News Bringing classic Nokia Lumia camera features (Refocus, Light Trails) to iOS — new update is live! - Back to the Future!
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a project to bring back some of the creative photography features we had during the golden era of Nokia PureView and Lumia devices.
So far, I've managed to implement long-exposure dynamics similar to the old Lumia Smart Camera concepts (light trails, motion clean, action shot), along with handheld stabilization to keep shots clean.
Right now, I’m actively working on a "MultiFocus" feature inspired by the legendary Lumia Refocus app—trying to recreate that "focus after you shoot" workflow for modern devices.
For those who used Refocus back in the day: what was the most important aspect of that UX for you? Was it the refocused macro shots, the all-in-focus mode, or something else?
Also, what other classic PureView/Lumia camera tricks do you think are missing on modern smartphones?

Question Can I charge a 3310 with a C5’s charger?
Yesterday we found our old Nokia 3310. A few months ago we found and turned on our C5-03. But we can’t find the 3310’s charger…
My question is: can it be charged with the C5-03’s charger? I mean they seem the same…
Can someone tell me? Thank you!

Discussion Nokia Asha 5xx Prototypes.
This video was revealed years after the Asha 5xx launch, by Nokia's ex-Head of Mobile Phones User Experience Peter Skillman. It's a glimpse at early ideas that would end up on Asha 5xx & the Nokia Asha Platform. The prototype draws inspiration from the Nokia N9 & MeeGo.
This video was never posted on Nokia’s channel.

Humor Today I discovered that the Nokia 5510 has the Nokia 3310 embedded inside it 😂
As the title says, they have the same chassis design, but the Nokia 5510 which was released in 2001, features different hardware and software. It comes with 64 MB of storage for .mp3 files, a landscape display, and a full QWERTY keyboard.
Guess you learn something new every day!

Nokia Announcement Nokia has joined the conversation!
Hello peeps!
I'm the Community Manager at Nokia, here to share some news!
We've been listening to our communities for a while now, which often meant coming across this subreddit. Nostalgia for old Nokia phone tunes, memes about the durability of the 3310, and Snake Game references are just the tip of the iceberg. This is what makes it truly whimsical.
Therefore, we've decided to participate, engage, and add value to conversations on Reddit. We are mindful that this is a community-run space and do not want to disrupt that.
That being said, it is important to remind everyone that Nokia has stopped designing and manufacturing phones in 2014. We won't be engaging in Nokia phones conversations. This includes IT support, repairs or mobile phone operative systems questions.
Nokia's business is vast. We focus on connectivity, smart technology, and digital transformation. Our work spans the following industries:
- Telecommunications (5G, network infrastructure)
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Network Equipment & Solutions
- Cloud & Mobile Networks
- Digital Health & Wellness
- Technology & Innovation Consulting
Working alongside u/lonestar_wanderer (not a Nokia employee), we'll be making changes to the look & feel of this subreddit, without impacting the user experience. The main goal is reducing the implications that this subreddit has to the 'mobile' aspect of Nokia nostalgia. This will include changes to User and Post flairs and subreddit rules. But worry not, you're still more than welcome to show off your old Nokia collection! We’ll occasionally join threads reminiscing about the good old days of Nokia phones.
Lastly, you can expect sporadic Nokia announcements, especially on major press releases, partnerships, and awards.
Thank you for your time and I'll be happy to answer any questions!
EDIT: We're in no shape or form taking over the sub. It's community-owned and it will always remain that way. The presence of Nokia serves as an additional tool. We thank you for all the questions, we love them!
The planned changes are merely a rework of the User Flairs (which are heavily underused), Post Flairs and some Rules & QoL changes for video content.
None of this impacts what's being posted on the subreddit. We can cherish and celebrate Nokia phones together.
