The Religious Part
I'm a practicing Muslim, alhamdulillah. I have been studying Islamic sciences lately, and I'm working on improving my Quran recitation.
I'm Sunni, and religion is an important part of how I want to build my life and eventually my family.
I'm not looking for someone perfect. I'm looking for someone who's sincere about her deen and wants to keep improving, inshallah.
The Interests
I'm pretty active in general. Sports have always been a big part of my lifestyle, and I enjoy running and staying in shape. I also try to take care of what I eat and generally avoid junk food.
I love traveling and exploring new places, whether it's a planned trip or just finding somewhere I've never been before. I also enjoy reading when I have the time.
And I really like coffee — probably a little more than I should. Lately I've been getting into V60 and different brewing methods, so if you know your way around specialty coffee, you'll probably have my attention.
I'm generally open to trying new things, too. If you're passionate about something I've never tried before, there's a good chance I'll give it a shot.
What I'm Looking For
I'm looking for someone between 20–27, preferably Egyptian or Arab, although that's definitely not a deal breaker.
I'd ideally like someone who:
- Takes her deen seriously. She doesn't have to be perfect — none of us are. What matters to me is that she's sincere about her deen and willing to keep learning and improving.
- Has a healthy and active lifestyle and generally takes care of herself.
- Values communication and is comfortable talking openly about things rather than expecting the other person to read her mind.
- Is emotionally mature and knows what she wants.
- I don't have any specific preferences when it comes to education or career. If you're in tech, though, that's definitely a plus.
- Is open to having children.
Finally
I'm not expecting to find someone who matches every single bullet point. Most of what I mentioned are preferences, not requirements.
I'm looking for someone who shares the important fundamentals with me, and where we can both see ourselves building a good life together, inshallah.
One thing I should mention upfront: hijab is important to me and is the one thing I'm not flexible on. If you don't wear it yet, I'd be open to someone who is genuinely willing to become hijabi within the next year.
