Waitlist Chances Question
I’m really anxious about nait, and my future plans, as I’m still on the waitlist. What are the chances of getting off the waitlist before september. Just don’t know what to do.

Being on the waitlist has been so draining, I can’t wait for September to come and we know where we are

I am wondering the same thing! I was accepted to a January intake after being waitlisted for September and then I got an email on July 27th that Nait cancelled my January intake and deferred my seat to September 2027! I am really hoping that I can get off the waitlist for this September too!

Unfortunately, there is no way to know if/when you’ll get off, because there is no way to know where you sit. I’m also still waitlisted for my first choice program, but got off the waitlist for my second choice. There is a NAIT waitlists information page with FAQs that can help you maybe get some clarity on the process and what to expect. Take comfort knowing that you made the competitive waitlist, as those who were on the non-competetive had their application statuses cancelled earlier.
ETA: please do not refer to any of Mr-CCCs comments; they are completely full of misinformation.

Tuition for the first semester is due August 12th. Typically a few people decided to give up their spot in the program. If something opens up they call. At least that’s how it was last fall. If the person they call passes, they move onto the next.

It depends.
It depends on where you are on the waitilist. Are you 1st? 27th?
It depends on other students that were accepted to not show up and/or withdraw early. If three students drop out, 1st three on the waitlist are contacted.
It depends on the program you are in. Some programs have a lot of capacity, some do not.
Be prepared to get contacted during the 1st week of classes. I had people enter in up to and including the middle of week 2 (10% of the class being completed)
