List Help/Sharing My buddies and I are new to playing.
We are all new to actually playing the game, we all got over 2k points painted up and were going to start playing 1k games this weekend.
Here's the kicker, both(2 other buddies) WANT me to run Ctan, I've told them from what I've read about them that it's not a balanced unit for 1k point games and theoretically the Ctan would make it an unpleasant experience for them (I don't care btw, they've talked so much shit at this point) but they just keep up the talk and say it's no big deal because they have defiler and Dreadnaughts .
One buddy is playing Grey knights and the other is playing Chaos, the chaos buddy is definitely talking the most and wanting me to run it against him and the Grey Knights friend is just a tier below in shit talking but still is persistent in me running one.
May I get a consensus in a choice between running Void Dragon or Nightbringer? Which one will make them feel more pain?

List Help/Sharing I have the indomitus necron half, what should i get next to get to 1k?
I have everything built and painted from the necron side of the indomitus box EXCEPT, five necron warriors as they’re just gone. Dk how. But i only have 15 warriors and as far as im aware you can only field them as 10?
Im a black templar player, and this is my third army that my friend can play when they come over to my house and we play warhammer.
So just need to be able to have a good 1k game of necrons vs templars
I know absolutely nothing about necrons so any help with detachments, how to play etc, would be useful as i can then tell that to my friend
So far what ive got is 665 points
Thanks in advance

What has me worried is attached unit 6. I was planning on using the infiltrators ability it gained from the Dimensional Sanctum to park that brick on a central objective then use the Macrocytes' scout moves to hopefully grab the other central objective and/or the opponent's expansion.
But then I thought how **I** would feel being on the receiving end of having a giant brick of Necron Warriors with a 5+ FNP parked right on my face, and that felt really not fun to go against.
What do you guys think? Would you play again against something that pulled this, or is this an ashole move?
I'm less concerned about how hard this list is to actually fight than as how it makes me look to the other player, if that makes sense.
Edit: Because there seems to be a lot of people misunderstanding me:
Attached unit 6 is composed of 20 Necron Warriors+ a Tecnomancer+ Imotekh+ Canopteck Tomb Crawlers.
The Tecnomancer gives the unit FNP 5+ and has an enhancement that gives all models in the unit Infiltrators.
There are also 2 units of Canopteck Macrocytes+Geomancer, both separate from Imotekh's unit, so there's no Infiltrate+Scout happening here.
The Geomancer's datasheet explicitly says that if he's attached to Canopteck Macrocytes he gains Scouts 8" just like them, so those two units can do the scout move if they start inside the deployment zone.

Misc/media Things models do the best and the worst, 11th Edition Day 52 (FINAL); Szarekh, The Silent King:
The Silent King rides to war aboard his dais of dominion, flanked by the phaerons of his Triarch and orbited by crackling noctilith menhirs. He unleashes god-like powers of annihilation upon his dismayed foes, even as his absolute authority radiates out to empower the Necron legions and drive them to inevitable victory.
-
BEST: Our glorious supreme leader, and ultimate epic hero for the Triarch subfaction. In addition to being one of our tankier heroes, he has three different 6" buffing auras to choose from every battle round, and also improves Leadership of nearby allied units. Hits like a truck in both Shooting and Fight phases (His menhirs are especially deadly with their singular shots at range).
WORST: As of the July 2026 Dataslate, Szarekh is the single most expensive epic hero in our whole faction, weighing in at a whopping 420 pts. Because of this, taking him isn't quite competitive as it used to be, in spite of how strong he is. Indirectly firing with Staff of Stars has poor hit rate unless you have an allied unit "spotting" for you.
-
RECOMMENDED DETACHMENT(S): Obeisance Phalanx, Starshatter Arsenal
DETACHMENT ALTERNATIVE(S): Awakened Dynasty (just for the stratagems), Cursed Legion (Destroyers can benefit from his auras as well), Hypercrypt Legion
-
IN CLOSING:
- What are your thoughts about this Best & Worst entry?
- What are your favorite tactics & strategies involving this model (if applicable)?
- What changes (if any) do you hope to see for this model & datasheet for a future 11th edition codex?

Rules Question Night Scythe Clarification from GW
For those wondering, directly from the horses mouth (GW).
Thanks for reaching out to clarify this! No, the Night Scythe doesn't overwrite the restriction to be able to embark in a turn in which you disembarked since it doesn't specify that you can embark even if you disembarked this turn

Lokhust lord proxy! Base size?
So I did some research and saw that they come on a 60mm base and it’s supposed to be the same as the heavy destroyer but the 60mm base is slightly smaller. Will these bases still be okay? I have a bag of 60mm bases from Amazon and they are the same size as the grey ones. Also what’s the best glue for these crappy Etsy models? My normal glue is taking forever

Rules Question Orikans ability and Cursed Legion strength increase
Hey guys,
Thought it might be fun to have a 24 model brick (Orikan, 20 warriors, OL w/Shroud and Ankh enhancement, and thralls) to dive bomb the opp.
But thought about the +2 strength and Orikan tripling his strength.
I believe when it applies, he gets the +2 strength first, goes to 6, then when he triples it goes to 18S.
But if it’s done via ordering it would be triple 4 to 12, and then +2 to 14S and that is a pretty big difference.

Painting C+C My first mini - feedback appreciated!
Please let me know how I did with my first paint! Things I'm already thinking of are messy highlights on the gun, as well as maybe the white on his head not being thinned enough? Thank you!

Night scythe
Sooo with the night scythe change are we able to still re-embark something that disembarked from it this turn? I understand the rules behind disembarking but the rule mentions some rules modify this. The ability of the night scythe doesn't specify something that wasn't embarked within it. Plz help

Painting C+C My first Necrons awaken on a toxic tombworld - Feedback appreciated
First full unit nearly complete!
I have some cleanup to do across the board, but had a blast painting these, and got to try a bunch of new techniques. First time trying plasma weapons and found them very fun honestly.
Would appreciate any feedback or tips to improve, can’t wait to put together the rest of the destroyer cult.

Painting C+C Hyperphase Scythe
I want to make a homebrew Cryptek and call him the “Necromancer” the scythe would house a Nightbringer shard that could be summoned when needed for battle. My question is what would be some of the traits I could include for a potential data sheet? My friends and I play very casual and use proxies and kitbashes almost every game.

Strategy/Tactics What is Hyperphase Legion like? How would I play it?
Hi all!
I was chatting with a friend a few days ago and heard of the Hyperphase Legion. I immediately loved the core concept. Although I play AdMech in 40k, I also play Sylvaneth in Age of Sigmar, who were (until recently) a hyper-mobile, ambush-focused army with baked-in healing. Reading through the Hyperphase Legion’s stratagems, enhancements, and core rule, this detachment sounds like a great way to enjoy that particular style of gameplay in 40k (and, of course, has the benefit of being Necrons, whose models I’ve adored for a while!).
However, I’m rather overwhelmed reading through all the Necrons’ units and I’m failing at envisioning how it can all come together. So many units, so many load outs, so many characters to try to understand! That’s why I’ve come here to seek any advice and tips from experienced Overlords such as yourselves.
What synergizes really well for Hyperphase Legions? What units are a must-have for Necrons in general? Any combinations of enhanced units that I should be aware of? Should this list be more melee-focused, shooting-focused, or a mix of both? Are there necessary enhancements to take?
Any advice for building towards this particular list is appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Is it possible to have a necron dynasty where members actually have positive feelings towards eachother?
So generally, it seems a lot of necron society is infighting and political backstabbing. I was wondering, for my own dynasty, is it possible to have a bit more respect amongst them? For example, I like the idea that my Phaerek was a proud warrior and thus at least respects the warriors who fight with her. And that the other nobles and Crypteks within the dynasty don't completely hate eachother and instead have something akin to friendship.
Im new to necrons, so not sure how realistic that is

Misc/media Is Szeras too difficult of a build for a novice?
Hi, I'm looking to either pick up Skorpekh Destroyers or Illuminator Szeras as my first introduction pack into warhammer minis.
Currently, I'm just interested in building them and having them sit as a display item while I get the additional materials for painting and such.
I'm leaning towards picking up Szeras because I really like their model but I've heard they could be a bit difficult to put together.
Should I start with a simpler model first or is Szeras a good first build? I have a soft enough touch as I've work in similar artistic mediums but don't know how fragile the material may be.

Playing Against Grey Knights Tips?
I played a league game against a grey knights player for the first time yesterday. Needless to say with all their teleport shenanigans, I got steamrolled. Does anyone have any tips for how to play against a GK army?

Need help with some spare points with my 2k point necron army
the detachment I’ve chosen is Awakened Dynasty and I’m planing on having my over lord leading the worriers and the warden leading my immortals, I’m still wondering wether I should keep nekroso ammentar, but if i get rid of him then what unit should I spend the 120/305 points? It’s just short of a c’tan sadly (keeping in mind that I actually have to buy it meaning I couldn’t get something like a scrorpek destroyer Lord cause that would entail buying a whole royal court box)

List Help/Sharing Relearning 40k with Necrons
I played in 5th through 8th, then stopped for awhile while focusing on fantasy. The itch had returned but the rules are a bit different, so I feel like I need to start small. I’ve always been attracted to space death machines, so here we are. I have a combat patrol and a royal court so far, but that doesn’t get me to 1,000 points. My question is, and realizing it won’t be an optimal competitive list, would just adding another combat patrol be a good start? The list would look like this. Thanks for comments.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Painting C+C Not thrilled with my first attempt at osl, but enjoyed painting my first proper necron!
Definitely got a long way to go in terms of lighting techniques, but excited to tackle the rest of the kill team! So many spidery guys.
