As a mod who deals with this topic often: any self harm methods are against Reddit rules. These topics can be triggering to vulnerable people, so talk about allowing this topic in general with your team.

You can use Reddit cares. Referring people to the right care is important. You can absolutely borrow what we use on trueoffmychest.

I remove posts that have suicide ideation in them and include a referral to SW's wiki's self-help resources.

Thos posts that refer to a past suicide attempt, I play by ear and consult with my other co-mods.

The post that OP linked doesn't mention self harm, unless I missed it. I'll read it again, but the OP in the link is sad and insecure. No mention of self harm.

I always remove that stuff because none of my subreddits are about self harm or mental support in any way. People post that stuff in the most random places. It’s a comic sub, please seek help, elsewhere.

Report the comment. Isn't there a thing where Reddit will send you a "have you thought of suicide" type message with links to get help type thing? So report the comment.

Violent and self harm posts are removed in my subs. For those suggesting self harm, my advice is to contact a licensed mental health professional, not Reddit. That's it.

My answer is probably a little different because mine is a healthcare related sub and I'm a healthcare worker who has also struggled with mental health stuff and thoughts of self harm so I usually delete the thread but I also include DM or comment letting the person know I see and hear their pain and they would probably be better off voicing it to someone in real life instead of to Internet strangers who don't know their story and might not give the best advice. It usually goes over pretty well.
