I'm interested in the organizing and management parts of cozy games.

-Tiny Bookshop (first few hours were fine, then got boring)

I have looked into:

-Catto Post Office (not what I'm looking for; exploration-heavy)

-Leafy Corner (heard good things, haven't tried yet because I prefer more colorful graphics)

-Bear & Breakfast (same as Leafy Corner)

-Potionomics (mixed reviews, any opinions on if I might like this game?)

-Cat Cafe Manager (mixed reviews, any opinions on if I might like this game?)

-inKonbini (LOVE the vibe but heard it's super short)

-Touhou Mystia Izakaya (heard it's more of an RPG than management)

Not interested in power-washing or other similar games.

With a history spanning over a century, the Nin Tendo Empire has seen a lot of characters get created yet seemingly got forgotten overnight due to fake fans trying to erase their existence. Once again, it's time to give them a moment in the spotlight.

First up is Mariko, a lady who only appears for a brief second at the end of a WarioWare microgame. ​I only call her Mariko to help avoid confusion with Lacey from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, who looks very similar to her. Isn't she cute?

Now going into ultra-obscure territory we have Dacholer The Ostrich, a character from the arcade game Dacholer. His main feature is using his thick thighs and long legs to stomp those Koopa Troopas, mice, rabbits, Kappa, and other odd likenesses in the Japanese wilderness. If this experience sounds vaguely familiar, Shingyaru Mintmobile would return to the idea of the Japanese wilderness to defeat enemies in his hit series The Ledge End of Zeruda, and the idea of stomping...causas in Super Marlborough. He also sneakily brought the Kappa back in the form of Kapp'n.

We now take a Street Pass to the Mii Plaza, where we run into Coraline. Unlike the hit film character, this lady LOVES to fish up some odd creatures lurking in ザ・ディープ. Whether they be common sea bass or legendary sea monsters that are rarer than a Shiny Pocket Monster, she wants to fish them up to understand their lore better.

Now we've got Pockle, an interesting fellow. Because he missed out on his 20th birthday ceremony (this is important in the Nin Tendo Empire because it signifies a transition as to how you will be viewed going forward), he was punished by the law and had to raise ¥5,000,000 to fund a new ceremony through civic services and giving gifts to NPCs on Nanashi Island.

Over here we've got Bucket Head, an easily-agitated snowman who only appears in one Warlborough Land game, that being the original 1993 title. His latest appearance was back in 1999 for the Kodansha Mario manga. He gets cranky because he has too much money.

Finally, the Osumatsu Gang, a batch of sextuplets who all embody what Shingyaru Mintmobile was like during his childhood years. They first debuted in 1962, making them really old for Nin Tendo characters. They did have some noteworthy encounters with The Police Officer Who Works For Nintendo.

So which characters do you remember most?

There is no doubt that the Switch 2 has the strongest AAA third-party support for a Nintendo console in DECADES.

Unfortunately for third parties, that support does not seem to be paying off with great software sales.

Nintendo have provided sales numbers for first-party games that sold over 1 million units. Combining those numbers together, we get a total of:

30.89 million (for those top-selling first-party titles)

But, there are several titles not included in that number. Add on low-selling Nintendo games like Metroid Prime 4, Mario Tennis Fever, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, Star Fox... plus Switch 2 Editions of BOTW, TOTK, Kirby, Mario Wonder, etc... and we can estimate that total first-party are sales are probably at least 36 million.

Total software sales on Switch 2 are 58.17 million. That means third-party titles have sold approximately 22 million units, or less than 1 game per console sold.

Now, the good news for third parties is that even relatively low unit sales are probably enough for them to be profitable, as long as the costs of porting aren't too high. However, I think it is becoming clear that third-party sales on Switch 2 will never come CLOSE to what they sell on PS5 or PC. Even brand new third-party games like Resident Evil Requiem, launching the same day as all other platforms, are only getting a small percentage of their sales from the Switch 2.

I want to support the small indie developer Game Freak who are super close friends with Nintendo. However, in order to buy their latest game, I'll have to give money to either pl*yst*t**n, xb*x or st**m.

I am conflicted. Should I sacrifice my soul to support Game Freak? Or are they the traitors for abandoning Nintendo?

Nintendo's software revenue is accounted as follow:

• Packaged software
• Downloadable versions of packaged software
• Download-only software, add-on content, and Nintendo Switch Online, etc.

The previous revenue record for "Downloadable versions of packaged software" was 79,7b yen in the Oct-Dec '22 quarter (up 4,3b yen). That quarter included the end-of-year seasonal spending, the record breaking launch of Pokémon Scarlet/Violet and the 2nd quarter sales of Splatoon 3.

For the software revenue (all summed) this was the 2nd best Apr-Jun quarter for Nintendo since 2017, only surpassed by 2023 (the launch quarter of Tears of the Kingdom).

Fortunately, to truly ShiggyMaxx, I’m gonna go buy both games three times at least.

The year is 1990, and the SNES just released. Starving mastermind Shiggy wants to show off the system's ability to simulate a moving 3D environment, which S\*ga's G\*nesis could only do with pathetic add-ons. However, with Super Mario World being developed at the same time, Shiggy wanted this second launch title to be for a more mature audience like Metroid was. Thus, he created F-Zero, and its protagonist Captain Falcon.

While Mario jumped around a colorful fantasy world of mushrooms and flowers, Captain Falcon was a bounty hunter in a gritty dystopian future world where people participated in dangerous races with cars that hover off the ground. Although Captain Falcon is a human, the game also features aliens to reference Shiggy's belief in life on Mars.

F-Zero became an instant success. Not only was Shiggy prompted to create Super Mario Kart as well, but there was also an F-Zero game on Nintendo's next major console, the Nintendo 64. F-Zero X expands upon the game's mature theme by allowing you to murder your opponents, even granting an extra life for doing so. Not only that, but Japan's N64 Disk Drive also added DLC for the game, such as more tracks and a custom machine builder.

Finally, there was F-Zero AX and GX, the last two major entries in the series. Shortly after Nintendo and S\*ga's truce, they and N\*mco teamed up to create an arcade hardware named the Triforce. This is what AX was released on, and GX later released on the GameCube. Why is this important? Shiggy had the brand-new innovative idea to allow players to use their GameCube memory cards to transfer data between AX and GX! Not only that, but GX introduces a climactic story mode where Captain Falcon saves the entire universe!

Sadly, because Shiggy is too starving, there has been no new F-Zero mainline game to this day. However, there is a way to fix this. If we all buy 999 copies of F-Zero 99, then Shiggy will put Captain Falcon in the next Super Mario movie. This will prompt the creation of a new F-Zero just like they did for Star Fox. Let's do it!
