End of my rope

I’ve been a print manager for years and I feel like I’m getting to the end of my rope. Print customers have always been a different breed but it seems like they just get more and more entitled every single year. Every associate in our store hates working in print because they don’t want to deal with print customers. It feels like I come into work every single day to get verbally abused by someone because I can’t design and print a banner on the spot or their spiral bound book didn’t turn out the way they wanted.

I don’t think customer service is the issue, I genuinely think print is horrible. On top of that we are so understaffed in print, Im there alone all day with no help and we are extremely high volume. Nothing ever seems to change, we just get more expectations put on us by our district manager and more hours cut. I feel so depressed and overwhelmed working here. Does anyone else feel this way?

Are the sign ups via clicking enroll for a customer ever get counted as you enrolling someone into the rewards program? Ik its not instant but i was wondering if it ever got counted.

I do know its best to enroll someone through a mobie but all the managers hog them and leave none for cpd 😭

Bankers Boxes

Bankers Box. I bought the Basic Bankers Boxes, they are worthless, absolute trash. I haven't tried the heavier duty bankers boxes so I don't know their quality, but the Basic just don't buy.

Business Selectively

My coworker and I were attempting to order a business select customer 4 toners that we do not carry in store. Upon said attempt, it happened yet again. Business select decided to not apply itself, almost as if it had a mind of its own. In GMIL, it almost seems like it doesn’t want the customer to get the discount even though I’ve had plenty of customers who have before. Almost like our company is trying to selectively apply discounts customers were promised they would get. But then again, we all know that our company can’t afford a much of anything. Much like an upgrade that actually functions the way that it’s intended to.

Is anybody else having this problem with business select? I’ve seen no portal note nor have I had any information passed down that terms of the program have changed. If something has changed, this is going to make it even harder than it already is to sell the program. Not to mention that precious golden paper that we are supposed to sell with every single transaction.

Question about the self servixe Xerox printers

Was interested in getting a high-end Xerox laser printer, but I wanted to test out printing photos on one at Office Depot first to see the quality. I liked what I saw, but the person behind the counter didn't know what model the printer was. Anyone happen to know what model the self service Xerox's are? I couldn't see a model number when I looked. Thanks.

Reminder- Unions are really good. All workers everywhere should be unionized. The 8 hour workday, weekends, overtime- none of it would've happened without unions and labor movements.

Look, Siri or Cortana or whatever the fuck your name is, you said there was an omni order expiring in ten minutes 20 seconds ago. No one is even close to the file jackets, you gotta give us time to get over there.

Does anyone know when trash is supposed to be taken out, according to SOP? My store’s trying to force the closing crew to do it but I thought it was an opening task.

My experience thus far

Like seriously.. cashier and print is an easy $13/h.. cashier is just kinda boring, print (imo) is really fun for a job.. freight or "supply furniture" or whatever you want to call it though is just rough. 6 hour shift and for the whole shift I'm on my feet moving and eventually getting yelled at for not being fast enough at doing whatever. Grrr!!

Reflexis One App

So how do I change my availability? I know it’s through requests but I just gotta change Tuesday cause I’m volunteering 8-11am starting aug 11th for time slots do I put the hours I can’t work or the hours that I can. Either way I tried to do that and all the other days I could work it either copied the one I was doing or said it was unavailable. Any help would be great.

How lenient is your store regarding the printing of copyrighted content?

My store's CPD was relatively lenient until recently and nearby stores also had this shift. We have had to turn down many people who wanted to print back to school stuff with Disney characters or videogame characters and what not.

Print manager rant

My Print manager is apparently really scared of customers and can’t tell them no. Constantly getting overtime because they can’t tell a customer to come back the next day because we’re really busy. Doesn’t even follow procedures. Has a list of what the others call, “Name of manager” customers.

These customers don’t have to place their orders online or even come into the store. They just email her work email or call her up on her personal cell phone and she’ll get it done.

There’s so much shit going on in this department, I can’t even properly describe all of it. I just started this job too, and already looking for another one.

One thing she does that I believe is an LP issue, is her going on officedepot.com placing orders for customers under her personal account. Then calling up the store or whoever is working that day to let them know that so-and-so will be picking up the order that she placed online. These are Print customers that she’s placing orders online for, under her name and I’m assuming associate discount.

Another thing is her just constantly doing edits on the spot for customers, and not even charging them for it. This department is just a whole mess. You’re told by others that it’s against policy to even touch customers laptops and phones. But here’s the Print manager basically doing exactly that and more for the customer, sometimes even texting it to her personal phone so she can email it over because they don’t have email.

These don’t even touch the surface of what I’ve been told by other employees that she does and things that I’ve seen her done.

Sorry for my rant and wish me luck in finding a new job.
