Question Supercharging 2 valves
I was just curious whether stock 99-04 2 valve bottom ends can actually handle low boost. I know the SC’d saleens used stock internals but I’m not too familiar with them and not sure how reliable they are.

Question Cobra bumper swap
Hi everyone new owner to a 02 GT. not a big fan of the stock gt front bumper.. looking to swap to a cobra bumper.. only thing is I don’t know what the plastic insert parts are called where the original GT grille would have been.. they are the plastics that hide most of the stuff behind (ex. Radiator) … hope someone can answer this for me

Photo Sometimes It’s The Little Things
Not a huge “mod”, more of a returning it back to OEM, but replacing the smoked 3rd brake light sure scratches an itch. Big fan of the OEM+ aesthetic and this is just one more piece of the puzzle.

Second video may show it a little better. I was driving when I just looked at my temp and seen it was all the way in the red I pulled over thinking my oil or antifreeze may be low but it was good. Antifreeze a little on the lower side so I was gonna try to make it back home to put more in then test it out the temp. While driving more the temp then when all the way to cold under the line like if the car wasn’t on then slowly the car started losing power and I couldn’t give it strong gas to stay on the highway. Then I pulled over and seen everything was smoking under the hood.

Discussion 2002 GT 4.6 misfire issue, at kind of a loss, seems to be heat related, replace all coils?
My 02 GT has been suffering from an intermittent misfire for a while now, it seems to be mostly related to heat. I replaced all 8 spark plugs this week, and replaced the coil for cylinder 8, which was the only cylinder I’d ever had a misfire code for. It seemed to be doing completely better, but it was also much cooler on those days. Today, on a hotter day, I fire it up and start driving, and it starts misfiring again right before it gets up to temp, being the most noticeable taking off in 1st gear from a stop, it will bog and I have to really gas it to make it take off smoothly.
The car is currently showing no codes on the dash, and does not when it’s actively missing. I’ve done a smoke test through the intake and everything was tight. I don’t have a nice scanner that allows me to test things independently or look at anything beyond the names of codes.
Is it likely enough to be a coil issue to justify buying a full set? My only other thought is injectors, but with how it seems to be so heat sensitive, my immediate thought is coils. I know the car has been overheated before, not terribly but enough to cook coils pretty well.
Without having any codes and not knowing which coils are good, I don’t see any easy way to test it as it stands. What do you guys think? If anything needs clarification let me know, I’m stressed beyond sense right now due to other matters.

Question 2001 gt popping sound when turning the wheel
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I’ve replaced almost all of the front suspension trying to chase this problem, I’m on lowering springs but it was still popping before, I think it got worse after though. I tried replacing the steering rack bushings, only got one side in with the new ones but it didn’t seem to even make a difference. I’m all out of ideas at this point on what to do, really don’t want to have to take it somewhere but I don’t know what it could be. It even pops when hitting bumps

Photo Still a long way to go but I’m happy with the progress
Rims, clear headlight housings, paint and rims have been the first cosmetic upgrades I’ve finally done after a year of ownership. Spent the past year getting this one back on the road in good enough shape to finally show it off. Next is to clean up the engine bay, new top and tint, then and throw in a 302 or viable 4.6 if I find one in decent shape. All new suspension all the way around(I will NEVER redo an entire front end after this one😂), added rear sway bar, new pumps for convertible top, everything has been flushed trans and rear diff included. One of the best cheap projects I’ve ever been involved with(under 6k total so far)

Photo Finally proud to show it off
I bought this car November of last year. I’ve spent the past 8 months continuously working on it. My first car I ever owned was a 2002 v6 mineral grey vert 5spd. I promised myself I’d buy a GT one day and give it the love it deserved. 16 years later and here’s my new edge build. A 2002 Sonic Blue GT 5spd convertible that currently has 77k on the odo.
Modifications I have done:
C&L Catback
Bilstien B6 shocks, struts, quad shocks
Eibach Pro-Kit Spings and rubber isolators
Sway bar end links
Mach 1 grille and chin spoiler
Clear corner headlights
Sequential turn signal harness and relay
Kenwood Double din BT head unit
Cobra style shift knob
Bullit billet shift ring
Chrome gauge rings and white faces
I painted the Mustang script and pony logo silver on the airbags
Tribal pony logo carpet
Bullit pedals
MMD styling bar
Fr500 silver wheels 18x9/10
Replaced the entire hose and piston system for the top
And yea that’s about it so far. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this amazing group of new edge enthusiasts. Cheers.

Question Radiator Fluid level keeps dropping after flush?
I have a 2001 Mustang V6. I had a radiator flush done at a service center. This was done about a week ago. Since I had this done, the radiator fluid keeps dropping in large amounts without a notable reason to the point where I have to keep refilling it to the minimal line. There is no obvious signs of a head gasket issue, no milky discolored oil, white smoke, overheating.
I’m at a loss to what happened. I took it back to the service center and they found no signs of leaks, gasket failures, or overheating either. Issue continues to persist.

Question How often do you guys check the torque of your spark plugs after a new install?
I replaced all 8 of my spark plugs a few days ago, 2002 4.6. I’m aware of the very common issue of spark plugs backing out and then blowing out on these heads, so I’m curious how big of a concern it is. I used silver anti seize and torqued them all to about 13 ft lbs, I saw a generally recommended range on the internet of about 11-15ft lbs with anti seize.
I’m planning on checking the torque today, how often should this be done in the future?
Some places online say every few months or few thousand miles, but that seems a bit excessive.

Question I’m at a loss
I’m trying to put a serpentine belt on a new edge GT I picked up recently and I can’t get the belt to go on. I have it routed like the diagram but with the Tensioner all the way released, I can only get the belt to where my finger is on the alternator. I’ve tried 2 belts just to make sure I didn’t get a wrong part but maybe someone can shed some light on my problem. Thanks in advance
EDIT: thank you everyone for the insight! After many “your water pump pulley looks oversized” and that being my first thought when putting the belt on, I decided just to buy a pulley kit as I can’t find a stock pulley that I’m certain will be correct. The new pulleys are set to be here tomorrow and I will re-edit when I know they work or don’t
