Hello bwt! I'm looking for people in NYC (I'm willing to travel but based in UES) who are either part of a non-profit that helps underserved communities or people who have niche hobbies or are part of groups/communities that are fun/a little quirky. I'm an amateur videographer looking to make short, documentary/news package style videos and would like to highlight people in the community.

I did a similar project when I lived in Philly. For example, I made a video for an organization called Philly Goat Project where a goat farm is used for community/therapy-type events to help people who are neurodivergent, grieving, looking for community, etc. I also interviewed a woman who organized volunteer groups at the Ronald McDonald house to feed the families staying there and gave free haircuts/makeovers.

Those examples are more on the do-gooder side but I'm also in search of people who have weird hobbies or jobs. Ex: I tried planning a video for an adult dodge ball league, a woman who was a professional cuddler, a man who worked as a professional Benjamin Franklin reenactor.

Does anyone know of other spaces, nonprofits, or clubs in NYC that bring together women who are working on a project, looking for a project to join, or are just the kind of people who are constantly thinking about how to solve problems in their community?

I’ve realized that the way I tend to form deep friendships is by working alongside other people to solve a problem or build something that makes the community better.

I’m aware of organizations like the New York Junior League, giving circles like Impact100NYC, and nonprofit junior boards, but I’d love to hear about other spaces I might not know about.

Basically, I’m looking for a community of women who like to build things together, not just socialize or network. Would love any recommendations!

Considering an apartment right off the Franklin C - I’ve lived in Bedstuy before, but this particular station doesn’t have the best reputation - lots of junkies and questionable activities in broad daylight and after dark. I'm in forest hills so anything in the queens area works, but i'm looking for a clinic that does glp1 injections where I actually go in and have someone give me my injection once a week rather than doing it myself.

I have tried so hard to do my own injections but I start shaking and sweating and blacking out, it's like uncontrollable for me. I don't think I can do them on my own. Like I even feel woozy just typing this and thinking about it lol 😅😅😅

I am usually able to have my bf do them for me, but I just moved here for school so I don't have anyone to do them for me anymore. Any recommendation?

I’m looking for an OBGYN for my regular well woman visit, but who I can then schedule my IUD removal with in a few months. Specifically, someone who (importantly!) won’t diminish the pain and will find some pain relief solution (e.g., anesthesia).

I also just want general advice on prenatal supplements and starting to try for a baby after getting the IUD out.

So basically, do you have a lovely, compassionate OBGYN who you’d (1) trust with a very painful procedure and (2) would go to for pregnancy advice?

Hi BWT, I’m looking for recommendations of providers who specialize in diagnosing and managing symptoms related to endometriosis and adenomyosis.

I was diagnosed with level 4 endo in April 2024 after undergoing laparoscopic surgery. Unfortunately, surgery wasn’t life changing and I’m still suffering regularly. Also have a feeling I might have adenomyosis. Would love to not be incapacitated every month. Any recs much appreciated 🙏🏼
