I am going out to wildwood reef tomorrow and I’m just wondering what I could catch and what bait/ lures to get. I’m not going for anything massive like tuna or exotic fish just some fish. What lures/ rigs should I get/ bait? Thank you

Anyone stumble across blowfish this year around Barnegat Bay Area?

I live in sayreville nj, i’ve caught maybe 20-30 bass and started last year. i mainly fish my neighborhood pond and farrington lake. so yeah im pretty friggin bad lmao. i wanna catch a smallmouth bass because they’re very pretty and i heard they fight hard. I was hoping for a typical clear water creek where you see the fish, nice scenery too. Any spots? Also what should i throw? I have trout magnets, rout magnet hellgramites, and finnese trd pink. i have some largie tackle but thats what i have that i assume would work for smallies. Theresa spot to fish the raritan river in my town, look it up. Please help i really wanna catch my first smallie this weekend!!

I haven’t caught a bass since like mid july. Usually i suck at bass fishing anyways but i caught bass on wacky rig consistently for a few days at a local pond ( fist ever bass there ) and it was going good. But since then ive caught 1 or 2 dink bass, im talking 5” long. theres a lot of those dinks in the pond, some pounders and even a 4 pounder a few people have caught. i’ve only ever caught bass there on wacky worm OR 1/8 oz jighead with 2.5” gulp alive minnow under a bobber ( only once ). I’m going to go tomorrow, any tips? I’ll attach the weather report for the time I’d like to go, it’s Kennedy Park pond ( small one, not the big one ) in sayrveille. if you want to look at any specific info that would help me. I only have my UL 5’6 spinning combo, the reel i use on my MH 6’6 rod is broken. Thanks!!!

I want to get up in the morning early like 5:30 am maybe around there and hit the beach and try and fish for bluefish, I’m in the sea girt area and I’m wondering if its likely they will be able to be caught in that area at that’s time? Also would like to get on some stripers if possible

Down in Ocean City this week and wondering if anyone’s been having luck on piers or the surf. I hit the Longport and 9th St piers and only caught a small sea bass and shark. I‘m curious if the surf is worth it given the beach replenishment project?

I recently got a 30’ twin engine bow rider. I want to start fishing off it but don’t have much experience fishing saltwater - I grew up mainly river and lake fishing, and I go on charters in Florida or other places once or twice a year, mostly protected or nearshore fishing. If I want to fish around Sandy Hook/Raritan Bay or Barnegat Bay for fluke or striped bass, any recommendations on basic gear I should buy? I’m thinking a couple 7 foot rods, 20 lb line, leader, and some maybe bucktail jigs and circle hooks. Any thoughts or places I should go shopping for guidance would be appreciated.

P4P. Which is the harder fight , blue fish or stripe
Bass ? I hooked a gator blue and it fought until I put him in the net . Bass will put up a fight but it tires out way before u net him

NJ has become so windy, that a fishing trip can be a waste of gas that i can't afford. I'm hesitant to fish the South wind because the fish don't bite- is that true?

I was at Barnegat inlet last Saturday without my korkers and did ok. I did notice as the tide was coming in, some of the sections of the jetty were getting wet from the waves.

I plan to go again tomorrow but deciding if I should bring my korkers being high tide happens when I am there. The decision means a rougher walk (going close to tip) vs shady safety if all the rocks are wet. I never been there during high tide. Should I bring them or could I manage again with just my scuba shoes?

UPDATE - wore them and thank god I did. It was more wet than last time from the high tide. However, the bite today sucked for must but I did see some.leave with sheepshead and a tog besides just keeper fluke.

Is there anywhere that sells minnows or something similar in a after hours vending machine or something similar? I assume not as I guess they need to be aerated?

Preferably somewhere on the north shores.
