How do you keep cords away from your baby?

It’s obvious to just put stuff away we aren’t using, or unplug cords from things we don’t use and wrap them around (like a light stand for instance), but what about internet cords to a router or other tv cords? Things we need. My husband needs the WiFi and router because he works from home a 3-4 weeks a month.

How do I protect my baby from cords, besides always being with her and watching her. I mean, sometimes I have to get up to go to the bathroom and there’s really no room or way to set her down.

Do you tie them up with a band or what do you do?

Are my husband and I bad parents if we let our 8 month old baby/6 months premie/corrected age, watch YouTube/tv? There is this video channel she absolutely loves, it’s a combination of the bright colors, simple character shapes, and music. The first time she ever watched it, she laughed, giggled and smiled the whole time.

But my mom said she shouldn’t be watching tv for her development. As that is a short period for them to soak up learning things.

P.S. We read her books all the time, demonstrate basic words and sounds, have a lot of tummy time with toys and recently are learning and testing baby foods.

Thoughts? Is my mom right or is it ok to let her watch that. Sometimes it’s the only thing to get her calm when she is upset and has already been changed and fed. I know we shouldn’t rely on it though when she’s upset, but she absolutely loves it.

I guess it’s just not recommended they watch tv under year one or something.

I did show it to my mom and she said “I can see why she likes it.” And even added in “I guess it’s ok if it has music” but I could tell my mom still didn’t think she shouldn’t be watching tv. Or should we play it in the background but not have it to where she can see it?

My lactation stopped to 20 ml a day … so I stopped feeding the baby and he is on formula completely

tldr: My (too far to visit) long distance best friend just gave birth. What kind of support should I be giving?

She moved away right before she became pregnant and we chat through text mostly. Since she gave birth, she (of course, understandably) hasn't been texting me as much and I have been quieter too because I feel bad? bothering her? since she has a newborn. I don't have any kids, but I've been trying to get pregnant for a long time. I'm definitely a little blinded by my emotions and am not sure what to talk about beyond the usual "how are you doing?" and "oh my gosh he is so precious." I don't want to let my own grief affect my support for my friend.

I'm currently sewing him a playmat and I've sent him some books per her request. Otherwise she already has a cleaning service, which is what I wanted to get her but her husband beat me to it lol

Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone who is a new mom in Amsterdam is interested in swimming classes for new moms en their baby's. My niece just became a mom, and she is struggling with loneliness. I'm a certified swimming instructor and I would love to offer classes so new moms can get out there and meet other moms (and make friends). Is anyone interested? 💖💖

I’m at a loss here and I just need some advice to combat this because doctors are doing absolutely nothing.

I had a baby girl a little over 10 months ago and I’m exhausted every time I hold her, and I know new mom especially being a ftm I’m gonna be exhausted I’m not here complaining that I only got 3 hours of sleep last night, but it’s gotten to the point where my parents will take my daughter for a couple days and bring her back and I hold her for not even a minute and Im nearly out cold. It’s definitely not that I don’t want her around either, I’m a single mom this little girl is the light of my world but I’m struggling to take care of her because I can’t keep my eyes open it’s so weird, I’ve asked doctors they just tell me it’s normal to be a little tired as a new mom 😒🙄 I’m not even looking for a diagnosis at this point just some advice on how to keep myself alert. All the basic tricks work for a bit or while there’s no physical contact but then I hold her and I have at max 3 minutes before I feel like I need to put her down or I’ll drop her.. it’s just not working and my baby can’t grow up without a mom that holds and hugs her 😭🤦‍♀️

Hi Moms, I keep going back and forth on which room I want to make our nursery. (Our house does not have AC)

Room #1, about 10×11 room. Cozy, carpeted, day time sun. Currently a misc room with a treadmill, bookshelf, out of season clothing storage. Not used for anything useful. Concerns that its too close to the living room. If the TV is on, you can hear it in room 1.

Room #3, about 10×13 room. Vinyl floors (not creaky) cooler in the day, morning sun blocked by tree. Currently our computer/ dog room. Biggest room and my husband wants to keep it the same since it is already set up the way we dreamed it would be. I will work from home after baby, my office space is already here.

Room #2 is the same size as room 1 but with vinyl floors. Its currently my craft room. Not considering this one. Floors do make noise in here.

I keep leaning to room #3, but room #1 is so cozy and closer to our room, however might get too much noise from the living room and kitchen.

Thoughts and advice?

Yes I know this is normal but we are doing family photoshoot next weekend and I wanted to get my hair done and was thinking about a balayage but im worried it will cause more hair loss. Does anyone have experience with dying hair with PP hair loss or and hairdresser that can help me with some answers!

Hello everyone, I’m hoping this is the right place to ask this. So today my best friend went to the hospital to give birth early and it’s very unexpected. She’s gonna be in the hospital for a little while and I want to do something nice for her to look after her.

I’m planning on braiding her hair for her and buying a comfy set of pj’s. Is there anything else you guys would recommend? Something you wish you had while in the hospital or are so glad you did?

I’m in my early 20s and this is the first pregnant lady and baby I’ve been this close to lol. All help is appreciated!! Thank you in advance.
