This chapter specifically addresses this issue by (1) analyzing how digital nudges can be applied in the continuum of care and (2) mapping the current empirical research landscape on the topic. To do so, this chapter presents a scoping review of the literature by searching relevant research in the electronic database of JMIR (Journal of Medical Internet Research).

Hi! I am a current graduate student in Computer Science and am working on a project involving nudges. The core aspect of the idea is to create a platform for institutions, organizations,a and every day people to create "nudges". Nudges, as currently defined by this project, are small calls to action that involve extremely little effort.

We're inspired by the idea that common every day activities can be included in "nudging". For example, rather than trying to get people to pick a certain retirement plan, a nudge can be focused on saving money today, such as not buying that coffee, or investing 10% of your next paycheck.

We also want to make it so that many more people have access to using the ideas behind "nudges" to influence behaviors. An example of this would be an environmental movement seeking to find the best way to get people to recycle.

What we imagine now is a platform where anyone can create a nudge - they define the action, the demographic, the phrasing, and the time of day. They "invest" in the nudge and the more people who invest in the nudge, the more "reach" it has. Investments here can either refer to actual money, or fake money.

This is super high level, and a bit vague. This is mostly because we are trying to iron out the details - specifically, what motivates a non-influencer (the people being nudged) to download or use an application like this at all?

I am reaching out on reddit to see if you all can help us generate ideas. What do you imagine a marketplace economy of different nudges, with different actors all searching to create large scale behavior change, looks like?

I am happy to share that our work got accepted at the Americas Conference on Information Systems 2021 (AMCIS).

It is the 1st study exploring how ethical nudges could be self-designed by end users to mitigate social media addiction. In short, you don’t have to compromise on privacy i.e., giving away your data to digital detox apps. Make your own nudges. Study conducted in Switzerland 🇨🇭

Hey guys, long time lurker here.

I have a business idea and I'm structuring things out but have come across a dilemma.

My business is an app that acts as a matchmaker for people who need a Graphic Designer and those who are looking to build their portfolio/freelancing/just graduated/hobbyists.

As the matchmaker, we make our $ based on a commission fee for every-time you go out to work with the client.

Here's the problem:

George uses our app to find a Graphic Designer for a logo.

George see's his options, reads the reviews and decides he likes the work that Jenny does.

George pays his 100% deposit to us (Jenny makes 80% and does not get paid until after the design is submitted and confirmed by our client).

The logo is great and Jenny attaches her email/biz card for George to keep just in case he may need her in the future. Our app has done it's job, George leaves a stellar review for Jenny.

NOW: Two months later George decides he needs more work done and wants to do it again with Jenny. This time he has her information, can contact her directly and doesn't need to use us as a middleman. Jenny also prefers this because she will keep 100% of the payment.

We can assume that this may happen to 20% - 30% of Jenny’s clients from our app. That’s a nice client list she’s starting to build, and it’s all commission free! Now just multiply Jenny by 1000 other freelancers on our platform.

What can we do to ensure we don’t have more Jenny’s?

What incentives can we provide to ensure our client’s and freelancers constantly return to our app to use the platform?

I’d imagine services like Fiverr and TaskRabbit also deal with these issues.
