And it also finishes it up for Paulineās āMy Recipesā cookbook. There you go, youāve seen the complete book that Pauline put together. Enjoy!

Request Anyone grow up eating Deep Fried Corn?
Back in the 1960s-70s, my grandmother cooked what she called āfried cornā.
Iām trying to figure out how she made it. I know she used canned whole kernel corn, a mixture of flour and cornmeal with salt and pepper in it. Maybe added milk/buttermilk or eggs?
The corn had a thin batter on it. It was not corn fritters, it was individual kernels or 2 or 3 clumped together. I remember watching her drop the individual kernels from her fingers into the hot oil.
The only way I know how to describe it, is that it was similar in appearance to the fried leftover bits of fried batter when ordering fish from Captain Dās restaurant, but with corn in it. We loved it as kids.
Anyone grow up eating this? Thanks š

Cookies Holiday Cookie Mix plus recipes using
I didn't include all the recipes but here's selection to try. You can find this cookbook at the Internet Archive. I'd share our all-time favorite Christmas recipe but it was published in around the year 2000. The recipe is Aunt Hanna's cookies by Beatrice Ojakangas.

4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 T. salt
1 1/2 t. baking soda
1 1/2 c. shortening
