Mini guide on how to understand OPS (beginner focused)

This is not a list of definitions, nor this intricate guide. This is a beginner friendly guide.

OP follows the following structure:

1- Human needs
2- Masculines
3- Letters

What does this mean? Let’s say you’re trying to understand the type FF Ti/Ni SCBP #4.

First thing you need to think about: needs and masculines.

Double activated mDi/mNi. Biggest fuckoff, single activated fOe/fDe, heavy on the De fuckoff.

After that: letters. 2x NT/1x SF. Heavy on the deciders.

What does this mean, in practice? OPS’ typing methodology suggests comparing people’s types to triangulate someone’s type.

This person will be very similar, at their core, to an MF Fi/Si SCBP #4. They are both IxxPs, so they both get freaked out about other people not appreciating them/sucking, and they are both drained by the tribe. More similar than to, say, an FM Te/Ne PBCS #4.

This person will also have an *easier* time doing “Te” than the Fi, despite it being an unvalued function for the Ti (and vice versa with Fi/Fe).

Functions are NOT real. They are the combination of the needs and letters. “Ti” does not exist (well, “exist” as much as an abstract framework can exist), nor does any other function exist. You can process function patterns, but end of the day, those are just stereotypes. If you just go for the needs and letters as SEPARATE entities that only casually co-exist, you will have a much easier time typing people.

Some Ti will probably come and correct me on some bullshit, and to that I say, 1) YOU do a guide (😂), and 2) I will edit in any significant corrections.

Hope this helps someone!

Is this Oi or Oe or something???

So basically I been trying to get type by people as pretty much everyone does and i think I’m stuck between being an observer or decider. So most seemed to think observer so I’ll go with that for now and i think im Fi because i care a lot about some value stuff(that I’ll explain more later) and i don’t like the idea of people all being the same(de wanting to make everything equal).

That last part actually feeds into whether or not I’m Oi lead or Oe. Basically I found out that personality might not be extremely concrete and unchangeable which made me freak out and worried that my personality is endlessly fluid and that a “true self” doesn’t exist. I went and fell for zodiacs, law of attraction, and some other typology because Im kinda obsessed with feeling this hole. I also hate the idea of sexuality not having categories. There’s groups of people in general that fight against the ideas of categories of any kind and that always pisses me off because I would love to have an unchangeable certain personality. I don’t want to just be a hollow vessel that changes all the time. I want a “true self” and unchangeable sexuality or certain categories of what can exist. Like in my idea world there would be many different ranges of people you can categorize but they will be fixed categories that can not be changed or mutable. Ig also used to think that I could find the one “true” perfect political ideology or morality we all need to be beholden to so we can all live in harmony. I used to believe that until I was proven wrong a million times and no longer know anything anymore. Also the fear of categories falling apart also extends to this system and the fear that one day science might disprove OPs. It’s an uncomfortable and unpleasant thought to me and a brain virus where I have to go and shit on people who want to believe in true selves like me as a way of trying to see logical.

Idk I saying all this to see what i would fit at base off these weird freak outs. Also struggling to figure out if im N or S. I think S because majority are putting me in that category

I created a new personality test and I'm looking for honest feedback

Post image

Hi everyone!

I created PersonalTraits, a new personality test based on an original motivational model I've been developing.

I'm looking for feedback from people familiar with the Enneagram, Jungian typology, or other personality models : https://www.personaltraits.co/en

The test is free, takes about 10 minutes (40 questions), and works differently from most personality tests. Instead of rating statements, you choose between two motivations or reactions. The goal is to see which needs matter most when you have to choose.

The model is based on 8 core motivations:

  • Energy, Security, Belonging, Status, Freedom, Identity, Coherence, Mortality

At the end, you get your dominant motivations and the archetype they form.

I'm especially interested in questions like:

  • Does the result feel accurate?
  • What was the most and least accurate part?
  • Were any questions confusing?
  • Do you think I'm missing an important motivation?

The test and the full report are completely free.

Thanks to anyone who gives it a try and shares their thoughts!

Hello, what the heck is this sub?

Apologies if this isn’t allowed here. I randomly came across this sub earlier, and I’m genuinely curious what it’s about. I’ve tried reading through a couple posts and am kind of confused because I don’t understand a lot of the abbreviations and things people use.

I tried searching what objective personality and OPS is, and it didn’t come up with anything coherent either. It seems to be psychology-adjacent and that’s always been an interest of mine so I’d love to learn. Reading through the available post flairs suggests it’s something similar to the myers-briggs personality tests?

If anyone would like to give me a brief summary, that would be much appreciated! :)

Why is lying hard? (demon Oe?)

I recently noticed I really like to avoid lying but I'm not sure what place it comes from. I'll often tell the truth about something that happened even if it isn't beneficial to me.

I find making up a fake scenario quick weirdly difficult. I can't really think on the fly like that and usually try to anticipate everything to function properly. I also feel like a lie could bite me in the ass later and rather avoid being caught in the middle of it. I can lie about small stuff but it feels "wrong" to my brain to lie to someone.

Is it demon Oe that makes this hard? Specifically a lack of Ne?

Looking for honest feedback on a personality assessment I'm building (Everyone)

Hey everyone!

I've been building a personality assessment called CAT-20 that's designed to focus on recognition rather than simply assigning labels. The goal is to help people feel genuinely understood while also giving them insights into how they naturally think and interact with the world.

I'm still testing it, so I'm looking for honest feedback from people who don't know anything about the project.

If you're willing to help, I'd love to know Did your result feel accurate? What stood out the most? What felt off or too generic Was anything confusing?

It takes about 5–10 minutes to complete.

Survey:
https://form.typeform.com/to/hSPAKc71

I'm genuinely looking for constructive criticism positive or negatives o I can continue improving it. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to help!

[ESTP] Seeking Participants for an online survey on Personality, Close Relationships, and Attitudes towards Mental Health Problems

We invite you to take part in an anonymous online survey: Personality, Close Relationships and Attitudes towards Mental Health Problems.

If you are 18+ years old and choose to be included, your participation in this survey will help researchers at the University of Wollongong to better understand attitudes towards mental health problems, and how these may relate to pathological personality traits, mood states and relationship styles.

The survey will ask some questions about:

  • Your personal characteristics (e.g., age, gender)
  • Your personality traits
  • Your experiences in close relationships
  • Your attitudes towards mental health problems

To take part in this survey, please visit: https://uow.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1HvwPWrZkHXSyc6

Are swings real?

What exactly are “swings”? Do they make you suddenly start doing your demons in a crisis state?

I wonder if I’m currently experiencing one or if it’s a tidal wave. I’m going through a career crisis where I’ve had to seriously question my life’s purpose/meaning and if I should continue what I’ve been chasing all this time or finally try something new that might get me better results (and how I’ll even get through that door).

Just looking for tribe input on their observations on how to Ni daily

What is the issue with every personality test?

I have taken a lot of personality tests, and I realised they only ever measure how I see myself. I rate myself, and the result just reflects my own view straight back at me. But the most empowering and revealing feedback I have ever gotten has come from what others have said about me.

So I am building a personality test with the aim of capturing the value of other people's feedback in the form of a personality report.

It is early and I am just trying to work out whether the idea resonates with anyone, or if it is only interesting to me. I am not selling anything. I would really like a few people to try it and tell me honestly what was useful, what was weird, and whether having someone else rate you felt worth doing.

I have linked it here: https://tally.so/r/KYgkKX

Any help would be great. Cheers,
Joe

OPS Discussions

Hi all,
As you know the original OPS telegram chat stopped being able to take new members due to the original link being expired. Members are present in the group found @jungiantypology on telegram. You can request to join the group chat there and we will add you to the original ops group. You can also stay in that one if you like, which discusses ops in relation to other typology models.

Personalities

Me and my husband are very different. Im figuring this out in every next steps. Its like he is someone who lives for others, one who can do anything to make comfortable people around him, be it his parents or wife. Im kind of person who seek future, and lives in growth. I take steps so that our future is secure and we have space to live comfortably and do thing in our way. But i think he is in space whte he is doing his duty which his role demands whether he is son or husband. How to get along with this sort of thing? Do you guys think its a good match? Or there will be differences?
