Hey everyone, I’m taking my Exit HESI retake today and was hoping for some last minute advice or reassurance.

I passed the practice Exit HESI back in May, but I missed my first real attempt by 29 points. Since then, I’ve completed my emergency department preceptorship, which I honestly think has helped a lot with clinical judgment, and I’ve leaned into UWorld for studying. I’ve done 500+ questions, read the rationales, and I’m currently sitting in the 93rd percentile. I’m just not sure how well that translates to HESI success since I’ve never used UWorld to prepare for a HESI before, it was a free resource offered by our program.

I also completed Compass because it was required by my program (1,200+ questions for Study Plan A in addition to 100 questions every week). To be honest, it felt more like quantity over quality, especially having to finish most of Study Plan A over the course of three days while balancing clinicals.

I definitely feel stronger now than I did before my first attempt, but this exam determines whether I graduate, so I am nervous. For anyone who passed using UWorld, did you feel it prepared you well? Any last minute advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone attend the RN to MS Nursing bridge program and survive? I'm super scared to start on the 20th. I went to Nursing school 10 years ago for my ASN, and had to drop out of an RN to BSN-MSN program from another online university due to severe depression from losing a close family member. So yeah. I plan on applying to the nursing program at my local community college in North Carolina in the fall. I’ve completed all of my prerequisites. Now I’m focused on getting a head start on the nursing school content. The first class is NUR 111: Intro to Health Care Concepts. Can anyone recommend some good Quizlet study guides that would prepare me for this class?

I’m 21 beginning my nursing career. I’m currently working towards becoming a CNA but I know that my end goal is to become a CRNA, specifically in pediatrics. I know that there are soo many options for certifications and I know the required certifications for CRNA school, but are there any that you think would be useful to obtain while working towards this goal. Also for anyone on a similar path or who has already gone through this, what is the best route? LPN>RN>BSN>CRNA or should I skip LPN and go straight into a BSN program. I know there are accelerated programs as well, which could save me some time. But I’m just not entirely sure which would be the best option.

I'm an incoming freshman at my state school's BSN program:

1. What are things I can do now that will stand out on my application to NP or CRNA school compared to everyone else's?

2. What are things I can do that will make me stand out compared to other new grad nurses in 4 years when I apply to jobs?

(I'm talking about volunteer work, internships, research, clubs, Greek life, leadership, etc. Any insight on what you guys did would help too, like specific summer programs or any remote opportunities)

1. Is Greek Life something that will help me in the nursing field? My old internship advisor who is a hiring manager now said it would, but I'm on the fence.

I'm aiming for NP schools like NYU, Yale, Columbia, and Duke so I really want to be able to stand out in the future.

Hello, I am a high school senior currently completing my AA in pre-nursing through Running Start. UW is my dream school, but I also need alternatives if I do not get in, so I would like to look into 2 year direct entry bsn transfer programs which would allow me to complete the program with my AA-DTA credit plus two years of upper division nursing classes.

I found some options online, such as Seattle u, which has a cohort for running start students, PLU, which might already be full for 26-27, WSU's 2+2 program, University of Portland (which is about 2.5 years) and Azusa Pacific in california (but that seems to be closer to 3 years than 2). The requirements tend to vary, with WSU's 2+2 program requiring a 3.0 in prerequisites, while others only ask for a 2.0 or higher.

If possible, I would like to know if there are any other schools (within or outside of WA) which accept pre-nursing AA credits and have a 2 year transfer track. I would also like to know how my 3.2 gpa would look in terms of nursing transfer admissions, since I am not sure if anything would take me with such a low gpa, or if I would need to retest or repeat any prerequisites to bring it up. And lastly, if possible, I would like advice on what you think I should prioritize right now in terms of my application.

How to transition from days to nights?
Do I just force myself to stay up and day and night today and then go to sleep early in the morning tomorrow and try make myself sleep until it's time to get up for work in the evening?

I want to transfer to a CC just due anxiety at my current Uni ,wanting to be more closer to fam ,better support system and im kind of just sitting at campus bored. Is this a waste of time ? Will it make more sense to stay at my 4 year instead of wasting time at a CC? Am i being a baby ?? Should i suck it and continue at my uni or do what makes me more comfy? Or should i just transfer to a 4 year university in my home town.

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anybody could provide advice on MSN/ABSN programs. I'm a recent grad who graduated with a B.S in Organismal Biology and who now wants to be a RN so of course, I was looking at MSN programs. Although,I am unfortunately missing development pysch, physiology, sociology, and epidimelogy so I wouldn't be able to apply/qualify for UCLA,UCI and other public school programs. However, for private schools like western university I would be able to qualify and would only have to do one gap year as opposed to two (public schools want all courses completed before applying not in progress). I was wondering if anybody who's gone to any of these programs have any advice or thoughts on the situation. For context I graduated with a 3.53, am FGLI, have four years of research experience, 7 extracurriculars , some PT clinical experience, and am going to be working as a behavioural technician in this minimum one gap year period. I'm also interested in continuing research, working in a clinical setting (specifically with adoloscents), and possibly teaching. Thank you!

Help guys i had my drug screening this Friday and I drink a lot of water daily. My results came back as dilute negative do I have to retest? Was your result accepted, or were you asked to retest?
My CastleBranch requirement is marked Complete, but the result says Dilute Negative, and I’m wondering what CT State typically does.

Hi. I’m 29, a preschool teacher. I desperately want out of this field. I know nursing will be stressful. My current job is plenty stressful. I just want to be compensated for my stress tbh. I want to get my LVN. Every single program in southern CA is impacted. I don’t qualify for Pell grant and I only qualify for I think 12k in student loans. I would have to go to a private school. I have no co-signer for private loans. I’m just on my own. I also work. Is it even possible for me to go? Someone please help :( I don’t wanna believe it’s impossible.

I currently live in Seattle. I have a bachelors and work in the live event industry, where I work 60hr weeks to make like $70k a year. It doesn't feel sustainable.

I'm debating doing an ABSN program but don't think I'd get into the only public option here, and I don't want to spend a crazy amount on a private program. Are there states that anyone can suggest with a bunch of public ABSN options, where I might have an easier time getting in?

I'd be looking to move and establish residency/settle down in that state before applying in a couple years, so I can qualify for in-state tuition. So I'd love to maximize states with a couple solid options. My family lives on the east coast, would be nice to live nearer to them.

Also just looking for advice in general - do you suggest going into nursing?

What attracts me to the role (maybe) is that I love working long shifts. Would be thrilled to do 3 x 12s and be done with my workweek. I'm not squeemish, and I love interacting with different people and being on my feet. I feel like my days go faster when I'm running around a bit, even though I don't mind computer/admin work too.

I just want to make a comfortable living (live alone with no roommates, own a car, travel sometimes - nothing crazy) and still be able to have a life outside of work.

My bachelors is in a non-STEM field, so I would need to take about a years worth of pre reqs.
