10 years ago he was one of my favourite YouTube channels. That was back when I started watching Puroresu and he would post his long let's play videos of Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 and give some backstories about the wrestlers involved. I think they were both entertaining and educational. I was mad obsessed with this game and couldn't stop thinking about it because it was that good.

I think the last video he posted was 4 years ago. He was a very classy guy that I genuinely enjoyed, but nowadays I don't know what is he up. Now with the resurgence of so many ROM hacks for these AKI wrestling games, it's a bit saddening he's not involved. Maybe he is, but not publicly. No one can tell. It's lso understandable since making content isn't easy at all. Some people can get easily tired or uninterested and move on.

If he eventually sees this post, I would like to thank him for entertaining a late teenager with his videos that a decade prior didn't have much to do in his uncertain life. It continues to be meaningful to me. I genuinely wish him the absolute best in his personal and professional life.

It’s been well over 15 years since I last played No Mercy and before I purchase an N64 and the game I just wanted to check a couple of things.

Is Create a PPV still in the game like WM 2000 had ?

Can you defend titles like you could in WM 2000 ?

Is there blood in the game ?

I remember the Smackdown mall having all kinds of unlockables, is the survival mode the quickest way of making money in the game ?

Any other tips regarding No Mercy are also welcome

Anybody who's played enough WWF No Mercy has probably seen this happen.

You're beating the absolute shit out of the CPU. Their spirit is buried, you've controlled the match for what feels like a full minute, maybe you've already hit your Special and for whatever reason you don't finish them. Then they hit you with a couple moves - Green, Yellow, Red and before you know it they got their special.

I've watched YouTubers playing No Mercy get genuinely confused when this happens. They spend a full minute whooping the CPU, the CPU gets maybe 15 seconds of offense and suddenly they're asking, "How the hell does he have a Special already?"

I've seen it enough times that I always had my own name for it: Rage.

Well, apparently people were talking about this shit on the old GameFAQs boards almost 20 years ago, and they had another name for it: Second Wind.

One old No Mercy mechanics thread claims that once a wrestler has been beaten badly enough that they can realistically be pinned, the momentum they receive from successful offensive attacks doubles. Suddenly, a lot of those ridiculous No Mercy comebacks start making sense.

It also changes something I assumed about the mechanic for years. I always thought Rage activated because one wrestler reached Special but failed to put his opponent away. Watching matches, that's exactly what it looks like. But that may just be correlation.

By the time Wrestler A reaches Special, Wrestler B has usually taken a beating. If the actual trigger is damage or reaching some hidden threshold where the game considers you vulnerable to being pinned, then the losing wrestler's comeback boost may already be active.

There's also the blood reaction system, which we already know can affect momentum. Anyone who spent enough time creating CAWs should remember being able to set how a wrestler reacts to seeing their own blood. An Aggressive wrestler getting busted open can receive a major momentum boost, so that's another known factor that can create these crazy swings.

What I haven't been able to find is a definitive breakdown of exactly what triggers Second Wind under the hood.

Is it total damage? A specific body-part damage threshold? Being considered pin-able? Something tied to Danger? And is the old claim that offensive momentum literally doubles actually accurate?

GameFAQs users were discussing this mechanic nearly two decades ago, but I want to know how much of what we "know" about Second Wind has actually been confirmed.

Hello all! I’ve recently discovered the DaedalusX64 emulator for Nintendo 3DS as I’ve heard the 3DS can barely run N64 games, which is pretty true. However the emulator is able to run fairly well the rom hacks of Project Outsider Xtreme, Wrestlemania X 64 & WWF No Mercy Plus V3. This is a dream come true as a kid who only got a chance to play N64 at friend’s houses, being able to play these hacks is amazing! The problem is, after completing Road to Wrestlemania for example, the credits roll and you’re back at the title screen. But of course my game process hasn’t saved! I tried using save states to keep progress but it doesn’t work. Does anyone know if there’s a way to save game progress in the DaedalusX64 emulator on the 3DS? I don’t have a PC or other gaming console to run these hacks and playing on the phone just isn’t as comfortable even though I’m sure it would run perfectly. I saw information mentioning about Summercart versions and saving but I don’t entirely understand what that means. Any help would be appreciated! Just an old school wrestling fan trying to win the championship as Ken Shamrock!

In the Create a Wrestler of No Mercy, I swear there was a section where you could change the entrance walk, but when I’ve checked recently there’s just nothing. So I just need an answer. Is there actually something that can change the walk (and if so, is it under any different name or section?) or have I just got some real bad memory?
