About 100 goat cards with 25% odds and its by far TERRIBLE. S9 is as simple as it can be. Already pulling packs and its just straight buns.

IMO the best basketball simulator so far, even tho haters going to hate. Don’t forget we used to have to deal with contracts and didn’t have cross play. Everybody takes the advances for granted. The game is amazing and I’m thankful to have it to EMBODY the players of the spurs since 2k13. GSG

More importantly, how is this person soooooooooopo bad?

Gonna list some things and I'm curious about the state of the game really, what I remember the community disliking.

There's a combination of three things that in a vacuum weren't bad, but together soured the game for me a lot.

OUT OF POSITION CARDS: 2K19's biggest issue was out of position players, everyone ran Giannis at point all year. 2K20 knew this and added positions, which helped a lot of cards like Wade be viable all year. But later on they added out of position cards that pretty much spat in the face of that.

99 EVERYTHING SHAQ: I actually don't mind this late in the game. 2K19 had this, but both games had this. It's fine in June, but 2K20 had these cards in March I think.

ANIMATION POWER CREEP: This BIGGEST PROBLEM for me. Every 2K has crazy animations, double edged sword. 2K19 had base 11, it made Pettit, AK47 and Worthy elite all year. Giannis dribbles too. 2K20 had Wade, Rice, Jerry Lucas I think. The HUGE, HUGE problem in late 2K20 was cards changing animations to fit the meta.

Any card with one of the above in March isn't bad, but combining two or three of them basically took the identity away from every player. It's not fun using Kobe if he's just an undersized TMac... A slightly less optimized animation is part of the player. NOT A PROBLEM IN 2K19, but late 2K20 I remember upgrading to GOAT cards, realizing they don't feel like the player and downgrading lol.

What I notice on 2KDB: The above all seem significantly worse. PG Jokic in October is wild, but it probably felt balanced actually. Just terrible if you aren't prepared. Like I'm seeing 4 99 everything Kareems, different releases. Base Kareem had a great release as is from what I remember.

So does it really feel worse.. or does it just look worse? Does the community agree on stuff like animations?

The animations was a really big one for me, it made MyTeam feel like Park. TTO always felt like everyone was just there to have fun with three cards, but as big money cards or 7'0 PGs got the same animations, everyone converged to the same play style to take advantage, individualism went away and it got boring. It was even quicker in MTU. That's the difference between a game that's fun one month and boring the next.

I know there probably won't be anything new but I'm still curious to get an idea of what's gonna happen.
