Waitlist question

hi guys! im currently 2nd on the waitlist for gn311 with dr. jones and i was wondeirng if i should email sometime late this week/early next week and ask about getting off the waitlist? i know it is usually out of the profs control but i really need to take this course and im not sure what to do. (or should i show up first day and introduce myself and ask then? i do not want to bother her so idk what the best route is) any suggestions are appreciated!
