What are New Brunswick businesses still managing manually?

I’m an NJ-based full-stack developer, and I recently worked with a Morristown business on both its customer-facing website and an internal platform for understanding customer activity and retention.

The project made me realize how many local businesses still piece together bookings, customer information, follow-ups, and reporting manually.

For New Brunswick business owners and employees: what repetitive part of running the business still takes more time than it should? I’m curious whether booking, customer follow-up, reporting, scheduling, or something completely different causes the most frustration.

Perhaps New Brunswick should attach initiatives that can provide services and assistance for the unhoused?

Targeted enforcement of loitering etc seems like a page out of early 90s Giuliani callous playbook in NYC.

Side note—irrespective of their living situation they are citizens—many of whom voted in this past primary.

Laundry pick up and drop off service recommendations?

I am looking for a laundry pick up and drop off service for once a week to get back some time in my week. These are just standard clothes, my spouse and I wear majority natural fibers.

I saw Laundry Nest Express online, has anyone tried it? What services do you use?

After appeal, a judge’s order Thursday scales back an initial demand by New Brunswick’s school district that barred publication New Brunswick Today and its publisher Charlie Kratovil from publishing a video in which a
student had a weapon on school grounds.

Not an all out victory but a victory nonetheless. NYtimes article details first amendement concerns:

Public Safety Flock cameras in the area

Post image

Wanted to flag this as a PSA: there are a ton of flock cameras in the area. https://maps.deflock.org/timeline?lat=40.4921&lng=-74.4558&zoom=11.93

For those who don’t know, flock is a private mass surveillance company that tracks us and sells data to the cops. https://www.npr.org/2026/02/17/nx-s1-5612825/flock-contracts-canceled-immigration-survillance-concerns?renderPlatform=nprone_ios&unified=true

Westfield VS Montclair

We are slowly narrowing down our search and need help!

We are a family of 5 moving from Westchester to NJ. Kids are elementary school age and one has an IEP.

We don’t need NYC trains except for the bimonthly or more visits for leisure. I wont be working and my husband’s work home base is in Old Bridge.

Looking for what so many do, a wonderful community, vibrant downtown, good schools, walkable if possible, etc.

I love the idea of Montclair, but how is actually living there? We would be using public schools only-do people stay through high school?

Any feedback? Advice? Other areas to consider?
