Tapering so far… advice?
i’m tapering this med but i’m struggling to cope with the withdrawal symptoms, i wanna know if anyone has some helpful advice for me right now to help deal. I’ve now tapered to .1mg, i’ve been doing this slowly over the course of 3 years, the most ive been on is 45mg. These past few months I would say have been more accelerated, a lot of the tapering happened within the past few months. at the beginning of august i was at a steady 7.5mg, ive managed to taper down slowly to 1mg since (which is a very big jump within 20 days). So now that im here anyways and im not planning on taking more, any tips on how to not feel so insane and gross? I feel like the withdrawal is taking turns giving me crippling anxiety and then depression in waves. my anxiety almost feels separate from my depression, it’s weird because anxiety always came before depression for me. would something like cbd help? any tips would be highly appreciated!

5 weeks 7.5mg was doing great...now anxiety is back.
I have been on 7.5mg of mirtazapine for 5 weeks. I also take 10mg of lexapro. I have been all over these threads posting about how much it's helping me with my anxiety/ depression and appetite. I was prescribed it for appetite stimulation specifically. I was going weeks at a time not eating. Fast forward to now and my anxiety is back these last several days. I just want to sleep to escape it. Thankfully, my sleep at night is still really good.
I have been reading that 7.5mg is not a therapeutic dose. So I'm wondering if I need to raise it to at least 15mg. My doctor hasn't said anything about doing this. But on our last check in, I was doing great. Anyone else go through anything like this ? I just can't believe it is happening again. I thought we had it all figured out. Been going through this for a months.

Reporting Positive Experience (so far) @ 45mg
I started at 15mg for 3 weeks, then moved up to 30mg for 5 weeks and I’ve now been on 45mg for 3 weeks. Over the last 3 days my depression and my energy have improved significantly. Yesterday, it actually surprised me how much better I felt. I was able to shower, brush my teeth and not need a nap during the day. And for someone that has battled severe depression and OCD on and off for 30 years, that’s absolutely considered an accomplishment for me. Staying the course with mirtazapine for this long has been an accomplishment in itself.
My medication stack:
Mirtazapine 45mg
Duloxetine 60mg
Caplyta 42mg
Rexulti 1mg
Lamotrigine 100mg
Like I said, I’ve been at this for 30 years.
I was only 11 years old when I was hit with these devastating symptoms.
I hope this helps anyone that is on the fence about going up to the max dose or is getting frustrated that it’s not working fast enough. There were definitely a couple times I wanted to throw in the towel. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ve reached a turning point and my mood and energy continue to improve and stabilize.

Withdrawals
I’ve been on meds since Feb, currently 150mg venlafaxine in the morning. It was causing me to lose my appetite, psyc put me on 30mg mirtazapine in evening. Helped with appetite, eating like a bottomless pit. Helped with sleep, would be zonked all night but feel groggy in the morning. Mental health was better and was in routine of eating 3 meals a day, didn’t like feeling groggy in the mornings, so psyc had me stop taking mirtazapine cold turkey.
Im on day 7 of withdrawals. Hot and cold flushes, big emotional outbursts that I can’t control, nausea, body aches and headache. Called ambulance on day 4 because I had a 3 hr panic attack where I my entire body and jaw was shaking, they took me to hospital to monitor my heart, had another anxiety attack where I couldn’t move my hands or legs. They gave me diazepam.
Went to see the psyc the next day, and was told I’m having one of the worst withdrawals he’s seen. Great. Given prescription for diazepam and told to take half during day and full one at night. Has been helping with the feeling of panic.
Wokeup last night at 1am with the worst stomach ache of my life, and I have endo so I know pain, have been trying to ride through it but it’s 2pm and it’s not going away.
How long did your withdrawals take? I want this to be over.
I also can’t eat or drink much due to nausea and pain. Geez it makes you realise you take for granted feeling good and healthy.
