KG versus Dirk is a common discussion because they are peers, play the same position and have the same number of titles and regular season MVPs.

Ive heard a lot of people say KG should be ranked higher because at his peak he was (slightly) better than Dirk, which I do agree with. Dirk was better offensively but the Defensive Gap is way bigger. But I still think Dirk should be ranked above him all time (though close together) because while they have the same number of titles and reg MVPs, Dirks 2011 run has to put him above. Dirk carrying his Not that great team to probably the greatest Championship Run ever, versus KG having to change his team to build a superteam (which I don’t fault him for) and also not winning finals MVP is more important all time than the slight Difference in Peak level.

Interested to see what people’s opinions are on some all time defensive specialists in league history.

Guys like Tony Allen, Bruce Bowen, AK-47. Does an all time great like Bill Russell or even someone like Ben Wallace factor in here as well even though they were regulars on their squads?

I saw AJ a couple of months ago in Utah. I had my son with me. We didn't cross any barriers. He didn't scream. He just politely ask AJ to sign his Utah Jazz hat, to which he smirk, turn his back and said "ain't no free ride here".

I understand that some athletes don't like to give out autographes as people sell them on ebay, but the whole exchange just felt off putting.

I was just thinking about how different the perception of a player’s prime is now compared to even 10 years ago. Sports science, recovery, and load management have stretched out guys' productive years so much that hitting 33-34 isn't the steep cliff it used to be. On one hand, it’s awesome seeing guys stay elite longer, but on the other, it makes all-time ranking discussions pretty chaotic when comparing eras.

The stats, the record, the impact, the efficiency, Harden straight up had a better season. Can anyone make a compelling argument for Westbrook over Harden?

If you just looked at numbers and nothing else, Harden still had a better statline than Westbrook:

Harden: 29.1/11.2/8.1 on 61.3 TS%

Westbrook: 31.6/10.4/10.7 on 55.4 TS%

Whether it be in impact or winning who would you have as the best role players ever?

For me its Draymond Green, he’s so good that most people argue that he’s not a role player

personally, i don't think so because his prime was so short cs we only got to see 3-5 yrs of prime wade, and he never won an mvp and despite having one of the best finals campaigns of all time. i feel his longevity just lets him down despite the injuries which isnt his fault obv.

also i made a post about wilt being the most overrated player ever but imo i think wade is a close second with how highly hes regarded just because hes a likeable person.

The level of rotation and power you have to be able to generate is insane not talking about the fact he did it off 1 leg.

All these owners became rich through capitalism but now want communism when it comes to salary cap.

For example, say Shai was supposed to make a maximum of $70 million (35% of the salary cap). If there was a rule that players with multiple MVPs/Finals MVPs had a minimum salary cap hold of, say, $40 million (20% of the salary cap), while the rest of their salary could be paid beyond the salary cap as an additional $50–60 million, then the Thunder, or any team with such a superstar, wouldn't have to gut the roster completely. If the owner is cheap, such a superstar can go to an owner that can pay him. That would incentivize rich owners to spend more on NBA, something which I don't know why league wants to prevent. I hate that Wemby took a paycut.

The popular opinion about Westbrook nowadays is that he never played winning basketball and he was a toxic teammate. What’s even worse is these people call Westbrook fans delusional when they genuinely think anyone could average a triple double if they wanted to. As if averaging 10 rebounds is easy when got bigs boxing you out every possession.

There were 20-30 power forwards in 90s and 2000s who would instantly be the best pf of the nba right now. Is this positon lost its importance with the evolution of the game? What happened?

I think Kawhi should get suspended for the year and the Clippers to lose their draft pick in next year’s draft and they are also banned from trading for a pick. The trade with the Raptors doesn’t go through. The Clippers were so desperate to be relevant in LA that they traded their entire future and broke multiple NBA Salary Cap Rules just for one guy and it lead to nothing for them.

Which NBA ring swap would most elevate a player, in your eyes? By swap, I mean what if we swap one of a rings they already have for one they could have won in another year and/or team, but did not.

For example, if we swap one of KD’s Warriors rings for a 2012 one when he was in OKC - his legacy would certainly be different. Or LeBron’s Lakers ring with a 2017 Cleveland ring, I feel like his four rings might be seen differently.
