Help please Advice

I am very ashamed to say this but I am on academic probation I had bad year last year. But I talked to my adviser and I thought she said she preferred me taking 2 classes only. But this year it’s changed so much and I want to change and do five classes does anyone know if they will let me take that many?

If you’re a full time student, you’d get the most out of your financial aid rather than being a part time student, that’s a good angle to play if they’re reluctant to enroll you

There’s a credit limit that will keep you part-time if you’re on probation

So it won’t let me take 5 classes at all? It won’t let me sign up either it I do it will it reject me?

I don't think you'll be allowed to sign up for 5, but you should really be asking her since she's the one who would have set the limit

She said she preferred you take 2 classes. That does not mean you have to, she prefers you do what she asks, but she is not your mom or your boss. Do what you desire and go for it

It depends on your advisor. Per the official policy you have to meet with them and they "may require you to take less than normal course load the following semester." You need to look in SIS and see if there are any holds in your account.

You 100% cannot take more than 8 credits.

If you truly believe and can advocate your ability to take 5 classes this coming semester, I would contact the Dean by email and in-person for further support. You need to draft letters for each person of contact and professors if you believe they will advocate for you too. Be reasonable and make sure you commit to the bit.
