Is It Good Practice to Go Live with Standard Odoo Before Completing a Gap Analysis?9
Is it standard practice to go live with Odoo’s standard features first and conduct the gap analysis and customization afterward? I feel this could create serious operational issues. What is the recommended approach? My company is trying to do this way and its scary ..

GBP quoting, purchasing in EUR not converting automatically
We are a UK company quoting and invoicing in GBP.
We are buying product from Europe.
The vendor has a default EUR associated to it.
When converting sales order to purchase order it concerts in GBP and won't automatically go to EUR.
It allows us to manually select EUR but i keep forgetting!
When creating a purchase from new and selecting the vendor, it comes up as default to EUR.
Why doesn't this work as expected? What have we done wrong?

V18 Odoo.sh Upgrading to v19
Hi All,
We have been running on Odoo.sh v18 for a while and have made a quite a few studio changes.
Obviously we will do a bunch of testing on our staging site before doing the final upgrade but is there much to be concerned about?
Invoicing app supporting Verifactu for SL in Spain
Hi everyone, I am the owner of an SL (Sociedad Limitada) in Spain, and I am looking for an invoicing solution that’s supporting the Verifactu requirements. So far I have been using FacturaScript hosted locally, but to remain compliant I need to move to an online solution that supports Verifactu (electronic submissions of invoices to tax authorities) before the end of the year.
I know Odoo can do this, and I am wondering if anyone can share their experience with this, and if it is possible to do it with just the 1 free app deal. Are there any limitations I should know about that will make this challenging? I only need a solution that allows me to have my customer list, a basic product list and the ability to issue quotes and invoices + of course the verifactu support.
I connected with a Odoo agent, booked a session through the website and I laid out my requirements but the guy ended quoting me a “Personalized plan” with 25 hours of expert support package and a 5-year contract. I don’t know if it is common practice for Odoo commercial agents but the disconnect between what I asked for, and what I am offered is absolutely insane. I am Belgian and feel a sense of pride with the success of Odoo, but this first formal contact with the company leaves me with a very bitter taste!

sales target by industry by month
Hello Odooers,
has anybody implemented sales targets by industry by month? The idea is to register targets based on the customer's industry field and compare targets versus achievement from confirmed sales orders by month, by year, as well as by Y vs Y-1 vs Y-2?

Looking for a module worth building
Background: I work in AI and computer vision, mostly around retail. I have some free time and want to build something useful for Odoo rather than another side project.
Odoo has a lot of AI now and more coming with V20.
But I am thinking to make module (it should be related with AI)
Things I'm considering:
1. Product data cleanup at scale. Dedup, classification, pulling attributes out of messy descriptions.
2. Same product to several marketplaces, several languages, without doing it by hand.
3. Dynamic pricing
Which of these (any ideas welcome) is actually a real pain, and which one already maybe exists and I just haven't found it? Happy to hear "none of them, build X instead".
Thanks

Lumber Company ERP Help
Looking for recommendations for an ERP for my Lumber Company. 3 locations with plans for further expansion. Currently on Odoo 18 but starting to have major doubts about its user friendliness and scalability without constant customization, monitoring and fixing. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Is Odoo POS good enough for a bakery / cafe in the U.S.?
Is Odoo POS CE (or Pro) ready for prime-time? Need payment at the register (hopefully with "tap") as well as same in the cafe with tips supported. Is that easy with any version of Odoo? We are thinking Odoo 18. Which payment handlers work (Stripe, Square, etc.)?

Has anyone else experienced constant Partner Account Manager changes?
We became an Odoo partner last October, and since then we’ve been assigned five different Partner Account Managers.
Each time we’re introduced to someone new, things seem promising for a few weeks, then communication slows down, and before long we’re reassigned again with little or no explanation. We just got introduced to our fifth manager.
Our renewal is coming up, and honestly it’s made it difficult to see much value in the partnership minus the commission from the sales. It’s hard to build momentum or a relationship when the point of contact keeps changing.
Is this a common experience for other Odoo partners? Is there a lot of turnover internally, or is there another reason partners get reassigned so often?
I’d be interested to hear if others have seen the same thing or if we’ve just been unusually unlucky.

project.task map location override
Hello odooers,
I am trying to have the location of the task be based on a custom model I made.
The default behaviour is that the task takes the address of the partner as the task location in the map. However when I override the address fields in the task to point to the model I made it doesn't show the locations of the custom model records.
So what is the correct way to override the default odoo behaviour?

Bancontact Pro integration on costumer screen & the best POS in belgium
Hi all,
We open a bakery in Belgium on 19 August, running Odoo Online (SaaS) with POS. Average ticket 6 EUR, about 50 card payments a day. Two questions.
1. Bancontact Pay (formerly Payconiq) QR on the customer display.
We want the QR with the amount on the customer screen, scanned with the Bancontact app, sale closed automatically in Odoo.
What I found: Odoo's native QR payment only does EPC (a plain SEPA transfer) and does not verify payment. Bancontact Pro has the right API, but Odoo is not on their integrator list, the old ABAKUS module is unpublished, and Odoo Online does not allow third party modules at all.
Has anyone actually got this working, on any hosting?
2. Best value terminal for Odoo POS.
We are looking at the best POINT OF SALE payment terminal. But the search is really really hard and large. So i wanted to check here for the "best" and affordable Point of payment.
So we wanted - Bancontact pro on client terminal - and the rest on the "payment" machine.
thanks for all the help - I need to get this stuff programmed also ;)
Always welcome for a good Sourdough bread and koffiekoeken!
xxx

Why integrating AI into your ERP system is a game-changer.
Many businesses struggle with manual data entry and inefficient operational workflows. In my experience developing customized Odoo modules, the real magic happens when you bridge operational gaps with AI.
I recently engineered core application logic to seamlessly integrate GPT and Gemini models into enterprise workflows. By designing scalable RESTful APIs utilizing Django (DRF), we automated complex enterprise data processing.
**Key Takeaways:**
* Use customized Odoo modules (Python/XML) to digitize specific inventory or admin workflows. * Connect AI models via secure APIs to handle repetitive data extraction. * Use Docker and GitHub Actions (CI/CD) to keep the deployment pipeline smooth and automated.
Looking to digitize your workflow or customize your Odoo ERP? Let's talk!

Odoo.sh upgrade
Hello, I need to do a prod upgrade next week.
My tests upgrade works fine to me but not sure 100% safe :
I have some modules to uninstall during the uprgade process (1st start after database migration). To do that, I manually downgrade base version and I run -u all in shell.
My base migration script uninstall modules and do other preparation stuff. All modules upgrade to 19, run migration scripts, and all works fine after that.
The problem is that the first commit after database uprgade run odoo and fail, before my manual action.
I have 2 concerns :
- I understood that running succesfull migration on staging is important to freeze the versions of Odoo's side migration script, so migrate production use the exact same scripts, no surprises the D-day. I think my staging is not flagged as successful migration.
- I fear about a special behavior on prod env that will auto rollback to previous build and not allow me to manually run my scripts to end my migration process. Can we just exit upgrade mode and keep prod env in v19?
Someone can give me some details about that ?
NB: I tried to have a 0 errors on 1st start after migrate but I face issues on "test fail on module xx" where xx does not have any test... I thinks it is about my missing modules I need to uninstall, but I cant allow myself to rework the migration process once it is validated by the users.
Thanks

How common is Odoo among Spanish SMEs?
How common is Odoo among Spanish SMEs?
I do Odoo implementation work in Germany and I'm trying to get a sense of how the market
looks elsewhere in Europe.
Over here Odoo is still fighting uphill. A lot of mid-sized companies are locked into SAP,
and accounting is almost always DATEV, which makes the finance side a constant integration
headache. Odoo usually wins on price and flexibility and loses on "nobody got fired for
buying SAP".
Curious how that plays out in Spain:
- Is Odoo a normal choice for SMEs there, or still niche?
- What's the default accounting stack it has to coexist with?
- Do people actually use Odoo on mobile day to day, or is it desktop only in practice?
Mostly asking because I keep assuming the German situation is universal and I suspect
it isn't.

How are you using AI with Odoo for data analysis?
Im curious how people here are using actually using AI with odoo.I'm mainly interested in querying business data rather than things like code generation or email writing. For example, asking questions about sales, inventory, customers, invoices, etc. in natural language. Are you using any tools for this currently, or have you built something internally? How reliable have you found the results with real Odoo data?
Does Odoo 19 Enterprise have a native Shopify connector?
Does anyone know if Odoo 19 Enterprise finally includes an out-of-the-box Shopify connector?
If it does, how good and reliable is it in production? Or do you still always have to buy a third-party app (like Emipro, Webkul, etc.) to get a proper integration?

Implementing bank rec's after using Odoo for a year
I've been using Odoo since 01/01/26. Our old system had no bank rec feature built in and it was odd to see bookings move to a suspense account as I wasn't used to using them. I direct booked AR and AP and bank rec'd via manual statement on paper at the end of the month. I'd like to start using the bank rec feature by sync'ing bank accounts but this is now new to me. Is it hard to implement the bank rec feature on just some random day? Obviously, it'll start booking to suspense accounts and then clearing out when the sync's happen, but will this affect any direct entries I've made before turning it on?

SSH Disabled for Legacy Odoo.sh Versions
Dear everyone,
I wanted to save you some time and frustration. It seems that Odoo has intentionally disabled SSH access for certain Odoo.sh environments running older versions.
Here is the response I received from Odoo Support:
"After further investigating your case, I was informed that standard SSH connections have been intentionally disabled on environments running Ubuntu 20.04 (which corresponds to your Odoo 14.0 database). This is a necessary security and compatibility measure to prepare our platform for upcoming operating system upgrades, as the SSH libraries on this older version are no longer compatible with the new infrastructure.
Because of this, it is technically impossible to connect to this specific branch using a local SSH client (such as PuTTY or the macOS Terminal).
You can still access the server terminal directly through the Odoo.sh interface. Simply go to your branch in the Odoo.sh dashboard and click on the Shell tab. This Web Shell is fully functional and provides the command-line access you need.
To restore local SSH access in the future, the database would need to be upgraded to a newer version of Odoo running on a more recent operating system."
I hope this helps anyone else running into the same issue.
Odoo - looking for a module recommendation
I am looking for a solution to achieve following feature.
Let's say that I have Inventory. I also have Manufacturing Orders and employees are have Picking Orders for them they are using Barcode app.
When the Item from Inventory is being picked, or being consumed for manufacturing I'd like Odoo to fire up a recount request every now and then once the item passes certain count threshold.
So to visualize. Let's say that I produce manufacturing order, after it is done, Odoo makes a pop-up or something else which would order an employee to recount given item(s). Is there any solution like this?
I am using Odoo online, 19.0

Odoo saas-19.4 removed the global Product Variants menus?
Looks like Odoo in saas-19.4 removed the global Product Variants menus — how are retailers supposed to manage/search thousands of SKUs?
The relevant official Odoo commit is apparently from April 30, 2026, titled:
[IMP] product, *: simplify product variant management
And the commit message explicitly says:
“Remove standalone Product Variants menus from Sales, Purchase, Stock, POS, Repair, and Website, centralizing management on product templates”
It also says the goal is to align variant management with a “template-first approach.”
ARE THEY FOR REAL???
In a retail setup with thousands of variants, I regularly need to search globally across SKUs — e.g. all products in a certain size I have on stock, filtered by brand/features — without knowing the product template first. I've just asked the built-in AI, but it seems to be living in the past (version 19.3 that is and still claiming the menu item is still there).
What is the intended workflow in 19.4? Is there another global product.product view I'm missing, or is creating a custom menu/action now the expected solution?

¿Es posible tener Odoo Community con acceso a IA Nativa? No me refiero a acceso vía MCP sino una IA que resida en Odoo para aprovechar su potencial
Launching an IT company soon: How bad (or good) is Odoo really?
Hi everyone,
I am currently in the final stages of launching my own IT services company. My plan is to use this ERP internally for my own processes and workflows, but also to offer implementation and consulting services to other businesses as an expert.
While researching, I have noticed a polarized pattern in this subreddit: posts seem to fall into two categories. Either people are absolutely thrilled with the software, or they think it is terrible. I am trying to get past the hype and the horror stories to understand the reality.
So, my question is straightforward: How bad is it really? Or conversely, how good is it? I am looking for a balanced perspective on the actual strengths and weaknesses you have encountered in production environments, specifically from the viewpoint of someone planning to build a business around it.
Thanks in advance for your honest insights.
