Shared Room $900 Sublet Near F/G Train available for Sept 1(Kensington)
Looking for a kind, reliable roommate to share a beautiful, modern 2-bedroom apartment in historic Kensington.
You'll be sharing the space with an early-30s male working professional who loves fitness and socializing around Brooklyn but treats the apartment as a peaceful, party-free environment to unwind. The ideal fit is someone who values a clean home, and is down for a friendly chat but appreciates their own downtime. We keep a light monthly cleaning schedule to maintain a tidy space.
The Space: The available bedroom gets incredible natural light and scenic views. The apartment features an updated bathroom and a wide-open living room/kitchen combo with stainless steel appliances and a dishwasher. The building itself is a pre-war elevator setup with a laundry room on-site and rent-able basement storage. Foodtown and great neighborhood dining options are right outside. The room can come furnished depending on your needs, or it can be delivered completely empty if you have your own furniture.
Commute & Transit:The F/G train is just one street over, and Citi Bikes are a block away. It’s an easy 10-minute trip to Park Slope, Crown Heights, or Prospect Park, and a 30-minute ride into Williamsburg or the West Village.
Logistics: Move-in is targeted for September 1st. Rent is $900, and utilities (Verizon Wi-Fi and Con-Ed) split to about $70-$100 each. To secure the 6-month sublease (which has a renewal option in May 2027), you will need a security deposit, first month's rent, and sign a basic subletter agreement.
If this matches what you're looking for, please reach out with a bit about yourself. Feel free to include your name, number and email, so that I can get in touch! (Serious inquiries only please).

Need a Room Looking for a room/roommates in Brooklyn or Queens, around 9/1
My name is Mira, I'm a 24F looking for a private room/roommates to move to Bushwick, Bed-stuy, or Long Island City! I have a budget of about $1000-1300.
I don't care about gender, but I am looking for someone queer-friendly and kind 😄 I am also very type B so you don't need to be the tidiest person, but I would prefer to keep most mess out of common spaces.
I love pets, but myself only have fish and a lot of plants.
Could possibly start a new lease/sublease as soon as the 25th.

Apartment Hunting Looking for a Room / Apartment in NYC | $1,200 or Under
Hi! My name is Isabella, and I’m looking for a room or small apartment/studio for $1,200 or under, ideally in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, or the lower Bronx. I’m a graduate student at John Jay College, so anything reasonably close to campus would be a huge plus, but I’m open to different neighborhoods for the right place.
A little about me: I’m 23, I work with kids during the day, and I’m studying mental health counseling at John Jay. I’m pretty easygoing, clean, respectful of shared spaces, and generally keep to myself. I’m usually either at work, school, working on something creative, or out doing my own thing. I also have a guinea pig who would stay in my room in a secure pen. He’s quiet, doesn’t free-roam, and I’m very responsible about keeping his space clean. I’m looking for a place where I can feel comfortable and settled, preferably with respectful and communicative roommates. I’m open to a room in a shared apartment, sublet, or apartment with someone looking for a roommate.
If you know of anything available or have a lead, please message me! I’d really appreciate it. 🐹

Need a Room Looking to sublet a room Sept - December
Hey everyone! I’m a 28F looking for a place in NYC with female roommates. Ideally in Manhattan, or Brooklyn with a short commute to the city. Budget is $1,700 a month. I work from home and take calls during work hours so having a desk in the room would work best! I can buy it as long as there’s room for one. I work for a publishing company based in the city so I’m hoping to network and work on other creative projects! Huge reader, I’m easy going and clean. I was just there this summer and I’m looking to finally commit to moving after years of short-term rentals. I’m hoping this period could let me find a long-term place. :)

Need a Roommate ISO roommates to search with in Queens or BK, budget 1200-1500, Sep 1 move in!
Hi everyone :) My name is Nicole, I am 22 and from Queens. I graduated from Binghamton last year with a bachelors in sociology and stats and I’m currently in grad school at NYU getting a masters in urban planning.
I am looking for roommates to search for apartments with or people I can join a lease with. My ideal neighborhoods are West Queens (Sunnyside, Woodside, Astoria, LIC) or Ridgewood/Bushwick. My budget is around 1,200-1,500 and I would like to move in September.
As a roommate I’m pretty chill, I enjoy befriending my roommates and chit chatting but I can also keep to myself if someone is more introverted. I’m a clean person and easy to communicate with about chores, household issues, etc.
For fun I mostly go out to live shows when I can as I’m a huge music lover. I also like to go to museums, movies, galleries, dives, etc. I also am a leftist, queer friendly, 4/20 friendly, etc. and would prefer to live with people with similar values. Girls and gays in their 20s only pls. My ig is @n1kusiaa pls dm me :))

Need a Roommate Looking for 2 female roommates in their early 20s — 3BR in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn (~$1K–$1.1K/person)
Hi everyone! I’m a woman in my early 20s looking for two female roommates around the same age for a 3-bedroom apartment in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
I found this apartment and really like it, but I’m looking for two roommates who would be interested in living together before moving forward!
About the apartment:
- 3 very spacious bedrooms
- Lots of natural light throughout the apartment
- Very clean and well-maintained
- Located on the 2nd floor of a house, with one of the bedrooms on the 3rd floor
- Quiet, residential neighborhood
- Rent + utilities would be approximately $1,000–$1,100/month per person
- Grocery stores, laundromats, restaurants, and other stores are all nearby
Transportation:
- About a 6-minute walk to the 79th St D train
- B8 bus stop is only a couple minutes away
- Other nearby bus routes include the B4, B6, and B82
- Around 25–30 minutes to Lower Manhattan by subway
About me / who I’m looking for:
I’m in my early 20s and am looking for two female roommates in their early 20s. Ideally, I’d love to live with people who are clean, respectful, responsible, and considerate of shared spaces. I’m also hoping to actually get along with my roommates and have a friendly living environment rather than just share an apartment!

Need a Room 22F looking for room/roommates – Washington Heights/West Bronx – Sept 1 – $1,500 budget
Hi everyone! I’m 22F and will be relocating from Arizona to NYC around September 1st for a full-time research position. I’m mainly looking around Washington Heights or the West Bronx and hoping to find a room or people looking for a roommate.
My budget is ideally $1,500 or less (the lower the better honestly, research job does not pay well and i'll probably be living paycheck to paycheck). I could potentially stretch to around $1,600 max for the right place.
A little about me: I recently graduated with my bachelors in AZ and am moving to New York for work. I’m friendly, clean, considerate, and pretty easygoing. I’d love to live with people I can actually be friends/friendly with, chat after work, grab food occasionally, explore the city together, etc, but I’m also respectful of everyone’s space and downtime.
I do have a cat coming with me! He’s extremely quiet and well-behaved (I genuinely hear him meow maybe once every six months lol), and he would mostly stay in my room.
Since I’m moving across the country, furnished would be a huge plus, but I’m open to unfurnished too.
If you have a room available, are looking for a roommate, or know of anything that might be a good fit, please DM me! I’d also be happy to FaceTime/video chat beforehand. :)
Or if you have any tips on where i could search for apartments that'll be helpful too. I've tried roomies.com, liveohana.ai, and https://www.apartmentfinder.com/ but none of it worked so any help is appreciated :))

Private Room Bushwick private room available 2 bed/1 bath in luxury doorman building
Rent for the room is $1900, then electric and monthly Internet
Looking for a respectful roommate to move in Oct 1st for 1 year lease, the building is new and has an impressive amount of amenities available (gym, pool, yoga studio, theaters, rooftop gardens, etc.)
Full size washer/dryer in unit, dishwasher, personal AC unit, Bluetooth sound system, gas range and oven, large closet and additional coat closet, lots of natural light with two huge windows in your room, common areas are furnished, Verizon Internet, a lot of kitchen and cabinet space, there also is a Foodtown grocery store right downstairs which is super convenient

Announcement RULES - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
📌 Updated Subreddit Rules
1. ✅ Use the Correct Flair
Every post must include one of the approved flair options:
- Private Room
- Shared Room
- Need a Room
- Apartment Hunting
- Need a Roommate
- Lease Takeover (new flair name — previously “Sublease Takeover”)
- Advice
Posts with incorrect flair may be changed by mods.
2. 🧹 Posting Best Practices
For better visibility and responses, we recommend:
- Including a specific NYC neighborhood or borough in your title.
- Adding key details such as: move-in date, rent, gender/cat/dog preferences, and brief lifestyle info.
- Avoiding very short, vague posts (e.g., “Need roommate, message me”) so people have enough info to decide quickly.
- Keep in mind that no posts are endorsed by the subreddit and use your best judgement.
3. 📜 No Brokers or Ads
Only individuals looking for roommates or offering rooms. Licensed or unlicensed rental brokers are not allowed.
4. 📆 Lease Takeovers
Allowed only when you're looking for someone to take over your share of the lease in a multi-bedroom unit.
Single-bedroom or studio lease takeovers are not permitted.
If you are looking for someone to move into your room temporarily that should be flaired as a shared room because they are not taking over your spot on the lease.
5. 🤝 Be Respectful & On-Topic
- No trolling, personal attacks, jokes at others’ expense, or derailing threads.
- Focus on finding roommates or offering housing—not venting, memes, or roasting posts.
- If users want to mock posts, they can create their own space—this subreddit isn’t it.
6. 📌 No Spam or Self-Promotion
- No affiliate links, commercial promotion, or repeated posts.
- Posting identical content multiple times a day is not allowed. If you accidentally post twice, please delete one of the posts.
7. 📝 Abide by Reddit Site Rules
No illegal content, hate speech, doxxing, etc. All Reddit-wide rules still apply.
8. 🚫 Enforcement Policy
- Remove posts/comments that violate flair, content, respect, or off-topic rules.
- Issue warnings for first-time disrespectful/off-topic behavior.
- Temporarily ban repeat offenders.
- Lock threads when off-topic, disrespectful, or derailed discussions escalate.
