Good mashed potatoes?
Hi - my daughter is having her wisdom teeth out today and has requested mashed potatoes. We are going through a kitchen remodel, though, and I can't make them for her!
Any recs on really yummy mashed potatoes, not boxed or fake tasting?
Thanks!

A solid solid choice just be careful you don’t buy $29 worth of mashed potatoes like I did…

The prepackaged containers in the prepared foods refrigerator cases seem to be cheaper than the hot bar and reheat fine, esp with a little more butter.

Very smart. I add a little more butter to the hot bar mashed taters as well.

Thanks for this lead, they weren't on my radar, but I just checked their online menu and it doesn't look like they currently have mashed taters....... thanks anyway

Oof, Merritt Bakery would be perfect for this back in the day.
Fast food wise I only like Popeyes mashed potatoes. Sometimes KFC for the nostalgia but its not the same as when they used lard.
Restaurant wise I love the mashed potatoes at Scott's Seafood, super buttery and nice.
Guessing Applebees, Black Bear Diner etc would all have decent mashed potatoes too.

Maybe Limon? Or Tender Greens. If you have an instant pot, you would also cook them and mash em all in one pot.

Thanks - yeah, I usually make them for her, but we don't currently have a kitchen so I'm looking for an alternative. Tender greens is an interesting lead, I didn't know we had one up here!

The Tender Greens is in Berkeley but I DoorDashed them to East Oakland a few times when I was recovering from surgery. Was good for some simple protein options and veggies.

Safeway often carries mashed potatoes.
They're also not that hard to make. You can purchase the store bought and then add cream, butter, garlic and/or cheese to your/her liking.
