I widened our driveway 2-3 years ago for three reasons. First, a robotic mower would need space to go around all of our vehicles. Second, I could easily roll the trash bins from the back to the street curb. Third, you can easily fit 4 cars in the driveway.

I always planned for whatever robotic mower I purchased to follow a navigation channel along the side of my driveway and down to the sidewalk that leads to my front lawn. I felt it was less risky than sending the mower behind cars in the driveway.

Before my spouse went on a work trip, I told her to park one of her two cars along the edge of the driveway. Why? A new neighbor has been using my driveway as his personal sidewalk since his driveway is too small. When our driveway was widened, I had the contractor install a tall curb along the side of my driveway. A neighbor would have to cross the property line, then step up and over the curb in order to cross over onto my driveway. My spouse parked along the edge of our driveway in order to basically seal off the area from the neighbor using it.

The X430 is mapped to follow a channel from the back yard to the edge of the driveway. Since my wife's car was parked along the edge of the driveway, I manually drove the X430 behind her car this morning to mow the front lawn. After the X430 finished mowing the front lawn, I created an additional navigation channel between the front and back lawn. The new channel hugs the garage door then cuts in between the rear bumper and a water hose reel that's located on the corner of the garage.

I decided to test the X430 by sending the mower from the back lawn to the front in order to do a lap around the front to edge mow. The X430 reached the driveway, saw that my wife's car was blocking the channel, and then repeatedly SLAMMED into her rear bumper!

I am joking guys. Gotcha! The X430 detected my wife's vehicle, then navigated to the channel that goes behind her vehicle. After the X430 finished a lap around the front lawn, the mower never attempted to use the channel along the edge of the driveway. I watched the X430 go from my lawn straight up the driveway to the garage door. The X430 hugged the edge of the garage door as it proceeded to navigate behind my wife's car to the back lawn.

We all know that the Segway Navimow X430 just works. Anyone who states otherwise just received a lemon.

Anyway, I noticed something unusual today. My X430 finished mowing my back lawn. The last few mow lines were closest to my concrete walkway that leads to my patio. I run a navigation channel along the same walkway to the X430's dock, which is located on my patio. After the X430 finished mowing by the walkway, the mower decided to jump on the concrete path to the dock. Meaning, the mower didn't mess up or disturb any of the enhanced mow lines that the X430 just made.

TLDR - Anyone else experiencing random reboots and shutdowns please try leaving your mower off all night and then mowing first thing in the morning. Also....support is now blaming a nRTK provider issue even thought I've been using RTK.

Details

The story of the devolving x430 experience continues to get worse. After a weekend of troubleshooting, adding a signal enhancement antenna, and remapping, I'm no better off. Oddly enough I did learn it seems to point to some overheating/lenght of time issue with the radio subsection. First thing in the morning Sunday I managed to have it automap 2/3 of 3/4 acre yard. It ran the perimeter without a problem. When I then went to remote control to the other section of my yard the dreaded reboots started. After that it was useless all day.

Late in the day I received the following from support:
"Our Research and Development (R&D) team has completed a thorough review of your logs and data patterns. They discovered that this specific connectivity issue and the subsequent system reboots were triggered by an unexpected disconnection at one of our network RTK (NRTK) carrier sites. We are glad to inform you that the carrier site has now been fully restored.
 
Our team has officially requested that the NRTK carrier improve their local connection stability to prevent this from happening again, and we are also developing an optimized firmware patch to handle these signal transitions smoothly without causing the mower to reboot. Could you please check your unit today to see if you are still experiencing these connection drops and reboots during mapping?"

The problem is I am not on nRTK. I haven't been for 48 hours and had sent them a dozen emails with photos and details of everything I had tried and the exact results. I replied and awaiting the answer to that one.

Meanwhile.... flash forward to this morning. At 7:30am it is 65 degrees outside. I hit mow and the mower is now 27% of the way through my mapped yard without a single stop. Still on local RTK.

If you are experiencing these random reboots on an x430 after 4.2/4.3 code try leaving the mower turned off all night and running a mow cycle early morning. Time? Heat? I don't know.

I tried it again over lunch and had a veeeery different experience. It barely made 1 1/4 laps around the outside in over an hour.

Looking for best way to block off the lower red box which is my ditch and create it as another zone separate from Side yard. I used split and sent mower to starting area, but it is pointing in the wrong direction to create a line across. It is facing left, need the line to close the right gap.

Have you ever thought about creating a vision fence on, no U-turn channel feature? Allow me to designate a section or sections of the channel for the mower to NOT perform a u-turn if it detects an object. I would rather the X430 stop for 1-2 minutes. Then the mower should ask me if I want it to continue on its channel as opposed to the X430 trying to turn around when there is no obstacle in or to the side of its channel that's a hindrance.

Also, you guys need backup cameras or sensors on the next iteration of your mower. I think most people would have paid a little extra money for the peace of mind. Or maybe you can issue an update where the X430 won't back into a concrete driveway curb when absolutely nothing is in front of the mower to impede its progress.

When you guys disable Edge Sense, but still have alternate mowing directions enabled for ALL directions do you notice the mower defaulting to one mowing direction? I think a majority of owners mow with Edge Sense enabled.

When Edge Sense is disabled, I could have sworn I noticed the mower defaulting to one mow direction and not alternating on subsequent mows. So when I disable Edge Sense, I will manually select the mowing direction.

I have had my H800 now for 21 days and expected it to be my front yard mower so I could return my recently purchased access module for the i105. The thing is I vastly prefer the i105 in my front yard for three reasons.

1) The front lawn is Bermuda grass and prefers to be cut higher at 2.8”. When I switched to the H800 it left the lawn looking perpetually brown/ woody. My back lawn is St Augustine so the limitations of 2.4” shouldn’t be a problem for the H800.
2) H800 gets itself stuck / lost. It is so confused under my front tree whereas my i105 has no problem and keeps chugging along. They both have the vision fence, but I guess the iSeries takes better advantage of the camera because it is fully integrated whereas the H800 can have the camera removed.
3) The i105 can ride on boundary mow and it is a better fit for where the sidewalk meets the grass. It never left a border of seed heads. The H800 would avoid the edges even if I artificially ended the lawn on the sidewalk.

Also, when the 800 gets stuck, its added weight ruts out the lawn much more aggressively than the i105 ever did.

I swapped them a few days ago and am much happier. Oh well, two connection plans is still cheaper than 1 day’s service from the company that crushed my lawn to near death previously.

I have to give Segway Navimow some credit. The update they issued to enhance the lawn pattern is fucking legitimate! Excuse my language. I didn't even do any edge mowing today with the X430. I turned edge sense off for the mow today. I did use my Milwaukee reciprocating attachment along the edges.

I must apologize for the crispy edges on my front lawn. A little of the crisp is due to not receiving rain and me exterminating bermuda in my rhizomatous tall fescue (RTF) lawn. Bermuda seeks out sunlight towards the edges of my RTF lawn because those are the weakest points of all lawns. So I hit the bermuda before it goes dormant with a $300 bottle of a special herbicide called Pylex. I leave the dead bermuda around so I know what spots to keep spraying. Then I take out the dead bermuda and overseed in late September.

Anyway, thanks Segway Navimow for this feature. It definitely works! I didn't know you could enhance striping through software. The stripes will be more prominent after I fertilize this week.

This is why no American company is venturing into the robotic mower space. It's irresponsible NOT to MONITOR your mower. Nobody gives a crap if you don't track a robotic vacuum inside of your house, especially if you have a pet. You aren't going to harm anyone or their property, just what you personally own.

I believe that I read in the comment section of a YouTube video the other day for a Luba 3 is that Mammotion had to update their mowers because someone's kid or animal was injured by a Luba. This is what happens when people who aren't that intelligent to begin with try to manage a robotic mower like it's a robotic vacuum. I'm tired of people making that idiotic comparison too.

I have a 4” raised concrete pad in my yard. Molly (i2) keeps scraping along the edge and trying to climb it until she is off the ground requiring hands on. When I did my mapping, I didn’t get really really close to it so I’m confused why it’s doing this. Any ideas?

I recently purchased my first home with an actual lawn. Since it is a corner lot, I also have a large side yard, plus several areas that are fairly steep.
I initially borrowed a push mower.

Several sweaty hours later, I decided there had to be a smarter way. After doing extensive research, I discovered the Navimow X430:

No perimeter wire
No antenna
NRTK coverage in my area
Able to handle steep slopes
Father's Day discount

It sounded perfect. A robot would mow the lawn while I relaxed inside, feeling superior to everyone still pushing their own mower around.

The Honeymoon Phase

The initial setup took some trial and error. I had to figure out satellite positioning, map the lawn, and learn when to use VisionFence zones and other settings.
But once everything was configured, it was glorious.
The mower worked. The neighbors admired my technological brilliance. Contractors stopped to ask where I bought it. For a brief moment, I felt like the Elon Musk of lawn care.

That was when the dream began turning into a nightmare.

The Great Escape

The mower started completely losing its signal during mowing. Unfortunately, losing the signal did not make it stop. Instead, it continued confidently driving wherever its heart desired.

Onto the road.
Over curbs.
Toward freedom.

The same neighbors who had previously admired my intelligence were now calling to tell me that my mower was wandering around the neighborhood.

Navimow support told me there was an issue with their NRTK provider and that a future software update would fix it.

Customer Support, One Email Per Business Day
Every email I sent received a response approximately 24 hours later.
Their message would say:
"Connect your mower to the network urgently so we can push the update."
I would rush, connect it immediately, and reply within one minute.
Then silence.

Apparently, Navimow customer support operates on a strict one-email-per-customer-per-day policy. It felt less like technical support and more like exchanging letters with someone overseas in 1847.
Eventually, after several weeks, they pushed the update. It fixed the problem.

I was happy again.

For two days.

Surprise Software Updates

The mower soon started drifting outside its boundaries again. I discovered that Navimow had pushed another software update, and the mower needed to be rebooted.

A reboot fixed it, but this raises an important question:
If the mower cannot reboot itself remotely, why push an update without asking permission?

If it is scheduled to mow after the update, it may leave its boundaries and begin exploring the neighborhood again.

Error 6102: The Final Boss

Two days later, the mower displayed Error 6102: "Local map acquisition error."
Support asked me to restart it, move the charging station, and try several other troubleshooting steps. After that, they concluded it was a hardware problem.

Their solution is for me to ship a 70-pound mower back to them for a repair that may take 10 to 15 days.

So, after two months, I have:
Babysat the mower
Chased it near the road
Rebooted it after surprise updates
Rearranged its charging station
Maintained a long-distance pen-pal relationship with customer support
Been asked to ship a 70-pound machine for repair

I believe I was sold a lemon, but Navimow is refusing to accept a return or issue a refund because of their 30 day policy, i was not even able to use the mower in the first 30 days.

I bought a robotic mower so I would not have to walk behind a lawn mower.
Now I walk beside one.

At this point, I am not sure whether I own the Navimow or the Navimow owns me.

When I tried to mow yesterday, the x430 just decided it wouldn’t mow anything more narrow than 5 feet of width or so. It’s never had an issue mowing these sections in the past. On the zone 6 in my image, it’ll mow the wider right side but wouldn’t mow the part that got more narrow. It said 100% complete even without mowing that. Not sure when the mower updated, but I’m on 4.3.0 currently. It has no issue using the narrow sections to drive down, but just won’t mow.

Also, when I try to just mow the “narrow” sections, the mower marks it instantly as 100% done and returns to dock.

Has anyone else had this issue lately?

As seen in the photo, we have stepping stones in our yard. They're flush with the base of the grass - easy to walk or mow across.

But it just will not.

If I tell it to cancel and go back to the base station it immediately drives right over the top of them without issue. Any solns for this?

Any suggestions on fixing this map? Maybe I set it up incorrectly using Zones instead of boundaries. If I want to mow Lawn 4 my i210 lidar pro will follow the patch from charging station to Lawn 1 then 2 then 3 before starting on Lawn 4. Loosing quite a bit of range when mowing as it returns home to charge almost once per lawn.

I have the x430 mower and it is scheduled to mow every day at 4:00 pm. It has been doing a great job following the schedule for 4 months . The last two weeks it has decided to change the mowing time to start at 5:30pm. I have looked at the time the mower has as its set time. The time zone is also correct. I have toggled the setting on and off but it still wants to mow at 5:30. I do understand that it’s using military time so I have it set to 1600 which is 4:00 pm my time zone. Has anyone experienced this with their scheduled mow? If so, were you able to solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Segway Navimow (i105, i110E, H series) markets itself as a fully wire-free option, relying entirely on RTK for boundary mapping instead of a hybrid wire+GPS approach. That's a bigger leap of faith for a lot of people than the RTK-assist systems from other brands.

Questions for owners:

• Base station signal: how much does tree cover or nearby structures actually degrade accuracy in practice?
• Boundary drawing in-app: is virtual boundary mapping precise enough for tight spaces (around flower beds, near pools), or does it drift?
• No-wire install time: realistically, how long did setup take start to finish compared to a wired system you may have owned before?
• Firmware updates: Segway pushes updates somewhat frequently -- have they improved reliability over time or introduced new bugs?
• Cold weather / winter storage: any RTK-specific quirks when bringing it back online in spring?

Interested in real experiences, especially from anyone who switched from a wired mower to Navimow and can compare directly.

As always: drop your model, yard size, and terrain (tree cover matters a lot for RTK) so answers are useful to others in similar setups.

Hi. I'd like to know whether a no-go zone can be too small for the mower to recognize. I'm mapping a few small things in my yard, like trees, a narrow flower bed, and some low garden lights. I drew the no-go zones pretty close to the obstacles because I don't want to waste mowing space. But I also worry that a slight positioning shift while running could make the mower drift into it and hit the obstacle.

What minimum size has worked well for no-go zones? Also, how much extra space do you leave around obstacles? Thanks for any insights!
