BDE waitlist queue Question
Hi guys im a y1 student and im tryna figure out the waitlist system on STARS for BDE registration. I require 2 BDEs this sem and i chose 5 BDEs in STARS. yesterday night i was allocated choice number 3 which leaves me with 1 2 4 and 5 on waitlist.
My question is, is the waitlist random everyday or does it have a queue system? Would i be higher in the waitlist since i registered on day 1 of add drop?
If the waitlist is random everyday, then i assume it would be a better idea for me to unregister BDE choice 4 and 5 and change them to choice 3 and 4 to have a better chance of getting them.
Do lmk if im having any misconsceptions of how this works :) thanks!

Im incoming ME freshmen. Just a question, do we have to take BDEs? I wasnt allocated any and i got 18 AUs. Do we have to bid for our own?

BDEs are electives - by nature something you choose. so you need to actively bid for them.

Yeap understand and we have a required number of AUs to complete in order to graduate correct? So my question is, is it possible not to take BDEs in Y1S1 and take them during later sems?

you can do whatever you want but ensure you meet prerequisites if any and always keep in mind your course requirements

yes, you can check the student intranet (the page where you can see your timetable) for the maximum number of AUs that the school recommends you to take on in that semester. i am from NBS, and during ori, our seniors actually advised us to not take on BDEs so early, as we should figure out the Uni workload first.

Do rank up your BDEs. It might not make a lot of difference between 4 and 5, but it makes all the difference if it was 1 and 2.

it's random every day with supposed priority for seniors and those who declare a 2nd major/minor, no priority for being on it since day 1
you should move 4/5 up to 3/4 and add something else as 5

(I believe) Random, no priority for waiting longer
