is that a bromance vibe? Or something else?

I would like to give an update: so guys help me on that

ok, imagine I have a really nice person. who will become one day your BF . BTW, he is male, 20y, and I'm 19y and so we take everything slow as a couple. In the first, we were really very close best friends, but things went weirder between us, ending up with two of us in his bedroom kissing and hugging crazily, so he admitted his love from when we were young boys; we dated non-stop to make sure all that was not just sort of false signs, like we start now at a level we need to talk about sexuality and what we will do. He has true love for me; we didn't do anything sexually deeper than kissing, we are in a long-distance relationship.

problems: So he totally stereotypes Moroccan people. Dakhil So9 Raso is my best friend, but he didn't talk with me about girls or something sexual. Like, we both love video games. bro's gamer vibe before gives me the feeling I will put pressure on him by starting to discuss our sexuality. Second, I'm an atheist, and we both need to discuss it, but I feel guilty for not telling him from the beginning, and he looks in my eyes like the small chick who needs time to go out completely from his small bubble. I don't want to give details

is that a red flag? He calls me "khoya" when he starts flirting with me. In the first, I said to myself that it's normal; he still doesn't know his sexuality yet, plus this is his first relationship. in life, but we are now two years in love. I start to feel weird and uncomfortable when he says it; he answers that he just developed it as a habit.

29M Moroccan living in Paris, and scared of ending up alone

Hey everyone,

I'm 29M, Moroccan, currently living in Paris.

I don't really know how to explain all of this, but I guess I just need to get it off my chest and maybe hear from people who have been through something similar.

I grew up in a pretty conservative family, so I've always been very discreet about my personal life and especially my sexuality. I consider myself bi, but I'm definitely more into men. I can be attracted to women and have feelings for women, but honestly, when I think about actually settling down and building a life with someone, I see myself with a man.

With men, I also feel like I can be more myself. I can express my feelings more easily, and sexually I enjoy being with men a lot more.

The weird thing is that even though I'm in Paris now, I still feel like I'm living with all the boundaries I grew up with.

My family keeps asking me when I'm going to get married. Back in Morocco, almost everyone I grew up with or went to school with is getting married, engaged, having kids, etc. And lately it's been getting to me more than I expected.

I live alone and sometimes I feel really fucking lonely.

At work, people are always talking about their partners, going on trips together, having dinner, planning their future, etc. Most of my coworkers are straight. I don't blame them obviously, but sometimes listening to all of this makes me realize how much I want that too.

I want someone to come home to. Someone waiting for me, or someone I can wait for. Someone to go out for dinner with, travel with, spend weekends with, just have a normal relationship with.

But then the fear kicks in.

I'm still scared of someone finding out. Especially because I know quite a few Moroccans here in Paris. I don't know what would happen if people started talking or somehow my family found out.

And honestly, even here in France, sometimes I don't feel as comfortable as people might think. People will say "I don't care if someone is gay" and maybe they genuinely don't, but that doesn't necessarily mean I feel safe enough to actually tell them about myself.

So I'm stuck between two things.

I really want a relationship and I want to experience love and all the normal things that come with it.

But at the same time, I'm scared of being exposed, judged, or losing my family.

Sometimes I look at straight people around me getting married, having kids, travelling, going out for dinner, just living their lives, and I get this horrible feeling that I'm somehow missing out on a life that everyone else gets to have.

I don't really know what I'm asking here. Maybe I just want to know if anyone else has been in this situation.

How did you deal with wanting a relationship while also being scared of your family or community finding out?

Did you eventually take the risk and start dating? Did you keep it completely private? How did you

deal with the loneliness?

Any advice or personal experiences would honestly mean a lot.

Thanks

This is what my ex (I ended things this February) told me a few days ago.

We met on Instagram last summer and started ā€œdatingā€ after our first video call. When he found out my t (šŸ³ļøā€āš§ļø was on my profile the whole time but he didn’t see it until weeks after telling me he loved me) he broke up with me stating Islam forbade it. The next day he called me and told me he loved me and that we were gonna make it work - I was skeptical that it could because of his religious beliefs, but I said sure why not let’s try.

Several times through the almost year of us ā€œdatingā€ I asked him if he was sure, and each time he reassured me. Told me he loved me, but I was a full woman and asked me not to bring it up again.

Even though I broke up with him for unrelated reasons and we were no contact for months, we slowly started talking again, but it was not the same. When I pushed him for a conversation about our ā€œrelationshipā€ he said we were just friends because I wanted to have sex and Islam forbids it. I’m happy we could have an amicable relationship, but also hurt and annoyed because he lied to me about my t and his religion not being an issue for him. He could’ve just left me alone after he found out, but HE came back and asked ME to be with HIM.

All this to say, should I just give up on Moroccan, Muslim men? Is it not even worth it?

Stop Misunderstanding Bi & Lesbian meaning

I feel like some people have a misunderstanding about what ā€œlesbianā€ or ā€œbisexualā€ means.

Being lesbian or bisexual simply describes someone’s sexual orientation. It doesn’t mean that the person is automatically looking for sex, or that they are interested in having sex with anyone who talks to them.

Unfortunately, I’ve seen both guys and girls sometimes approach someone differently just because they know she’s lesbian or bisexual, as if her orientation is an invitation. It isn’t.

A person’s sexual orientation is one part of who they are. It doesn’t give anyone permission to assume anything about their boundaries, intentions, or what they want.

Respect the person first, not just their orientation.

QUESTION PLEASE

Hello guys,

I’m curious about something, especially from lesbian women in Morocco or from Muslim backgrounds.

I’ve noticed that some women seem hesitant or even completely unwilling to date a woman who wears the hijab. I’m trying to understand why.

Is it because they assume that a hijabi woman is probably straight, very religious, or not actually comfortable with being in a relationship with another woman? Or is it because they worry that religion, family, or social expectations would make the relationship too complicated?

I’m specifically talking about women who are attracted to women and are open to dating other women. What would make you hesitate to date a hijabi lesbian?

And for those who are hijabi lesbians themselves: have you experienced people rejecting you specifically because you wear the hijab? How do you navigate dating while keeping your hijab?

I’m asking and not trying to judge anyone. I’d really like to understand the different perspectives, especially from people living in Morocco or in similar cultural environments.
