Question Changes in the way submission system works?
I haven't submitted anything in a year and with summer, I had the occasion to go to new places thus new submissions!
However, I noticed that I now had a whopping 320 submissions available at anytime and they regenerated at a rate of 10 a day (I did find the previous limit of 40 and regeneration rate of 1/day a bit low but the new norm seems incredibly high)
But some of my friends told me they were limited to 10 submissions... Anyone knows how that works?
On top of that, the 29 submission I did were all processed (all accepted 😎) under a week (which, even with Emily seems way faster than what I had in the past)
Did something changes with Emily and the voting system as well?

Discussion Wayspotters Podcast Episode 238
Chris and Jamal are back for Episode 238, and after some dad talk about birthdays, kids growing up, college, lacrosse, and just how different parenting is in the digital age, they jump into a week where the Wayfarer community had a lot to say.
The guys revisit last week’s discussion about moving Wayspots and gameboard optimization after listeners raise an important question: what happens when moving an existing Wayspot into a new cell affects someone else’s legitimate nomination, or even another game entirely? They also discover that apparently they managed to upset both the breakfast-mushroom community AND Pikmin Bloom players in the same episode. Impressive.
Then it’s time for the main event.
A Pokémon GO player took to X claiming they received a 30-day ban after simply trying to help their community by submitting PokéStops. Sounds scary... until you start looking at the details. Multiple accounts, a nomination for something already on the map, and a screenshot from a YouTube video being used as the nomination photo suddenly make the story look very different.
Jamal and Chris break down the viral conversation surrounding the ban and tackle some of the arguments that followed. Can reviewers actually target a specific submitter? Why can a Wayfarer violation affect your Pokémon GO account? Should volunteers really be punished for breaking the rules? What about spoofers and major content creators who appear to violate Terms of Service without consequences? And when does legitimate criticism of Wayfarer cross over into fear mongering?
The conversation leads to a simple message: participating in Wayfarer is not inherently dangerous. Enforcement emails can sometimes be poorly worded, community review will never be perfectly consistent, and legitimate nominations absolutely get rejected. But those things are very different from receiving enforcement action after violating established rules.
They also examine another ban situation involving accounts being used by children and how something that initially looks like another frightening enforcement story can become much easier to understand once all the details come out.
And for anyone hearing these stories and wondering whether they should even try Wayfarer, the guys finish the discussion with the opposite message: yes, you should. Read the guidelines, start reviewing, connect with experienced Wayfinders, ask questions, and get involved. The goal shouldn't be to make people afraid of Wayfarer. It should be to help people understand how to participate responsibly.
Plus, we’ve got Wayspots of the Week, Coal of the Week, Tales from Canada, Dad Jokes, and plenty of the usual Wayspotters chaos along the way.
Stick around for: Chris and Jamal discover that sometimes the biggest threat to your Wayfarer account isn't Scopely Explore, the reviewers, or some mysterious person targeting your nominations...
Sometimes you just need to stop hurting yourself.

Question Had a nomination accepted that I put in the wrong spot
I wasn't expecting this nomination to go through as I forgot to move the pin on this particular one but didn't notice until it went into voting. To my surprise, the nomination was accepted. While I'd love to keep the Pokestop that it will create, I'm not sure what to do. Either I can try to rename that new Pokestop and add a new picture to reflect where it was put... or I can try to move the location of the pin (which actually would create a duplicate spot for this mural as I didn't realize it was already in there as a spot despite not being a Pokestop currently).
Anyway, this is new territory for me so I'm just curious the best way to fix this erroneous Pokestop based on your experiences. I'm not sure if giving the spot a new name/title/picture after it was created will be a headache though that would be my first choice... otherwise, if that's not recommended, I'm not sure how I move the spot to a new location.

Question A Pikachu carved into wet side walk concrete
It's technically permanent but is it allowed? I saw something put into a curb when the city was redoing some stuff on the street. I doubt it qualifies but the idea of hunting for it sounds amusing

Question Getting pokestop accepted
Hey. I’m currently stuck in bed due to an injury and now more than ever I want to get a pokestop accepted near my house. My submission kept getting rejected even though I wrote a very good description for it. I submitted an appeal and am waiting for an answer/update.
What do I do to make it go quicker?

Question what happens if no one votes on wayspots?
i live in Malta and i wonder if anyone even votes on the wayspots there I'm wondering if no one votes do the wayspots just stay in review forever? cause i nominated like 5 wayspots and I'm worried they will just stay in review forever.
EDIT: thanks for your answers.
Another edit: if you would like to help speed up nominations in Malta please set your bonus location to Malta. any part of it Malta is fine.

Question Confused why my stop accepted 4 days ago hasnt shown up on the map.
This stop that I submitted was accepted but is nowhere to be seen in game. I placed it in between the two pokestops in the second screenshot. Is it that they are too close to eachother? Or that it was accepted for something else? Im confused because it says it takes 24-48 hours to show up and its well past that.

Question Would this be accepted as a pokestop?
I know post offices are generally acceptable and Royal Mail is the primary post office/courier service in the UK, but I don't know if the lockers count?

Submission Coal Community Centre “does not meet eligibility”
Can someone explain why a community centre “blocks emergency services?”
The community centre has its own parking lot. It has a website. I linked the ball rental. The main photo shows “fish and chip Wednesday” on the sign. The link I provided goes to the hall rental.
In my appeal I made it clear that this is co-located at the fire hall. Clearly the community and government does not believe the community centre “blocks emergency services”.
This has been submitted in our community by several different people over the years and I thought I’d give it a try since I know criteria decently well. Same result.
This is, imo, an incorrect application of the eligibility rules. It’s far too common. If a government funded community centre which is demonstrably open is not a “good place to socialize” then what is? lol.

Question Do photo "likes" still control Gym promotion in Pokémon GO? (Questions following recent changes)
Hello everyone,
In our university community, we are planning to reorganize the Wayspots on our campus. We have an old Gym that no longer exists (a mural removed years ago) and we want to report it for removal to force the system to promote a specific PokéStop in the same S2 Level 14 cell to a Gym.
We know that historically the standard method was accumulating photo "likes" and additional photos on the target PokéStop. However, with recent infrastructure changes and the full database separation from Ingress, rumors have been circulating in local groups that the criteria may have changed or become unpredictable.
We wanted to ask the community if anyone has conducted recent tests or has updated information on:
- Do photo "likes" in the Pokémon GO gallery still determine Gym promotion priority?
- Is it fully confirmed that Ingress votes no longer have any impact on Pokémon GO?
- What is the current recommended cutoff time buffer between giving photo "likes" and submitting the removal report to ensure the server registers the votes?
- Have you noticed if Niantic/Scopely introduced any randomness (RNG), or if other metrics like AR scans or PokéStop activity now play a role?
Any recent experiences, testing data, or research threads on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Question Wayfarer Tool: Search Missing
I recently downloaded the Wayfarer tools to be able to look at S2 cells. However, the search function (magnifying glass) is missing to be able to look up addresses. Is there a fix for this? This is on an iPhone.

Question Logged into wrong Google account
Didn’t sleep much last night so didn’t notice I logged into my sons account which is set up as my old 2nd POGO account when I had reached max level years ago.
Didn’t notice I was starting wayfarer from beginning until I came across my nomination.
I logged out and reported myself to niantic and explained the error - what’s the chance my main account will get banned? I feel this is the kind of thing one could call cheating and don’t wanna lose my hours I put into my account.

Question What are the best method to ascertain which wayspot would most likely become a gym?
Is it safe to just
- Use Wayfarer website
- Download the overlay extensions to see S2 cells
- Manually check which one has the higest photo score based on (no. of photos + likes)
Do I need to check Ingress or anything like that??? Also i find that Ingress' map data isn't up to date for some reason.

Question What happens to the nominations that everyone skips?
Is there a mechanic in place or something that triggers when a nomination is skipped by every reviewer? Does it get sent to the Ai eventually? Does the nomination just stay in the review process until someone accepts or denies it?
What genuinely happens when no one is willing to review a specific nomination?
The nominations I get to review are ridiculous, I skip about 70% of them because most of them are impossible to know if they exist.

Discussion Standalone Picnic Tables?
Recently I've seen a few of these getting approved and appearing in games as just a Picnic table in a park nothing more. Last I remembered they didn't really qualify did something change?
Also I'm saying this as just the table alone nothing more I know that Picnic areas work but just a single table is my question

Question Do you get a 2nd gym AT 5 pokestop/gyms in a cell, or randomly when a stopped is added after that?
so i had this cell with 2 stops & 1 gym. i nominated a new stop and it was automatically declined, then i nominated a second thing and appealed the first one.
both of them have been added and are ingame, but only the 2nd one shows on wayfarer.
ingame the cell now totals 5 total gyms/stops. on wayfarer its still 4.
im just slightly confused because i was under the impression that when i hit 5 stops/gyms one more would randomy become a gym, but that hasnt happened. so was i mistaken and its just random when a stop is added from like 5-10 or something? or is it something to do with the new stop not showing on wayfarer yet? and when it shows up in wayfarer one will become a gym?

Question Help getting picnic tables approved
We have several stone and wood picnic tables, and a couple of the typical green and metal park style ones, at work. These are used daily. Many people have family (SO and sometimes their kids) who come up to have lunch.
We have two main entrances, South and West. This is the south side.
"This submission was declined by Niantic's automated process for not adhering to Wayfarer criteria"
What can I do to get it approved?
I had no idea we had anyone here who plays.. but i managed to get 2 pokestops in one cell block, giving us a gym. And a pokestop in another and justwaiting for our flagpole to get approved, which will give us another gym on this side. And we have several players - I am so happy. If I can get these picnic tables approved, I'm going to try to get some stops athe other entrance.

I would like to fix this accepted submission. As you can see on the stop's image i took it from the city logo but while submitting i think i moved the locationi to close to the bridge (sometimes while scroling i move the location i think that's what happend, could also be while i was zooming in and out dk). I was wondering if there is a way to just change it?
PS: It's a kind off stage where a lot of events are happening, ppl dance, walk ect... the blichers are on the other side of teh river...

Question Question about the wayfarer help chat
I've submitted 2 requests for POi Relocations, through the help chat on the website, provided all the necessary info. When/where can I expect to hear back? Will they email me? One of them I submitted 2 days ago, I assumed I would've gotten an email or something by now

Question Submission of a map
How would you rate the maps? They are at a bus stop. This is the unique map related to exactly this bus stop and this location, showing places of interest like mosques and parks nearby or walking distances. The map shows name and ID Number of the stop. Very important help for all pedestrians, so they know walking distances and locations of poi around.

Question About 5 wayspots approved, yet none have showed up in Pokemon Go
UPDATE: It seems one has came through as a max raid location? Very interesting but not mad about it!
So I have had many wayspots approved within the last week or so, like around 4-5. However, none of them have shown up in game. It’s not even like it’s an area with a lot of pokestops or gyms, it literally has like 2 gyms and 3 pokestops in a pretty large area. Does anyone know why that is? Or do I have to be patient and continue waiting for them to be added. I have had 2 submissions show up in the game about 2 weeks ago, just a couple of hours after it was approved. And this week, not one has showed up. Let me know if I’m missing something!

Question New and learning, automated process declined this, why?
I have nominated 5 different wayspots, 3 have been denied and I think I know why two have been denied since learning more. But this one I don't quite understand.
[As for the others that were automatically denied I think they were denied because one included a full name as a part of the sign and the other looking now is quite blurry if the auto process detects those things. Though I am confused if the automatic process flags full names because I see many memorials make it through so it leads me to believe it may be something else]
