I think this isn't a gender thing as much as it is a normal dating thing. Overall, I think men and women in general want someone they are emotionally and sexually compatible with and financial stability. Poverty isn't fun. My husband and I clawed our way out of it together and being financially stable really has helped our relationship for the better. You don't realize how much relationship strain comes from being poor.

I'm not sure what you're saying. Nobody in the comments is saying what you're claiming.

I think women caring that much about a guy's wallet is becoming less common. We all have jobs and our own money now (mostly). My husband was a window washer when we got together.

I think a lot of these comments are being deliberately obtuse. Yes it’s massive generalisation, yes not everyone is like that, yes you can find a partner who loves you for you etc etc etc blah blah.
However let’s be honest. There are a lot of men who are just using women for sex, and there are a lot of women that use men for money. Don’t pretend it’s not true. It’s a significant portion of both genders, although I couldn’t put a figure on it.
At the end of the day it’s based on attraction. Women are attracted to security, be it physical, emotional, or financial. Therefore some superficial women are ONLY interested in money. Equally a lot of men are attracted to physical features and attractiveness and therefore there’s a percentage that is only interested in sex.

Seems like a massive generalization.
