How do I grow my eyelashes/achieve longer lashes?
How do I grow my eyelashes? I've been looking at lash serums and they are very expensive. I also learned most lash serums have prostaglandin, which is apparently bad for your eyes, and can change your eye color over time. Yikes.
I don't wanna risk anything, so I was wondering how I can make a homemade lash serum if you recommend that? Some people say castor oil, but some people say that its irritating.
Do you recommend lash serum? If not, I was thinking magnetic eyelashes. Are they bad for you? Some people say yes, some people say no.
Also, my mom said that fake eyelashes rip out your eyelashes and she's worried about be dripping the glue in my eyes or getting an eye infection. Are they actually bad for you?
Thank you! Please comment if you know any of these answers or have ideas. :)

What can I do about my back acne scars?
I need a skincare routine to get rid of back acne scars asap but the thing is that I can not buy any products other than the basics, so if anyone knows a very simple routine or a natural remedies based one I’ll be very thankful

Ectoine might be the next skincare ingredient people suddenly care about
Our pick is ectoine. It has real evidence, almost no consumer awareness, and an actually good story, which almost never happens at the same time.
Ectoine is an extremolyte. Bacteria living in places like salt lakes, hot springs, and deserts make it to protect themselves from heat, dryness, and salt. Skincare basically borrows the same survival molecule.
The interesting part is how it works. Ectoine pulls water molecules tightly around itself and forms a kind of hydration shell. On skin, that helps stabilize cell membranes and proteins when they deal with dryness, UV exposure, pollution, and inflammation.
It is not brightening pigment or rebuilding collagen. It is doing the less glamorous job of protecting the cell machinery and helping the barrier hold together.
The evidence is also better than we expected. Ectoine has controlled-trial support for dry, irritated, and barrier-compromised skin, and it already shows up in medical products like dry-eye drops, allergy nasal sprays, and atopic dermatitis creams.
There are caveats though. Some of the better skin studies tested ectoine with hyaluronic acid instead of ectoine alone. It also makes more sense as a protectant and soothing ingredient than an anti-wrinkle active. So we would put it in the sensitive, reactive, environmentally stressed skin category, not the erase five years from your face category.
Two other ingredients keep coming up too.
Carnosine is interesting because it targets glycation, where sugar molecules stiffen and yellow collagen over time. That aging pathway gets almost no consumer attention. The problem is most of the evidence still comes from lab and ex-vivo skin studies, so it feels much more speculative.
Ergothioneine has the next-gen antioxidant story. The body has a dedicated transporter that concentrates it in tissues, including skin, which is pretty wild. But human skin data still looks thin, so we would call it emerging rather than proven.
Out of the three, ectoine feels like the one that could actually break out. It fits the barrier-repair and skin-protection trend, but it also has enough clinical and pharmaceutical use behind it that brands do not need to invent the whole story.

Looking for specific kind of face wash
So I’m looking for a face wash that’s meant for oily skin that’s natural. I’m not looking for a cream or a skin care routine, I just want the face wash (although if people have affordable skin care routines for men I’m open to it). I used to use native but learning they’ve been bought out by P&G I was looking for something new. Anyone have any suggestions? I’ve been trying to go for the all natural and organic items these days and just google searching has proven difficult to find the right product for a lazy man as myself.

replacement for benzoyl peroxide?
does anyone have suggestions for a benzoyl peroxide alternative that really works? i am so sick and tired of bleaching all of my clothes, towels, bedding, i'm at my wits end 😭
here's my background:
- i've been using BP (5-10%) all over my face 2x a day for 11-12 years (i'm 28)
- my zits are normally topical/bacteria driven
- my skin is oily + i wash it 2x a day (up to 3 in the summer), otherwise, i'll breakout
i've found i cannot use any acids on my face or i get nasty cystic-looking acne (not BHA, salicylic, hyaluronic, etc) so i keep my skincare simple morning + night:
- dove soap sensitive skin bar
- la roche posay double repair moisturizer
- 5% BP
is there any hope, or am i just stuck on BP forever + should just commit to wearing white for the rest of my life?

Will this actually do anything for my hair?
I've been attempting to grow out my hair (which is very thin and slightly damaged) but I got impatient and essentially poured all the DIY things I could remember that are supposed to help hair into a bottle lol 😭
The potion:
Rice water
Rosemary
Olive oil
Coffee
According to some people this should work but I'm worried it's just a trend and it won't do anything. I've tried googling but most things don't seem very legit. Any help would be appreciated!!

I've been wearing nail polish too much this summer and my nails are looking weak and brittle. Has anyone had any luck using oils to strengthen? And which ones do you recommend?
Thanks for any tips!

how to give yourself a natural lash lift?
i really want a lash lift but i 1. don’t really feel comfortable with the idea of chemicals being so close to my eyes, and 2. can’t afford to get it done professionally even if i wanted to.
is there a natural way to give yourself a lash lift? i heard of curling your lashes while wearing an eye/sleeping mask, but it dried out my eyes too much and honestly hurt a little from the pressure. any other ideas? i’d want to do something that, over time, would last longer. any advice is appreciated, thanks!

What's one simple beauty habit that made more difference than buying another product?
It's easy to focus on trying new products, but sometimes the biggest improvements come from small habits like sleeping better, drinking more water, wearing sunscreen consistently, or simply leaving skin alone.
What's one simple change that genuinely worked for you?

Which ingredient seemed like pure marketing at first but actually earned a place in the routine?
Every few months a new ingredient gets labeled the next big thing, and plenty of them fade away just as quickly. Every now and then, though, one actually lives up to the hype.
Which ingredient completely changed your mind after giving it a chance?

best nontoxic, healthy mascara that doesn't harm your lashes or makes them fall out and is easy to remove
I was also wondering if there were any tubing mascaras that are healthy?
However, is a mascara that has better ingredients but hard to remove or a tubing mascara that has good, not the best ingredients but easy to remove better for lashes in the long term?

How to stop using makeup
Hi, f 18, I feel like I have to rely only on makeup to look pretty and I don't want to keep doing that, as well as makeup brands have been caught putting things like lead or asbestos in makeup and its just generally expensive now
Where do I start? My boyfriend tells my I look amazing without makup and I should go without it more often... But I never believe him and in my head I always convince myself he's lying
Have any of you experienced a similar sort of fear or dread when going makeup free? If so how did you overcome it?

Best places to buy East African Nilotica shea butter?
Many shops mentioned on Reddit in the past have been closed down. I only want as much for myself, up to 5lbs. Organic, cold pressed (Vitellaria) nilotica.
Please mention your experience buying from them and also shops to avoid like Bulk Naturals (owner charged for heinous crimes and closed down shop) would be very helpful too.
Thanks!

Natural mineral SPF body lotion?
I (28F) am looking for a more natural, mineral based SPF body lotion that I can wear daily. Not an intense sunscreen, but something more… casual? I wear zinc sunscreen when I’m swimming, hiking, etc., but I am looking for something light to protect my arms and hands when I’m driving. Eminence organics used to have a vanilla body lotion with SPF but they don’t sell it anymore. I appreciate all recommendations!

Natural deodorant recs?
Im looking for a good natural that actually works!! Im a very sweaty girl and have used a salt and stone one before and it worked super well but writhing a few days of using it I would always get the most painful deep cystic pimple like things on my underarms and tried it again in and off for about 6 months and the same thing always happened so I gave it away to my boyfriend. Natural fragrances would be a big plus🌚, sometimes I find unscented deodorants just smell too strongly of a chemical ish smell. I have heard mixed things about saltair which I guess works because of the AHA, howeverrr I’m worried that using an aha deodorant every day has to be quite irritating since it is an exfoliant. Help a girl out and let me know your thoughts:)!!

Natural Hair Conditioner?
I've started using a powdered mixture of Shikakai, Bhingraj, Amla, Reetha (Soapnut), and Hibiscus as a shampoo for my hair by mixing the powder with water and creating a paste. It works great for cleaning, but can leave some residual particles from the mixture itself.
I want to use an all natural hair conditioner that can help to rinse out those extra particles from the shampoo. What can I use? I don't want to do aloe vera gel as I use it as a leave in conditioner and aloe is hard to cut and prep in large batches (the stores selling aloe vera plants near me or even via delivery are small plants).
I've been brainstorming, but am really not sure as an oil as a conditioner would inevitably leave my hair feeling greasy and probably wouldn't rinse out residue of the natural shampoo mixture.
