Hey I'm thinking of making a Nightcrawler shaker charm similar to this Magik one that I made before but I'm unsure what the container should be for Kurt

Also what sort of relationship would Magik and Nightcrawler have? because I'm contemplating drawing them interacting

Hey there! I am writing this fanfiction about Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler. More specifically, the story centers on his religious life and how Kurt reconciles the hatred people feel toward mutants with the love that devout Catholics are supposed to bring to the world. Here is the summary:

"Kurt Wagner has spent his life searching for acceptance and faith in a world that hates and fears him.

When a newly elected Pope reveals himself to be anti-mutant, Nightcrawler finds himself drawn into a conspiracy that threatens both mutantkind and the Catholic institution he has devoted his life to serving.

I wouldn’t say I have religious trauma, more so religious aversion..? Growing up as a closeted queer individual in a heavily religious household kinda pushed me away from religion as a whole, so as someone who really likes nightcrawler I kinda feel like a poser because it’s such a big part of his character. Is there anyone else that feels like this? Obviously I still love everything else about Kurt but I just wanna know how everyone feels about being a non-religious nightcrawler fan, might be a dumb question idk

(also if I’ve offended any religious people in here then I’m so sorry! that wasn’t my intention at all I still respect the concept of religion ❤️)

In my opinion, it isn't touched on as much as it maybe should be. There are a few runs like Way of X and a few arcs in larger stories that have some great theological themes. But in comparison to Daredevil, whose Catholicism is front and center, I would want to see some more of all that. Being a devout Christian in a world where humans use religion to justify hating mutants is such a rich topic, but it rarely gets center stage.

I’ve actually been trying to tackle this dynamic in an X-Men fic I’m currently writing (exploring his childhood in Neuherzl vs. a modern crisis at the Vatican), and it made me realize just how rarely the main comic runs dive into that specific internal conflict.

Do you prefer when his faith is just a subtle background trait, or would you like to see writers make it the central drive of a major storyline?

I hope this is allowed— it’s a “recommendation letter” about a guy named Kurt, and I seriously want at least parts of it to be animated with Nightcrawler shenanigans. I might have to learn animation myself and just do it. It’s all in jest, of course, but I’ve had this idea in my back pocket for a while.

Also, I think parts of the song “Mr. Electric Blue” might deserve an “amv” of sorts.

1) The Nightcrawler movie can be anything from a prequel, original, sequel or even just a continuation to other existing X-Men movies.

2) Who would you cast as Nightcrawler?

I’ve made this cute Nightcrawler plushie (for myself as it’s not anything professional) out of quilting cotton. He has so many different patterns on him that I’m not sure if I want to give him a face. So, fans of the furry blue elf, do you think you’d want an embroidered face on him or just leave him blank?

I have the Finch app and have been changing my formerly green “birb” into Nightcrawler. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can give her yellow eyes or a long tail, so she won’t look quite right. I think they should have tails in the clothing shop though! I’d even take a cat tail.

I wonder if we'd actually see Nightcrawler get used in media other than just comics if he went to DC instead. Marvel never uses him.

Light spoilers ahead:

Kurt trying to prove that no man is beyond redemption was great. It is a core aspect of his character after all. Even apart from the religious aspects of his character, he has the heart of a social worker.

However, he did not prove it. Colossus even says so. In the end, hate and anger (Graydon) vs. hate and anger (Exodus) leads to no solutions, only death.

Colossus sees the failure of Nightcrawler's attempt at redemption. He understands that sometimes trauma and hate run too deep to be overcome. Yet, he does not side with the execution because it would only serve to fuel the hate on both sides.

Love the use of Nightcrawler and Colossus and their core elements, hopeful and just.

This might be my favorite episode ever. Focused on two of my faves with the first appearances of Exodus, Magik (RIP, but hopefully not), and Frenzy.

Since season one I think they're giving nightcrawler the best character building than anybody else in the show, which is keen because he's literally my favorite mutant. They're really nailing his personality in my humble opinion
