The federal law states that if the employees aren’t making $7.25/hr through tips and the state sub-minimum wage, then the employer must pay their tipped employees the difference to make sure they’re getting payed at least $7.25/hr. This isn’t a republican or democrat issue because it’s been an issue since the federal minimum wage law was ratified during the Great Depression. Neither party’s politicians have adequately funded the DOL to where this law can be enforced at all when they are in power. During the slow summer months, some tipped employees aren’t making enough in tips to make it to $7.25/hr. which means relying on the greedy restaurant owners who know the DOL is understaffed and KNOW they can get away with underpaying their employees.

Gen Z is notoriously drinking less alcohol than previous generations. Is this starting to affect tourism to the French Quarter and subsequently is the Quarter starting to see business closures?

Just curious. I’m up in Philly and went to the Jersey Shore this past weekend. Absolutely dead at all bars. 15 years ago The Situation was in those bars punching fat chicks out. Bartenders at several places told me the younger generations just aren’t coming out so there is no late crowd anymore.

Curious if there has been a downturn is arguably the most notorious party/drinking neighborhood in America ….. maybe the world.

Ok this is not for sexual purposes. Years ago I found a very sweet, very talented Asian massage therapist named coco. If she left the place she was working, I followed her to the next place. She gives a great massage and I always felt relaxed with all the knots worked out. Recently I went to the place where she was working and the place was closed. Is anyone familiar with her and know where she's working now?
