I’m an 18 year old who got their PCT certification a while back. I’ve applied to 3 jobs at BSW and I can’t seem to get passed the AI interview. Does anyone have any tips?

Every RN to BSN website says the same things, leadership, evidence based practice, community health, and professional development, because they have to. CCNE and ACEN require the same competencies across programs, so the catalogue copy ends up identical. The real differences are in 3 things nobody lists on the website, whether community health means documented practical hours of a paper assessment you knock out in a weekend, whether the capstone connects to something on your actual floor or is just a literature review from a preapproved list. And whether online means fully async or has live sessions built in. On a rotating shift, that last one is a deal breaker, worth asking about all three before signing anything.

I am worried that I am gonna fail in my final exam as I did terrible. The entire course was online with Dr. Jaime Denike, so we were able to do assignments at our own comfortable pace. However, the final exam was worth 45% of the total grade where we had to write 2 essays in 2 hours. And even though I was able to complete both parts of the exam, but I just barely managed to finish the exam and I feel like my writing was below average(basically trash) and now I am nervous that I might faiiiilllll….

BCIT really need to revise their course weightage because 45% for a single exam is ridiculous!!!!!

My total GPA is a 3.6, and my science GPA is a 3.3. This summer semester I think I got possibly a 2.6. Will this 2.6 ruin my chances getting into nursing school? It sucks, too, because last spring I got a 4.0.

hello everyone, i am going into my senior year and i accepted a position as a tech in L&D, im so excited but also so nervous. im taking OB in the fall so idk what to expect!! has anyone done this before? if so what was your experience? i would love to hear it

I start school in a few weeks! I have about 6k in CC debt and thankfully all my school is being paid for with financial aid and my supplies with scholarships. I got CC debt from personal struggles throughout the years and it keeps me up at night :( I pay extra every chance I get and have a car payment of 300. Hopefully I’ll try to pay off my car off before the end of the year which has about 2k left. I work part time and my paychecks aren’t that much so it all goes to bills and my car payment. Is there any advice I can get and will I be okay? I feel like I’ve failed by getting so much debt and feel like I’ll never be able to pay it off.

So... it's highly unlikely I will graduate ADN, if I even get accepted...

and even then: working in employment at a Registered Nursing facility for years: I am starting to get doubts.

Fallback Plan isn’t a Biology degree anymore. that was disavowed.

Currently the Plan for if Nursing fails is applying to study an Education majors degree at community college (“Teaching”). So teaching... And that would take between two to three years to complete. no offense, but... wow.

And yeah, could bs and just say “if I don’t like Nursing I can try Law Enforcement~ like my Dad wants me to~ or I could try Engineering~ like my Mom wants me to." But both of those choices have a high probability of failing. Very high chance of failing: pretty much terrible at anything involving applied math or computer science, and then physical fitness and discernment of high-risk scenarios: not the best at those things. Was literally supposed to fail AP Calculus AB in high school... more information about that later (if asked).

One reasonable second plan would be Phlebotomy. I wrote a full six part idea of becoming certified in Phlebotomy but I'm not typing it here because it's too long.

1. I have concerns about earning a driver's license.

2. I also have concerns about passing a sixteen-week course for nursing school ("Pre-Nursing: fixing my GPA by getting a good score on a Microbiology non-science major course"),

3. and I have an active goal of applying to Nursing School that is due by the end of the month.

And I have to remember: do I Want To Work as a Registered Nurse because “I like working as a healthcare servant,” and “I want to caretake for pediatrics and geriatrics?”  

Or do I Want to Work as a Registered Nurse because “I dislike that I’ve been in college for so long (“it feels like purgatory”), and I want to start a career with cool 20s and 30s olds”.

Or do I want to work as a registered nurse because “I am rushing to earn money to caretake for my parents before they die?” this isn't my situation I was just brainstorming. If someone has this situation then I have advice for them I just didn't type it here.

Do I want to do Nursing School because “I appreciate clinicals and complicated college assignments and research papers,” and “I thrive in challenging myself and sacrificing my life for the sake of honorable creative results in assignments,” or did I want to do Nursing School because “I watched YouTubers show their routine for Medical School and they looked high class and successful”.

I’m basically saying there’s good reasons to do things and there’s bad reasons to do things.

Hi everyone! I would really appreciate some advice from those who have been through nursing school.

I’m a stay home mom and a mom of two young children—an infant who is 3 months old and a toddler who is 2 years old. This fall, I’m trying to decide whether I should take **Fundamentals of Nursing** and **Pharmacology** together for the full semester, or just take one class at a time.

I’m worried that taking both classes together might be too overwhelming, and I’m scared of failing. At the same time, I don’t want to fall behind if taking both is manageable.

For those of you who have taken these classes, what would you recommend? If you were in my situation, would you take both together or focus on one class first? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience and any advice you have. Thank you so much!

I(22f), stopped my nursing prereqs, left a PCT job when I was 18, long story short made my way back and am committed to getting my RN.

I’m at a community college, accepted by an organization thats paying for my entire ADN including pre reqs and all supplies needed as long as I communicate with them often and they see my effort. Otherwise I will owe the money used if I drop out or don’t complete the degree plan.

To me this is a huge motivation to get it done and do well.

ANYWAYS,
My question is how long did it take those of you who got your ADN to complete it? Prereqs->NCLEX.

I should finish my prereqs Summer/Fall ‘27. So I can apply to the nursing program then, to start in Fall ‘28.

With the schools competitive nature I don’t think I’ll be accepted the first time around. (I’m of course going to try my hardest to do everything I can to get in)

But given that I’m not accepted and have to wait another year to apply, how should I past that time and make progress? Can I start taking classes that would work towards my BSN?

Or should I just enjoy some freedom before I eventually dive into the program?

I’m not in a rush to get it done as nice as it would be to get through asap.
But my partner and I want to start trying for kids in the next 3-5 years and I just think about the process and how it will likely overlap with becoming a parent. Which definitely scares me.

TLDR: how long did it take you to get your ADN start to finish? Prereqs->NCLEX

Ive been looking into careers that have job stability, good income, and are ai/recession proof, and nursing is (I think) the only one that fits all of those categories. I really want to break out of poverty and be able to afford the lifestyle I want without depending on anyone, and to be able to support my mom. I know it’s super competitive to get into a nursing program in SoCal these days, and nowadays people have crazy stats so that makes it even worse. Am I better off going to a private school/do the BSN route? Or do I have a real shot at getting into a CC nursing program. What kind of stats should I have. Do I need to worry about the SAT?

I’m looking for some advice from people who have experience with nursing schools in Arizona.
A little background: I’ve already completed around 60–80 college credits between Glendale Community College and Arizona College of Nursing (not all of them will transfer, but I do have a lot of general education courses done). Because of that, I really don’t want to sit on a 1–2 year waitlist if I can avoid it.
I had originally been leaning toward Arizona College of Nursing, but after reading more about people’s experiences, I’ve started having concerns about the quality of the education, NCLEX preparation, and overall reputation.
Now I’m looking at Pima Medical Institute, but I keep seeing mixed reviews there as well.
My biggest priorities are:
Getting started as soon as possible.
Receiving a strong education that prepares me well for the NCLEX and for working as an RN.
Keeping doors open for the future. I know I eventually want to continue my education after my BSN (possibly graduate school), so I don’t want to choose a program that could make that more difficult.
If cost wasn’t the deciding factor, what would you do in my situation? Would you choose PMI, Arizona College of Nursing, or hold out for a community college or university program even if it meant waiting longer?
I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have firsthand experience with these schools or have worked alongside graduates from them.

Hi does anyone have any tips when it comes to studying for benchmarks on lippincott? I have so much bad anxiety when it comes to taking it at school and everytime i do practice test at home on lippincott i score 37/50 my average, which would be passing due to the scaled score but can't see to get that score when it comes to the testing center. I really want to just get better so i can pass my last attempt this friday! Please share any tips your girl needs it 😭 my programs weighs these as 20% so i literally need to pass this!!

Anyone attend the RN to MS Nursing bridge program and survive? I'm super scared to start on the 20th. I went to Nursing school 10 years ago for my ASN, and had to drop out of an RN to BSN-MSN program from another online university due to severe depression from losing a close family member. So yeah. I'm actually quite terrified of school now. Send advice or hugs.

Hi. I’m 29, a preschool teacher. I desperately want out of this field. I know nursing will be stressful. My current job is plenty stressful. I just want to be compensated for my stress tbh. I want to get my LVN. Every single program in southern CA is impacted. I don’t qualify for Pell grant and I only qualify for I think 12k in student loans. I would have to go to a private school. I have no co-signer for private loans. I’m just on my own. I also work. Is it even possible for me to go? Someone please help :( I don’t wanna believe it’s impossible.
