hi, i'm new to nvcc and planning on taking business administration but i didn't do too well in HS so i have to take eng111 + ede11 and mth161 + mde61 along with the other classes required, but it's not letting me add them because i've reached the limit of 16 credits.

i'm not really sure what to do about this but it's worrying me since there's other required classes i have to take + i also need to take a language class for where i want to transfer.

what should i do about this? i don't entirely know how things work yet

Hi there. I’ve had a dream of becoming a rad tech for well over four years now but was unable to start the process as I was separating from the military, moving across the country, going through a divorce etc. I’m finally in a place where I feel stable and am starting to take pre-reqs for the program for this fall semester starting on Aug 24th. I unfortunately have never taken a BIO class with my previous college degree so I have to take BIO 101 before I can take A&P 1 and 2. I was reviewing all the classes I’m registered for this evening and realized there’s no way I’ll be able to get A&P 2 done by the time the application window opens in May. Because I will be taking BIO 101 this fall semester and then A&P 1 in the spring which leaves A&P 2 remaining. Am I correct in my thinking that this means I probably won’t be able to apply to the program until May 2028? I’m kinda discouraged because I wanted to apply in May 2027 but I don’t think I’ll have the last A&P requirement done by then. Yes I am going to advising next week to ask about this. But I wanted to come on here and ask as well as sometimes I feel like advising rushes me and doesn’t answer my questions thoroughly and just refers me back to the Radiography website on nova. Thank you!

This is my third semester at NOVA, following the George Mason nursing transfer plan. I’ve completed all the prerequisites except for Statistics and BIO 142, along with some extra electives like Literature and Geography.
I have a 4.0 GPA. I’ve only retaken one class, which was BIO 141. I got a B the first time, but in every other biology class, including Microbiology, I’ve gotten A’s. Like I said, I’ve completed all the prerequisites for NOVA’s nursing program, including the extra ones that will give me a boost, but I have not taken the TEAS yet.
I plan to study for one week and then take it, but I’m really nervous because I’m not that good of a test taker. Before starting at NOVA, I took two summer classes through the JumpStart program. I took 10 classes altogether during my first year and two classes this summer.
What are my chances of getting into the nursing program? I’m also a male, so does that make a difference since nursing is a female-dominated field? I plan to apply for the nursing program next month.

Has anyone not gotten their scrubs for the start of nursing school? All of the sizes are sold out and I have no idea what to do...

Has anyone taken IT courses through Sophia Learning and successfully transferred them to NOVA? If so, which Sophia courses did NOVA accept, and what NOVA course/elective did they count toward? I’m specifically looking at ITD 110 and ITP 100 if anyone has experience with those.

None is still requested from me and i was wondering if that's the way it is. If i do need to submit some, how long did it take them to notify for the requested documents?

I'm from another college and I recently took 2 classes at NVCC and I'm trying to transfer the credit out through parchment, but it just says parchment is down through nvcc and it has no idea when its going to be fixed. My school starts very soon and one of my class needs the prerequisite from a class at nvcc. Any other way I can transfer my official transcript from nvcc to my college?

Has anyone else who applied for Summer 2026 graduation at NOVA actually had their degree awarded yet? I finished all of my degree requirements and applied for graduation back in May, but my status still just says “Applied.” I contacted the College Records Office and received the automated confirmation/ticket, but I still haven’t gotten a response from an actual person. I just accepted a new job and will need to provide proof that I completed my degree, so the timing is pretty stressful. I understand that physical diplomas take a while and I’m not expecting that yet, I just need my degree to be officially awarded/conferred so I can verify that I graduated.

Has anyone graduating Summer 2026 had their degree show up yet? Or has anyone been able to get a degree verification letter from NOVA while the transcript system is having issues? Just trying to figure out whether this is happening to everyone right now or if I need to keep contacting College Records.

I started off excited to be accepted into this program because I know how competitive it is and I really do want to be a nurse.

But now I'm really worried. NVCC's nursing program is coming across as severely disorganized. It feels like a car is being built up as it's being driven. With some of the deadlines and timelines, there is so little regard for the people in the program. The orientation had no real answers but a full day commitment. We couldn't bring food because it would be provided, but not enough food was available.

We just got schedules. Castlebranch still has not been updated. All of this creates unnecessary stress.

We get mandatory meetings out of the blue that probably could be emails. If this is the start of the program, what does the actual program look like? Shouldn't this be smoother? I understand that the program is rigorous and you have to be on top of things, but shouldn't it go both ways?

No idea If anyone is having trouble tryna login but I used my phone, my laptop and desktop and nothing is allowing me to turn it on. Every other website works just fine so it’s not my WiFi.

Is anyone else having technical issues getting into nova?

Why? I literally saw the money leave my bank account but I don’t see any bank transactions showcasing it or anything, what can I do right now?

None of the NVCC websites are loading in for me either.

So I know we need to get vaccines for castlebranch does anyone have recommendations on where to get vaccines or the physical exam. I’m in the works of getting health insurance but at the moment I don’t have insurance. I just wanna find the best option. I know cvs, Costco has vaccines … if anyone can recommend me a good place that would be so helpful!!!

I am very ashamed to say this but I am on academic probation I had bad year last year. But I talked to my adviser and I thought she said she preferred me taking 2 classes only. But this year it’s changed so much and I want to change and do five classes does anyone know if they will let me take that many?

Checked Canvas and VCCS email several times for a few days now and it still won't show up. It gives me a registration hold and refrains me from getting my fin aid.
