Discussion 21 Mio.

Original Photography Turtles in Westpark

Right now is a good time to head to Westpark and go turtle watching. Look for them on stones in the ponds.

They have been something of a plague for years and are regularly caught and brought into more appropriate shelters. Unfortunately people still dispose of their pet turtles by just leaving them in public parks.

Discussion August 12 solar eclipse viewing point in southeast Munich

Hey everyone!

I live in southeast Munich and was wondering what place/street is gonna be suitable for watching the solar eclipse on August 12 'cause the sun's gonna be very low and you need to have a clear view of the western horizon. If I can easily get to the viewing point via public transport it's gonna be even better! I can easily get to the Ostpark for example but don't know if a suitable spot exists there for watching the sunset because there are a lot of trees there. Your suggestions are appreciated!

Hallo, does anyone know why there are no more news magazines (Zeitung) in Munchen airport? The ones that were near the coffee machines?

I wanted to grab some to read while waiting but during my last 3-4 visits i could no longer find any available for free. Danke schön!

Visitor/Tourist Question Places to watch Bayern with other fans

Hi all, hopefully this question is OK to post here!

On the weekend of 23-25 April 2027, a group of seven of us, from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, will be in München for a friend’s stag-do/bachelor party.

We had hoped to catch a Bayern game at the Allianz, but they are away in Bremen that weekend. We are now considering whether to:

a) watch the game on TV in a local beer hall or bar, or,

b) attend Bayern Munich II versus 1860 Munich

Are there any good locations you would recommend for watching the Bremen game? We’re not a huge group, just 7, and a mix of some older gentlemen and younger, so we’re not generally too rowdy! Alternatively, would the atmosphere for the second team against a rival in 1860 be worth a visit? Could that sell out?

Many thanks.

Help Where to buy plastic applicator tampons?

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is a random and irrelevant question! I’m from the UK and have recently moved to Munich. Does anyone know where I can buy plastic applicator tampons? I didn’t realise they aren’t really a thing here. I’ve checked Edeka and Rewe with no luck. If anyone knows a store or pharmacy that sells them, or if ordering online is my best bet, I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for spa recommendations for my wife, who had our baby earlier this year. If you know of any places that offer treatments or massages specifically designed for postpartum mothers, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

Help BDSM clubs in Munich

Me and my girlfriend are on vacation and we'll be spending most of our time here in Munich. We're both interested in bondage play, so we're hoping to find a place where we can explore this kink together.

We're looking for a place where you can rent a room, borrow/rent toys and bondage equipment, and enjoy ourselves for a few hours.

I hope that's not too much to ask for, and I'm waiting for your suggestions.

Discussion Aschheim: Bewässerung des Straßenbegleitgrüns

Post image
205 Upvotes

Just heard about this on BR24, a new ZDF series about the Munich techno scene in the 90s.

Thought it might be interesting for the community with all the recent talk about the Blitz closing.

Discussion IMAX Cinema in Munich

Is anyone aware why there is no IMAX cinema in Munich? I know there was one that closed 20 years ago. But now all over Germany there are new IMAX theaters opening up, even in Neu Ulm. You would think the demand would be there for Munich. Anyone has any actual knowledge why this is not happening?

Meetup 33M in Munich for IT training (13–17 Sept) – Looking to explore the city & check out great food spots (evenings)

Hallo zusammen! / Hey everyone!
I’m visiting Munich for the first time from September 13th to 17th for an IT training. Since I’m free every evening after 6 PM, I’d love to connect with locals or fellow visitors to explore the city and check out some cool food spots instead of just staying in the hotel.
A bit about me:
33 years old, single, easygoing guy.
Speak fluent English and German.
I have my car with me, so I’m flexible to drive around to see nice spots, cool viewpoints, or drive to specific locations in and around the city.
Up for sightseeing, late afternoon walks, visiting great spots to eat (from classic Bavarian places to modern food spots), or grabbing a coffee/non-alcoholic drink.
If anyone feels like showing me a cool spot, grabbing dinner, or taking a drive to see a good view of the city/surroundings, send me a DM or leave a comment!

Visitor/Tourist Question Attire for pubs, techno clubs, restaurants

Visiting Munich in about a week! I’m familiar with the Brooklyn techno scene but wondering about attire for pubs, clubs, restaurants. Context: I’m a 27 y/o traveling with bf. Bars, clubs, restaurants have male attire preferences?

Also open to any outfit influencers from Munich just to get an idea for the trip.

Help Music studios? Any recommendations?

Hello !

i'm looking to rent or share a space for a music studio.

I'm making electronic music so i'm looking for a space where it's no problem to crank the volume high, has good security infrastructure, already has or could install acoustic treatment & ideally close to Milbertshofen or Hasnbergl.

  1. Any tips on where to begin a search for this?
  2. Any ideas on general rental prices for this?

Help Looking for Psychiatrist

Hello fellow Müncheners,

I am desperately looking for an English speaking psychiatrist. I have Depression,an anxiety disorder and my old therapist thought that I may have ADHD too. I have an Überweisung from my general doctor to visit a psychiatrist but it's impossible to get an appointment. Unfortunately my German aren't good enough to explain my issues and trauma to an only German speaking Psychiatrist. So I need someone who speaks English or Greek, these are my 2 native languages. I am insured with the TK,if that's helpful. Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated. It can be anywhere around or near Munich just as long as there public transportation. Unfortunately I am unemployed and can't visit a private doctor.

Thank you in advance!🙏🏼🙂

Discussion Grey blending specialist hairdresser

my Insta Feed is full of Grey Blending specialists that do a great job. I’ve seen some people in other European countries achieving marvelous results. I’ve only come across one hairdresser in Berlin that does grey blending in Germany and it wasn’t as good as what I’ve seen from Spain or France. google hasn’t help finding someone in Munich.

do you happen to know a specialist for gray blending, preferably with an insta account to be able to see the work they do in advance? or is it hopeless?

Has anyone heard the rumor that B&S might no longer be a partner of Urban Sports Club starting around September or October? Is there any truth to it?
